I agree with smilesxchibi and Tetora.

Not only do I find it unacceptable, I think it's nothing short of a PR disaster. Under these circumstances, usually said member goes on hiatus to recover or leaves on his own accord (or at least, superficially, appears to do so).

Firing him outright one day after missing a live is just poor. At least they could have found a better-sounding excuse.

lol I use my student allowance as well. I didn't during an internship in which case I was using money I earned. Priority for me is apartment 1st then music 2nd which is why my parents are always mystified as to why I don't have much money for food but I keep getting packages from Japan lol. They actually thought I had a girl bringing me presents from Japan 0.0 ... I wish -.-

All I was saying is that the bassist may still have wanted to be a part of the band and that it was unfair to fire him rather than allow him time off from the band as a hiatus to recover. Obviously im not aware of what condition he is in, so I apologize if that I had said came off improperly.

    Hi!

I'm kasupaa, new to MH! I found my way here trough my friend, Paradoxal, who forced me to sign up haha :DD

Anyways, I'm 21, living in Helsinki, Finland, hello!

I've been listening to jrock, more specifically Visual Kei since the end of 2005, so for over 8 years now! It all started with Dir en grey's Kodou, still one of my favourite tracks, even though the band does not inspire me that much anymore, their gig in 2007 in Helsinki was a disapointment. Somewhere in between I had a pause from actively following the VK-scene (during which many of my then-favourite bands disbanded, so sad), and listened mostly k-pop and western pop. My musical taste is a mix of quite everything, all the way from Moi dix Mois to Madonna, so :DD

I have listened to a lot of different bands, and like a lot, but have actually just a few ultimate favorites. For a loooong time, from 2006 to perhaps 2010, ayabie was my all-time favorite band, but now I would state Matenrou Opera as my favorite, Ayame is my favourite member (as you might figure out from the avatar ). Please don't ask for a favourite song since I like them all haha, but if you do, it's either Ruriiro de eigaku niji or Hiai to Melancholy. One of my happiest moments ever was when I got my copy of acedia, still the most awesome single ever. The Gazette is a band which I really like, it was a dream come true to see them live in Helsinki last september, but I fear they are becoming very generic, losing their edge or something. Xepher is a new discovery I like very much and look forward to see what they have to offer the scene :DD also, I like Lycaon (paradoxal rubs it in my face :DDD), bakane is a work of art. Really, it is. That modulation comes from above (or something).

I love love symphonic rock, like Versailles and the like a lot, have a weird craving for kotekote kei (love LOOVE Metis Gretel, Sui is an amazing vocalist), but really enjoy more relaxed styles like oshare as well (is it really bad to like An Cafe? :'D).

That's what I come up with, feel free to ask me anything!

Since Angelo recently acquired an ex-D'espa and ex-Vidoll member (both bands did considerably well in Japan and abroad), I highly doubt they're going anywhere either. If anything, they might do a revival tour with a rerecording collection or DVD / Blu-Ray or something.

I'm all about "Clear Sky" and "Mad Sky" remakes. ("Purple Sky" was eh)

^ Good point, thanks for letting us know. This indeed isn't a very desirable outcome either. Sadly, this was my only option that might work. All in all it's really difficult to solve this problem; the internet just basically does its thing anyway and you can't change people's mentality without completely locking down the forum, which would result in turning the entire section into an incredibly elitist mess (we've seen this happen with the post4link-method and it soon became a warzone because people refused to send links to people they didn't like).

I actually have a list of people I know who are both active here as on blogspots. I keep an eye on them from time to time to see if they respect the uploader's wishes, and if they don't I will contact them about this as it's now an official board rule. I can't do more than that though, sadly. If they refuse to listen warnings/bans can be put in motion but registering a new account or using a proxy is done in less than 10 seconds.

In all honesty, I think this thread has become rather meaningless since the second page because we have at least 4 groups of people talking about 4 different things:
    1) whether leeching should be condoned (whatever this means)
    2) whether leechers should feel grateful; and if they aren't, should they be 'forced' to
    3) whether leechers should credit the uploaders (this is a technical issue, and is in principle separate from whether they are genuinely thankful)
    4) whether leechers re-posting links is a problem; and if it is, how it should be solved
...and a handful of other auxiliary issues...
As things stand, almost everyone here is just talking past one another.
I stand with Champ's position on respecting the uploaders' wish, because that makes the most sense to me. I mean, we can go all out to pander to the uploaders and glorify them, or go for the other extreme and spite them to the point that only the most altruistic and generous ones will share - but what's the point? The former is only going to turn leechers away, and the latter is going to turn uploaders away. Simply put, both "solve" the problem by killing the DL section. We can have a separate debate on whether Saku's vision of a DL-less forum is more favorable, but that's topic for another day.

I'm so proud of their massive improvement since their mini-album and first singles.

This sounds awesome!  Love all the background synth.

Honestly wasn't expecting this kind of song given their goofy-ass new look.  Fortunately, they're in shadow for most of the PV, haha.

I prefer to travel alone as well because most people aren't interested in the same kind of things. Anyway I have a few amazing though somewhat random memories of the time I was living in Japan:

    1) Cycling 20km just to see Japanese pampas grass. I was dead beat at the end of it but to witness the expanse of golden lights dancing at dusk when the grass is in season was something special.

    2) I found myself in a very rural part of Ise because I had visited the shrine in the morning and didn't want to return to Kyoto so early. There, local trains run once every 2 hours. While waiting for the train I met a high school girl who approached me to ask for the train schedule, whether the next train stops at every stop, and a bunch of other strange questions (for a Japanese at least). From our conversation that followed I found out that was her very first time taking the train - she cycles to the next village for school every day but that morning her bicycle had died so she had no choice but to take the train. I remember teaching her how to pay for the train ride and the priceless look on her face when the train started moving =D

    3) I wandered into this small ramen place in rural Gifu when I was in the area as a stopover between Takayama and Nagoya. They had no menu whatsoever. Apparently the shopkeeper knows every single of her customers, and she would get their orders ready the moment they step into the place. Obviously they were excited seeing someone they've never seen before, so everyone gathered around me and we chatted about random stuff from Japanese politics to the dog next door (they much preferred the latter topic).

    4) Going up to the Japanese Alps was fun, but unpleasant because I forgot my jacket.

    5) Among my closest friends were a freelance translator who had probably been to half the countries in the world, a Japanese with rainbow hair who had gone to Paris to study fashion, and a somewhat popular host(!) in Osaka. There were other less quirky but no less amazing people I've met as well.
