@emmnyI kinda agree. Reita seems to only stand out on Deracine Wasteland and Deux (at the beginning). that's what you can expect with a bass at standard tuning and two guitars at dropped B.
I wanted to say he stands out on Bizarre, but after the live turns out that's a backing track with Uruha tapping over it. However, I'm pretty sure Reita picks up the slack if they were to play Grudge live.

@YuyoDrift I wouldn't say Kai carries the album. in all 3 releases however, i feel like my attention keeps getting drawn to Kai like as if the producer raised the level of his mix compared to everyone else. One of these days Kai's kicks are gonna blow out my car's bose system haha.

either way they should release the entire dogma sessions in 24-bit audio. maybe that will settle the debate haha.

It might be a bit of hyperbole, but honestly, The Pillows music in FLCL is a huge reason why I fell in love with Jrock, and eventually why this placed ended up existing XD

With the influence of the Polls of the Week in mind, I figured I'd talk about stuff this morning.

How much of an impact has listening to an OP/ED to an anime you've watched made to you?

Do you feel that the OP/ED is somewhat important in conveying a theme to the anime you are watching?

How about the bands that have their music promoted in the anime? Do you feel it's a great way for them to get noticed?

I stumbled across People in the Box - 机上の空軍 while listening to a playlist on one of my online streaming sites today, and upon searching, found/remembered that they had an ED for Tokyo Ghoul as well.

I had a flashback to my noobie days when the Adult Swim Network (USA) first aired in 2001 and I had watched FLCL/Cowboy Bebop/Inuyasha for the first time, and remembered that I used to find music this way.

The music played in the opening/during/ending of FLCL blew my mind away. I became obsessed with Japanese music for the first time, even though I was exposed to it earlier (Sailor Moon era), but it never made an impact like FLCL did. From then on, my music interests grew and became vast that it's become a definition of who I am now.

I always wonder what would have happened had I not watched the Anime aired back then, and had not stumbled upon the music in it. Would I eventually have listened to japanese music and have a liking to it as I do now?

Tell me Monochrome, did you have the same experiences as I did? If so, what Anime, and what OP/ED did you listen to that enamored you to keep listening up to this point?

YuyoDrift got a reaction from peffy in PSA: Don't use Apple Music, it might remove your local music files
LOL crap my comment never submitted. Thanks Comcast. It was all long and explained a lot. Shame.

I use an iPhone, and all I can say is you have to be aware of what is going on with the software/apps you are running.
Make sure the Download managers you use have an easy locale to your files, in case you need to set up another backup solution. Check off any options that use backup sync, or makes copies of the data on another location on your PC. There was a program that was introduced a while back (I completely forgot the name, it sucked doe) that had the option to backup your files into their selected format, and REPLACE your file with the newer version. The problem was that is was the DEFAULT OPTION. Holy shit did that company go under quick lol.

Basically, you guys need to understand that it is not just APPLE (Amazon and Spotify were just like this too). Anything with direct access to your files (whether synchronized or not), may have a small chance of modifying, corrupting, or even losing them. I've known this since the introduction of these ridiculous things back in 2013.  Not just on your PCs, but your phones too.

DRM is a son of a bitch and needs to be put down soon, but that's a story for another day....

Wait until Cloud-Based Services/Storage Solutions become cheap enough, where the average consumer will fall prey to their "terms and conditions", knowing full well that many of us do not even take a 5 second glance at those rules.

Definitely the language barrier. Ironically, I listen to J-Rock BECAUSE I don't understand it. There's been many a time when a musically great song performed in English has been ruined for me by lame lyrics. I never get that problem with J-Rock; I can focus on the music itself and appreciate the song as a whole.

Crap I just heard about this, and it seems everyone else has already heard the news.

Is there a link to this news on their twitter?

It's disappointing news indeed, hearing a nostalgic band of yours break this type of news abruptly, just when you think they were coming back.

I wish I wasn't so broke from seeing the GazettE in NYC, then maybe I'd fly out and see them.

    I wasn't a fan, but here's a translation for those who were.

    Byo:
We're closing the curtain on 10 years of SCREW.
In this time many purple flowers have bloomed and purple rain has fallen.
The reason we were able to come this far is because of you, reading this.
For the remaining six months, please continue to support us until our final breath.

    Kazuki:
So SCREW will disband on November 1. Sorry for the sudden announcement.
In these 10 years, we have been able to overcome any number of difficulties. I believed that SCREW was a band that could continue year after year.
The courage to persevere, the challenge of going on, and the fear of stopping.
Honestly, I think this was always somewhere in the back of my mind.
If you felt even a little bit that our music was able to support you, then I am satisfied as the guitatarist of SCREW.
Throughout these 10 years, I was able to meet so many wonderful people and so many of you came along with us, supporting us with your smiles.
To all of you who have supported us until now, I want to thank you sincerely from my heart.
Although we only have a short time left, please accompany us to the end of our dream. Please continue support us until the very end.

    Manabu:
November 1. On this day, SCREW will disband.
I'm sorry that we couldn't keep the promise we made on stage.
It's because of all the people we met and who supported us that we were able to come this far.
As for me, I plan to leave the stage after our final live.
Thank you so much for your support.
SCREW is my last dream. I am truly happy for the time we were able to spend together.
But it's still too soon to say farewell. I want to cherish this dream until the final moment.
To all of you who loved SCREW for these 10 years, you have my sincerest thanks and love.

    Jin:
SCREW will disband on November 1. Sorry for the sudden announcement.
Actually, although of course we've been doing our best these 10 years, the limit of SCREW is something we have been discussing since the start of the year.
Despite the departure of Yuto and Rui, we've remained positive in the face of adversity. Our fans supported and cheered for us.
But somehow we've lost sight of our goal, the struggle became reality, and we began to think that maybe SCREW can no longer exist as SCREW.
We feel terrible disappointing our fans like this, but all things must come to an end, and this is just the right time.
My chest ached to hear all the congratulations on our 10 year anniversary; I even cried.
Looking back on these 10 years, we've shared pain and happiness alike along with our fans. I'm really sorry we can't celebrate the 11th.
But I have no intention of quitting making music, so I promise you all I will return some day.
Please give us all your love at TSUTAYA O-EAST on November 1, and we'll repay it in kind.
Thank you so much for these 10 years. I am so grateful to everyone.
    I loved SCREW.

Today was my first live and it was great!

From what I remember, they played

    NIHIL
    DOGMA
    RAGE
    VORTEX
    FADELESS
    DERANGEMENT
    SUICIDE CIRCUS
    UGLY
    BIZARRE
    WASTELAND
    BLEMISH
    UNDYING
    OMINOUS
    FILTH IN THE BEAUTY

    The order is different.

    Encore:
    LEECH
    HEADACHE MAN
    TOMORROW NEVER DIES

The venue was smaller than I thought it would be, especially compared to what I have seen on live DVDs. The staff removed three people who were taking pictures. I really liked that they played a couple of songs from DIM. The opening with NIHIL was epic. The lighting and other effects showed me a dimension of the music that I never experienced before. I can't wait to listen to UNDYING when I get my CD. I liked what I heard from the live. I still can't believe that I saw the GazettE live. It was an experience that I will never forget.

It was just a handshake with the band and "thanks for coming" type thing. I recorded it, but security was rushing us along so I didn't get a good shot of everyone. lol You can see the videos I got on my instagram (shameless plug I know):

Aside from the girl fainting from whatever the hell she was on, and the numerous people recording the event, as well as the person  trying to crowd surf (who the fuck was that guy?), the people thrashing and the random mosh pit that this douchebag decided to start, my friend losing her jacket (luckily someone found it for her).

Luckily there was this cute Japanese Girl  who thought I was Japanese , and was not all objecting when I told her that I was going to hold her by the waist for "leverage" . She unfortunately lost her phone (I found it later and it's at the Lost-n-Found, if you are on here, or if someone here knows her).

I agree with most of Stall's points and felt that these lives were exactly what many of us needed.

I personally didn't feel we deserved an encore, but we did. the GazettE are more kinder than I imagined.

Overall a very amazing experience, and I hope these little incidents don't deter them from thinking twice about coming back.

Best part of my night was when I said "Holy Shit..." over and over for the first 2 minutes when Ruki came up to us above the crowd from the stage, he was so cool! I am in love with them all over again.

Very nice in-depth review Freesia! Really appreciate you taking the time to share some translations on the lyrics.

I agree with the posters above.
This single to me felt  like the weakest of the overall 3 releases. Their performance throughout the tracks became too sporadic and I lost interest about 1 minute in for each one.
B-Side tracks for sure.  I am just not a fan of their harder/darker music. Why Ruki continues to dilute his voice while singing is beyond me.

I need more time to give this another listen, and immerse myself in their overall message here.  Perhaps hearing them live will achieve this.
    For now though, (4/28/16)

Edit: After hearing UNDYING live and listening to how well the bands performance was, I was quick to dismiss the quality of their single.
After listening to a bit more, (5/2/16)

Edit 2: I can't believe I'm still enjoying this! It sounds just as great as it was a month ago. The entire single just rolls off the ear. Hnggg.
    Fanboi -ing again, (5/27/16)

YuyoDrift got a reaction from paradoxal in Your opinion on "no pictures" policy on overseas lives
So after contacting some of their reps, one finally answered my question.

"The artist and promoters are the ones that have the "No Cameras" policy and it does apply to everyone VIP members as well. The restriction is mostly for professional cameras that have a detachable lens. Camera phone should be ok."

    Thanks dude.

    Agreed.

People need to understand that taking picture/s or video during the concert is a completely different dilemma as opposed from taking pic/s during backstage/VIP, and should be opinionated differently.

I would be very content with 1 group photo during the VIP with my cell phone (maybe a disposable?). It'd make it worth the experience for me at least. Possibly a handshake/bow too lol.

During the concert though, please be courteous and put your mobile device away. Also, don't move around like you're having a seizure.
