Gaz got a reaction from Original Saku in Anime/Manga Recommendation Topic
One Outs (http://myanimelist.net/anime/5040/One_Outs)
one of my favorite animes ever. i'm a big fan of mind games, strategies and gambling in general, so i do like what the main character, Tokuchi Toa, is doing during whole series. using his intellect he is overcoming people with impressive physical abilities. it shows us that baseball is not the game when you can win only by using your muscles, you also need to analyze the situation and build win strategy much more than in other kind of sport.
when my friend recommended me this he said: "hey, you should watch it! it's even better than DESU NOTO". well, yes, the deduction part is better, but the main plot is pretty weak, like in the most of sport's animes. but still it's an awesome anime.
also i can recommend this is for guys who likes korean drama Liar Game. both (Liar Game and One Outs) mangas are from the same genious mangaka - Shinobu Kaitani. so if only anime wouldn't be enough for you, you can read the continuation in manga. and i hope you will enjoy it as much as i did
edit: also decided to add an opening theme, because it's great! but completly in different mood than anime lol Pay money To my Pain FTW!

Gaz reacted to nekkichi in the GazettE New Single, New DVD & New Album
^ Ii'll probably be one of the few people to give a positive review on the album, because seriously guys, this band never deserved all that hate you all serve 'em ——— and by the way, I am sooooooooo Pollyanna-tier special ☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆
I should note that this is probably the first time you're that thirsty, you generally restrain yourself to leaving glittering optimistic reviews no matter how crappy/unnecessary their releases turn out.

Gaz reacted to madygrain in Regarding the MH staff
I understand that you feel like people is overdemanding, and there is no way your point is invalid in an abdsolute way. But as you said this site exists thanks to the passion for japanese music, passion that even drove you to invest money on the site's continuity. But please, consider that if there's people talking about this in this thread it's because they also care quite a bit about MH and want it to be a better place. This is not about making you feel bad about how "bad" MH is now, it's about the people that likes it a lot wanting it to be a better place tomorrow. I undesrtand it's frustrating but I could bet nobody in this thread wrote to piss you off. But it's the risk you go into when running a service for everyone for free. You run into the expectations that offering any service and the problems of it not being a business, but I gess that's a tale for another night.
This it's true. It allways amazed me how many moderators/admins/people with exotic colors on their names were and how small/none impact this had on the forum level of manteinance. But there are 7000 people here. Fucking 7000!. About 30 are active and invested in the site at most (not counting fancy colored names, just usual yellows) and one of those holds about 70% of the actitity of the forum probably more if we talk about debate activity.
This is ridiculous. Moderation looking at their bellys is an issue, but the shame is on almost everybody that is not Trombe or a frequent uploader, with a couple of exceptions I gess.
And we can not blame it on the download leeches. They would never make this commuty interesting. If they annoy us, there are ways we can clean them out of this place. But that would not make any difference if we, "invested veterans" don't do something to make this an active, interesting community.
I tried to do my part when proposing the CD purchase coordination threads and the collection threads wich I abandoned due to the lack of interest in the first case and the overleeching and ridiculous amount requests form people with 0 messages and such on the second one. I left those ideas that may have helped, so blame on me. I will try to come back to them and think about more things that I can do to boost actitivty. But no one can do that if the rest of the MH that wants it to be interesting don't support it. Let's do this together. There is no other way.
As people has shown their will to fix the mod issue in this thread, i see it hypocrytical of us not to open a new thread or discuss elsewhere ways we regular users could make MH better.
On the staff side of things, it's all about motivation. Few motivated people can do more than an army of e-personalities that don't care at all. Motivation runs off quickly, so rotation is key. Get involved, set a tone of debate that is good. Care.
About what MH is or what we want it to be, I don't think that's an issue at all. Forum are user driven. The topic is asian music. The active commutity will drive the frum to a more specfic field. But before we need an active community willing to drive MH somewhere.

Gaz reacted to kai_desu in About Deadeyes-star
A lot of you have asked what Deadeyes-star is. In short, it'll be a Japanese music database. It's purpose is to close in the gap between english speaking fans and the Japanese music scene.
For years I've used JaME and other related websites to try and track down bands, stay up to date on new releases, and find information on their releases. There really is no definitive place to find all this information. There's Last.FM, JaME, Visunavi, grassthreads, and even YouTube. Deadeyes-star aims to combine the best of all these resources into one, and building a community around it.
Above you'll find a lovely screenshot of the first sneak peek at what the website will be when its first released. One of the problems I've made, is holding everything off until I had everything complete. Well - in reality this method will never work. So the plan is to release the website in stages, with each stage building up off the other adding new features and fixing bugs as we move along.
The second problem we made, was trying to keep everything a secret. From now on, everything will be announced publicly. I've even come to terms that this is a project I can't pull off by myself. Right now the team consists of me and Manda. I work on the actual develop and coding of the website, where manda focuses on the design and graphics. We'd like this to grow to help in development.
Soon, I'll make another post to recruit for help if you think you or anyone you know may want to join in on the development side of this.
For the time being, if you have any questions or anything, feel free to ask away!

Gaz got a reaction from Delkmiroph in Split forum into; more parts
more important thing is reorganisation in the moderation team and make forum more active than it is now. we don't need a lot of changes right now, imo. let's wait for the mods' decision about the main problem and not push on them with all things at once.

Gaz reacted to Kaye in Split forum into; more parts
Being one of the people who's been here for years, and being one who listens to kpop at that, I still think this isn't a good idea.
This forum is supposed to be about Japanese music, right? We already have a section where we upload rock music that isn't necessarily Japanese, but it still is Asian. Isn't that good enough? Also, it's been years since this forum was only about all the VK. I get most of my Japanese rock music from this place, and I haven't been really listening to VK in years.
There are a lot of blogs and websites out there sharing Kpop music. Now I'm not against listening to kpop, but it would result in a surge of kpop kids who, if you've seen anything at all, are pretty much brain dead (not everyone, but I'm sure you know what I mean) and you'd get threads full of oppa oppa ooppppaaaaaaa. Aren't there already enough websites for this? Call me narrowminded or ignorant or anything you'd want for that opinion, but as someone who's seen enough of the kpop world, I'd like to see Monochrome as some kind of website that still keeps to its original idea.
Besides, how could we have split forums for every genre for instance, when so many rock bands are such a mix of thousands at once?

The 'marxism' in this song is mainly atheism. (Looking for a soul inside the body, questioning the existence of god altogether.) But there are also some references to materialism. (The visible things)
I think the text by Marx that might have inspired kon to write this are the theses on Feuerbach.

Gaz reacted to Karma’s Hat in Truly crappy Western "visual kei" inspired music
I actually thought Lucid was a half-decent bad Unsraw rip-off which itself is a tremendous step forward for Western VK, but then again the singer seems to only speak Japanese. Instrumentally they were doing more things right than any Scandinavian piece of shit vk band has ever done. And I love the singer :'D This I realise might not be everyone's thing because the performance is rough as fuck and a little bit campy perhaps, but I thought he had more charm than any other western vk vocalist thus far. Shame that they went to hiatus and the singer has moved to Japan as well iirc

Gaz reacted to Zeus in Illegal downloading should stop... or going on...?
That's all hindsight. The music has and always will continue to come from only a few places. Everyone else on the internet reposts those new releases. All the "blogs" and "communities" that you saw shared a lot of the same fans, and were all redundant because there was nothing you could do on a blog or another forum that you couldn't already do (with more people) on MH, last.fm, Jpopsuki, Otonomai, etc.
2012 put an end to stuff like visual kei blogs, and communities centered around those blogs died. What put the nail in the coffin was the death of MegaUpload and the resulting backlash from other cyberlockers. This pretty much wiped out entire archives of VK. People with blogs that got hit hard decided to stop updating. New fans figured it would be a waste of time to start one up because now these sites are getting more aggressive with taking infringing links down. The age of VK blogs came to a pretty swift end by the end of 2012/beginning of 2013.
When you look at the DL section and see "less VK", that doesn't necessarily mean that VK fandom is decreasing. What you're actually seeing is more "not VK", because the entire landscape has changed so that redundant communities no longer exist and there are a few centralized hubs to go look for all things Japanese now. MH has had to grow to keep all types of the Japanese fandom alive - and it evolved of the will of the members here. Isn't that just awesome?
Which is why Nyasagi is right, even though the second part of that statement is opinion that I can't support as fact (even though I agree). There's a lot of stuff being shared. A lot of stuff. It may be music you aren't interested in but that doesn't mean that there aren't things being shared. Sharing here had to explode because as I said before, there aren't many other well-established places to do it. I can only think of one, actually, and they're about as lowkey as we are.
