I'm calling it now, he's legally changing his name to "Chad".

You need help my friend. It's not too late though, just let Jesus come inside of you. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
  4. That's really interesting. I have to admit that I don't know anywhere near enough about this topic to be able to say whether that counts as synaesthesia or not. I only recently discovered that it's considered abnormal to experience this sort of thing at all. From my basic understanding though, it's not a learned process but something that comes instinctively/naturally. Is that something you taught yourself to do or is it just something that naturally started occurring? If it's the latter then it might be an example of synaesthesia. It's different from person to person. For example, this person associates a completely different set of colours with the different days of the week to me. I have no experience with synaesthetsia relating to other senses other than the perception of colour being associated with certain word or letters (not that I'm aware of at least), nor do I know anybody that does, but I'd assume it's the same for those too.
  5. Does anyone else here experience Synaesthesia? In other words, do they subconsciously associate letters, numbers and/or words (or even other things like musical notes) with different colours? If so, what colours do people associate different things with? For example, in my head I associate the following days with the corresponding colours: Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday I guess I'm just curious to see how common/uncommon this is and what other people associate with different things.

I don't think this is such a surprising direction for them; they've released a couple of songs over the years that haven't really been much of a far-cry from what we're hearing here. Xeno, to name one recent example. Anyway, I can dig it. Wonder if it's reflective of the rest of the album or not?
  7. It sounds okay, but I don't see me listening to it very often. Doesn't seem like it'll have much to offer on repeated listens. We'll see, though.

I respect him for just doing what he wants rather than sticking to a particular groove his whole career, but everything from his self-titled album onwards just bores me. Sadly this doesn't seem like it'll be any different. Also... "Fire Bird"? Isn't that basically a Phoenix?

September is turning into a stacked month with downy, THE NOVEMBERS and Opeth all releasing new full-lengths.

Blaming Pokemon Go itself for the actions of people playing it is like blaming McDonald's for people having obesity problems. At the end of the day, it's up to you as an individual to take the necessary steps to keep yourself safe, and to be completely honest most of those steps are just common sense; things like not walking into the middle of a road or not walking around alone at 3am with your phone all lit up for prospective burglars to see. With regards to children, just take them to parks or other open areas without cars and traffic to play. You know, be a responsible parent. As @SEKHMET's post helps to illustrate, for every negative story to have come around since this game's launch, there are plenty of heartwarming and positive ones too. I think people are just looking for a reason to hate the popular new trend, as often tends to be the case.

Very happy to hear about this. Really liked his first album and, although I have nothing against Radwimps, I really wanted him to return to this project sometime.

I swear about 40-50% of the people in my city were playing it today, it was insane. The main park area in particular just had swarms of people all over trying to help each other find the best Pokemon. I hope they expand the feature set as time goes by, because with the amount of support this game is getting they could have something really special on their hands. Also Team Mystic FTW.

Misread @CAT5's comment as "how I feel" rather than "how to feel", so my bad there. Anyone telling anybody else how to feel is stupid no matter who they are, because every individual decides how they do or do not feel for themselves. People can't dictate other people's feelings. There's a very big difference, however, between that and saying that people's opinions should be heard and judged on the merit of their argument rather than their demographic identity. As such I stand by my post.

Would rep @hiroki's post 100 times over, if I could. I find it utterly bizarre how most modern mainstream 'equality' movements seem intent on reinforcing the perceived divisions in whichever demographic dimension they're concerned with rather than deconstructing them through heterogeneous deliberative discussion and co-operation. It's as though there's a widespread fundamental misunderstanding of the concept of equality; where people somehow perceive increased separation between peoples based on arbitrary identity factors to be preferable to the elimination of those factors from social consciousness. What makes it worse is its self-reinforcing tendencies, wherein which individuals from 'outside' of the debate are marginalized or excluded on the logic that the argument "doesn't affect them", and thus the 'debate' ends up taking place in a homogeneous echo chamber of sorts. I'm seeing this trend in a lot of other aspects of society too, and I have to admit it leaves me feeling very concerned. Which would be completely fine, if your opinion was logically well-founded and well-supported. Refer to Hiroki's post above.

June seems to have been the month of quality electronic music for me, and as such all of my recommendations fall somewhere within that spectrum. Julien Mier - Shiny Silver Lining Julien Mier's been on my radar for a while as one of the most interesting non-Japanese electronic musicians not to be on Ultimae Records. In fact I could easily imagine him fitting in with PROGRESSIVE FOrM's plethora of IDM prodigies. His latest effort is perhaps my favourite of his offerings to date and a strong contender for my favourite release of the year so far. Listen on Bandcamp M-KODA - WORKINGS Speaking of PROGRESSIVE FOrM artists, M-KODA has been one of the label's most consistent assets for quite some time now. His latest effort is yet another solid outing that helps to prove why he's one of Japan's most proficient IDM producers. Sample song: contact SCANN-TEC - Unyt SCANN-TEC is an Ultimae Records guy, which for the uninitiated means that you can expect lots of quality ambient, atmospheric, and downtempo music from anything he releases. Despite not being as famous as some of his label-mates like Solar Fields or co-founder Aes Dana, Unyt proves that he belongs amongst the genre's elite. Listen on Bandcamp

As if I needed any more reason to want to stay in South Korean and never go back to England.

The only one of those that I possess is messy hair, and I'm always told that's a negative >_>
  18. Hahaha, I know right? I never had any idea what their name meant until now. Have to echo everybody else's sentiments about the band themselves being pretty garbage, though.

Sounds like it'll be a poppier/softer release again going by that title. My ears are ready. Ah, they're not releasing it under MERZ? Interesting.

This gif speaks to me on a spiritual level.

I'm so fucking excited! FFXII's writing. world design, and general game-design are pretty much the pinnacle of the series IMO. I've always wanted to play the International Version, now I finally can! That remastered Boss Theme sounds dope too. There's an unedited version on the official site for those that are interested. And finally, a gif comparison between the visuals in the original PS2 version and The Zodiac Age:

ASEUL - New Pop ASEUL, formally known as YUKARI, is a Korean chillwave artist and one of the better members of the country's growing indie scene. New Pop is her first album since 2012's Echo and it's very much a maturation of her sound. I'd argue that it doesn't have as many individual stand-outs as her previous effort, but it's more consistent nevertheless. Sample song: Loveless Death Grips - Bottomless Pit It's Death Grips being doing what Death Grips does best. At this point I don't really feel comfortable calling them a hip-hop band. They are to hip-hop what 385 is to Jazz music; a messy, chaotic perversion of it that honestly has more in common with noise punk than anything else. Bottomless Pit sees them build upon their new-found intensity explored on Jenny Death while bringing back the catchy sensibilities of 2012's The Money Store. Might be one of my favourite albums of theirs. Sample song: Spikes Siraph - Siraph I still can't believe this project exists. Masayuki Hasuo (ex. school food punishment) and Yoshimasa Terui (haisuinonasa) joining forces to create the school food punishment sequel I've always wanted to hear. Vocalist Annabel's delivery and melodies do leave a little to be desired, but maybe that's just because I'm incessantly comparing them to Yumi Uchimura's. Either way, this band is on a level compositionally that the former was never quite able to reach after it went down the simplistic anisong route. Hopefully they'll deliver on their potential going forward. Sample song: 時間は告ぐ
