Thanks for the recommendations guys, enjoying both 420 and SM! I wish they albums would be a bit shorter though, makes it hard to pick out clear favourites somehow.

Awesome thread! This kind of stuff was what made me love VK and I still enjoy it a great deal. Never really listened to Revier, I'm surprised how good their vocalist sounds, is he in any other projects currently? You already posted quite a few of my old favourites (girugamesh, UnsraW and MUCC), but here are some of my most beloved nu metal riffs. My all time favourite is D'espa in their [Coll:Set] and BORN era, it's the stuff that got me into nu metal VK in the first place - Grudge, BORN and Quarter Void are among my favourites too, but In Vain was just my daily soundtrack to being an edgy teenager (and still is secretly). I also love the riff in Bouzenjishitsu and Black:List's Throw Hope away, awesome vocals for both of them as well. Too lazy to add any others right now, but there are countless of them I loved, maybe I will add some later. I guess DEZERT somewhat have the feeling of nu metal VK, don't they? Might be the reason why I dig them so much right now

Alright thanks, gonna give it a try!

Up until I heard their most recent single, I always thought these guys would be kind of boring, but now I actually really enjoy them and looked into their Singles collection. I do however prefer to listen to albums or mini albums, so does anybody have recommendations where to start? I have Venoms and enjoy a few tracks, but I feel it's a rather inconsistent work.

D'espairsRay for me, they are and have always been my favourite band - [Coll:Set] and MIRROR are masterpieces for me that I can still listen to after all these years without feeling bored. Add to that Hizumi is my favourite vocalist of all time and brings exactly all the characteristics I love about a voice, it's an easy choice despite girugamesh being a very close second, I loved everything up to MUSIC and do enjoy Monster too.

I really don't mind them taking a more pop-ish approach, but since their last album the soul seems to be gone completely. Both the production and how they play the songs just lacks any sort of passion I used to love these guys a lot, but this is just not for me anymore, no matter what genre they play.

The new preview is great, really looking forward to this now!

I totally get you man and I know the feeling very well, but if I have learned something throughout all the years I have done the online singing thing, it's that you should not focus too much on a few negative comments and take them to heart that much. I know very well that they hurt and can take your motivation away entirely for a while, but in the end it's just some people on the internet who have issues with your singing that can reach from just not liking the sound of your voice to personal reasons. I for one did enjoy your performance overall, just trying to be positive and show you that it might be worth sticking around if you enjoyed recording this album! But it's your decision in the end, just my two cents on the matter

Sounds like a nice project, props for finishing this! And to the vocalist: Don't let the critcism get you down, it's no reason to stop singing if you enjoy it! Accept it and try to improve, people here have always been rather harsh in the musicians corner for various reasons. In my opinion, there is certainly room for improvement and some parts sound a little awkward (''Utopia''), but overall it's a solid performance and you do have your moments. Your voice has a certain Post-Punk vibe to it in some songs, which I like.

Sioux is such a promising new band, love their style and concept!

New song sounds great man!

Not a fan of their recent look, but their new album is amazing!
-
This 360° stuff is really weird, but somewhat fascinating... The song itself is alright, enjoyed the screams a lot at least

Satoshi from girugamesh tweeted a cover I was part of once if that counts

I wish these guys would consistently release stuff on the level of their PV songs - all of them have been amazing so far, but their other songs (despite not being bad) just don't do it for me.

You pretty much nailed everything that I think about this band. And somehow this last point is probably what makes me come back to them in the hope that Jin polishes his skills and adds some actual professionalism to the passion. (Also, yay for Bloodborne avatar!)

Glad you liked my singing, thanks a lot! Yeah, fair enough, those are definitely some rather sudden changes in the song. Originally, our musical direction was more towards more Metalcore and modern Metal, but since both of my as well as our guitarist's influences include Power Metal, the chorus got that flair unconsciously somehow Generally, we wanted to do a lot of genre-jumping in the songs (as I did want to bring in some J-rock feeling), but we will have to work on making it sound more natural and smooth. As to your question: Yup, I used to sing a lot of Kamelot, but those covers are rather old unfortunately - if you still want to take a look, here you go. Also working on a Galneryus cover with another band! Thaaanks, glad you liked them!

Thanks a lot man, really glad you enjoyed it!

Hey guys, we finished another song via homerecording and I thought I might share it again. We tried to improve some of the points that were criticised before, which for me was mainly emotion - hope you can hear the difference, would appreciate any feedback

Hard decision for me, so I will be diplomatic and choose both. I really enjoyed their newer sound and all their releases apart from Arche, but Withering To Death remains my favourite album of them, plus I clearly prefer Kyo's old, less nasal clean vocals over how they sound nowadays (I still enjoy them now though):

I really want to like THE BLACK SWAN, but for me Jin just ruins the whole thing - I don't hate the guy and I guess to some his tone may appeal, but apart from that he is just downright a bad singer who can't hold a note. I do like their music though, but well, gonna vote for the other guys, never heard them before, they sound nice!

Hey, after posting that example in the Karaoke thread, I thought I could show off some of my favourite collabs since they are some of my biggest projects. The one I posted before and the second one in here are part of a contest I took part in with my YouTube collab group RE:CHORD. The Incomplete cover actually got noticed by girugamesh's Satoshi, he even shared it on his twitter! This one was with a group that covers anime openings, there will be more stuff with me on that channel soon

Thanks guys! And yeah sure, I would be willing to join. I can also take over the scripting and mixing if you want, I'd just prefer if we chose a song with a proper instrumental since working with these vocal removal songs is really a pain ;D I also got a channel with quite a few subs, so I could promote the other singers there if they want to! Monochrome Heaven All Stars incoming edit: Suggestion! How about X Japan's Kurenai? It has a decent instrumental and a good length to put every singer into spotlight! Also, since Toshi is pretty much always singing in female range, the female contestants could deal with it too if they decide to join us, whereas the males who can't hit the high notes can just sing it an octave lower, still sounds good for that song. Also, I could (no promises though) possibly arrange an artist and animator making a cool video for us, here is an example of a nice collab which used that kind of stuff (I'm Kal in there): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvJBUo1yGg0&index=22&list=PL04Fixv9uGiZXd_pfd50qRCgsI9FJJflD Most likely not on a scale like this of course, but I simple video with names of the people singing and maybe some artwork should be fine Let me know what you think, if you are interested I could organize the thing together with Jiyun.

Hey guys, I am BLAME! Thanks so much for everyone who has been voting for me, I didn't expect the last round to go like that! It was a great contest and I really enjoyed every round, there were so many good entries, thanks to all the other participants and of course to Champ for organizing the whole thing If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me! And as a side note: Winning this contest actually means a lot to me, since about five or six years ago, the second Karaoke contest on this forum was the reason why I attempted to sing and by some mircale won the contest (mainly due to most participants dropping out ), which was probably not very deserved, but still motivated me to stick with singing. So it feels amazing to come back and win this contest again and this time without the contest ending earlier than expected! Lastly, I really want to know who Dayu is - I recognized some voices from older contests, but damn, you have an amazing voice and your singing is really impressive!

Man, you are good! Loved the new one, massive sound
