this is the best/worst halloween week announce ever

So, for anyone interested on a bit of backstory: the main feature and only "new song" of this release is the titular track "子 ギャル" which hide and his band began recording around the time of the Ja,Zoo sessions but wasn't included on that album because he passed away during production, i.e. the song was never finished. Now I.N.A dug out the original tapes and remastered the song, and to complete it he added . . . vocaloid (I'm guessing a hide-sounding one?). Yyyeah.
 
Anyway, the other songs on the "album" are labeled as bonus tracks, lmao. Nothing else new on there, all songs we've heard (and they released) a thousand times before. The limited edition contains the original demo version of the title song too, btw.
 
So yeah. Meh. xD

^ hide vocaloid and hologram? How has this not happened yet

Had a kind of all-day horror marathon with some friends today (Halloween approaching and whatnot). Lots of pizza and beer and weird candy have been had by all ... and of course some classic horror movies!
 
We went in chronological order and started off with The Omen which I hadn't seen before, interestingly enough. It was nice and all, maybe not the most suitable film for a booze-filled day with lots of laughs tho. xD Next up was Re-Animator awww yeahhh, still as great as ever. I wanna marry Jeffrey Combs' character in the non-gayest way imaginable. Then came The Fly (the Cronenberg remake obviously), an excellent exercise in body horror. And to top it all off, Hellraiser. Not much to say, other than it's still one of my top fave horror flicks.
 
All in all, a cool Saturday!

VANITAS was absolutely amazing.

Fuck, what an underrated band. Terror Squad's debut is a semi-technical deathy thrash metal assault with lots of twist and turns, and the second album is a lot more progressive, punky, avant-garde and technical. Both fantastic albums! Crushing stuff. One of the most original bands within the thrash metal genre ever. No idea why they haven't made a bigger name for themself after 22 years. Such a shame, really. Took me a while to get into Chaosdragon Rising, because it is a hard listen for being thrash metal, but it's a great album. Their debut, The Wild Stream of Eternal Sin, is a lot better though. Masterpiece!

I love the lyrics to the song. I like disco too, but it's fantastic anyway. Sooooo cheesy, but that's a part of metal, innit? And I love how many bands and albums they put into the lyrics. Always nice with a homage to bands that influenced you.

Oh shit, this is good. So good I almost threw my laptop at the wall half way into the first song. I'm not sure I can handle the badassness and coolness from the duo this time around. It's almost too much.

Is there ever going to be thread about Jin where people don't complain about his vocals? And also I see a lot of people worshiping TBS but still hating NEGA which doesn't make sense.
The PV is amazing though, I'm just not a fan of the bondage stuff.

Can't remember how many times my searches failed because I remembered a release was upped here long time ago, but couldn't find it because the uploader only wrote kana in the title and contents, lol.

1.) THE HOPELESS 
 
Okay so let's start off with how amazing this is. I am trying to process all the eargasm that just pounded my eardrum relentlessly. I dont even know where to start, Just holy fuck like okay so....JIN's growling......amazing.....This is like NEGA on steroids. The beginning where he growl's "絶望" just oh my god....It's just like NEGA never left.....like it got way better....The Breakdown and Guitar solo made my ears.....cum. Sorry for saying some gross shit like that but this is just way too amazing for me to handle on so many levels. JIN'S BANSHEE SCREAM IS BACK!!!!! MNNNPGH!!!!! THE BLACK SWAN looks promising.....VERY PROMISING.
 
2.) HATE YOURSELF UNTIL YOU DIE
 
This.......is the work of a GOD........The guitars and piano and magical esque thing's....I just can't even handle it......This song is very nostalgic. In a way for me it's like NEGA had a baby with Phantasmagoria, like the child is just beautiful. This song is that child, again JIN's banshee scream and his new way of growling. I love it when he screams "HATE YOURSELLLLLLLLLLLLLLF" It's perfect, this is NEGA re-born to the fullest extent. THAT TERM ITSELF IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT BY THE WAY.....

They took a diarrhea dump on Arlequin with this one. Everything about this is perfect. EVERYTHING BABY. 

I recommend this to you if you miss NEGA'S sound cause JIN definitely took it with him.

RANDOM DISCLAIMER: I swear quite a bit, and I also use (UN)funny comparison's in my review's so please bear with me.
 
We'll start with order or favoritism.
 
1.) いろはにほへと-Irohanihoheto-
 
Okay so let me start off with saying i really at all do not Listen to AvelCain, but when i saw this single at the indie cd shop downtown i guess i'd try them out. I legitimately do not know why the fuck I haven't tried them out sooner, this single is absolutely amazing. I decided to give this song a whir first and at 0:12 i was blown away. This song just  just so pumping to me, I love the quickness the vocalist uses in his singing at the beginning. It's as if he's rapping., and I have to say it's pretty "mmmnpgh". This vocalist has a beautiful voice, the guitar solo was great aswell. This is one song I found no con's with whatsoever. The drum's however have a mystifying sound and reverberation to them.....Eh anyway i'm just rambling on.

2.) 空蝉-Utsusemi-
 
 Okay so....this song sent genuine chill's up my spine, at first I expected it to be a sentimental song like very slow, and you know feel-ish. But when that guitar kicked in, everything got deliciously evil sounding. It gave me a very.....sinister type vibe....like something that'd fit the mood if you were playing, Shinobi for PS2.( And yes i've tried that, and it is very fitting) Anyway's I loved the chorus and the sitar-ish instrument that played in the background. The Solo was great everything in the song feel's tight..ya know? This song made me smile like a fucking dork.......because I am a fucking dork.....lmao.

3.) 死化粧 -Shinigeshou-
  Ehhhhh, I didn't really like the feel of the song but it was pretty good. A Bit groovy (MY ASPECT'S OF GROOVY ARE VERY VERY FUCKING WEIRD). I found myself awkwardly moving my head to the rhythm,but meh not much I can say about this one. It didn't get me going like the others but I still like it.       So.....This single get's a 10/10 Yay~ AvelCain. :3

Here's my unpopular opinion so feel free to disagree.

Different ≠ Good. I'm tired of hearing "so-and-so is the 1251878th pop-rock band, therefore they are shit." I need someone to explain to me - logically - how people actually arrive at the ludicrous position that being different is a necessary condition for being good. If someone likes a certain style or sound - isn't it obviously natural to continue seeking out the same sound he enjoys so that he can derive the same satisfaction from it? People who love 90s nagoya kei are unwavering fans because of its very distinctive sound which has been arguably "lost" - and hence the nostalgia for that period. Is that really hard to understand? No. While having some originality is always welcome, it is neither necessary nor sufficient (nor even the most important) criterion for enjoying the music in question.

Pop-rock tends to be unfairly tagged as "the genre where everything-sounds-the-same" although pretty much the same thing can be said of "dark/gloomy kei", "core-ish music", electro, etc. Any counter-objection that I'm over-reducing the complexity of latter "genres" can be likewise applied to pop-rock, which I believe is more diverse than what most people (especially people who despise it) assume it to be. These days everything from Royz to Xepher to AKB48 are being carelessly chucked in the amorphous and ever-extending category of "poppish music", which allegedly (and almost by definition) sound the same. I do wonder if it isn't laughingly pretentious for people to dismiss stuff they don't like by saying "pop-rock all sound the same, hence they are garbage" while remaining willfully blind to their own human impulse to seek out the same sound/style when it comes to their pet subgenres. (I'm not going to name anyone.)

It's incredibly easy to sound different. I can record 620 minutes of belting chromatic scales non-stop, or 4 seconds of farting into the microphone. Sadly that makes for neither good nor enjoyable music.
