Some sort of live digest/promo thingie: Hip new band pic:
-
Nice cover art.

From what I remember SUGIZO (LUNA SEA) speaks really competent English, and Tomoyasu Hotei is almost fluent. I can't remember any other 'exceptional students', haha.

Also, just randomly checked out Akitsa's new album "Credo" and it is excellent! Raw primitive black metal with lots of anguish but also some surprisingly melodic and atmospheric bits too (not overdoing it tho). The production is just what this type of music needs too: harsh but not unlistenable by any means! I was completely unaware of this band so this was a nice surprise. As I can see they've been around for quite a while. https://akitsa.bandcamp.com/album/credo

I'm just spinning this album now myself, really impressive drumming... not sure about the actual songs tho. Might take some time to sink in, or I'm just not wholly in the mood for this type of BM right now. Nevertheless, drummerman rules!

I think it might just be that his whole way of thinking (or more like over-thinking things) irritates me. The geisha thing is a good example of that too, heh. Otherwise there are some really beautiful passages and interesting thoughts in the novel so far, but maybe it's just not my pace. I don't think I'll ever read the rest of the tetralogy, unless I somehow get to like the book more by the end... we'll see.

Yup, that must be it! Come thru, cape kei~

^ My initial thought was "...isn't this look from sometime before?" lol.
-
Reading Spring Snow by Yukio Mishima currently, and struggling with it a bit, lol. The protagonist is an asshat and not much exciting happened throughout the first 100 pages but I'll try to finish it.

Just finished watching, and this has now easily become my favorite horror of 2018. So much cool occult and creepy stuff, quite mysterious too, and they didn't skimp on the violence either! Best of all, it had virtually no jump scares which is a huge plus for me.

^ Usually I'm not a fan of such over-polished tech-deathy stuff but Psycroptic can be cool at times! These tracks sound okay too. I remember enjoying their last album for a minute, back when after it was released (but live they were a bit underwhelming, maybe I just caught them on a bad night). Been spinning some good ol' Mayhem recently, Grand Declaration and Esoteric Warfare are still two cold and mean records. Nice.

Pretty cool movie, I remember being pleasantly surprised too! Not really a movie, but I just finished watching Twin Peaks: The Return yesterday and now that it's over I feel like there's an empty void inside of me but somehow strangely don't have the mood to watch any movie either. xD

Pterodactyl screeches for days.

Soon~ yes I'm gonna keep this one-person hype train rolling. ;(((
-
Nice. Too bad about it only being live-limited.
-
Haha, I really hope so! Famine's black metal rapping is amusing but kinda somewhat cool too, I dunno what it is. xD
-
I'm digging the new PN track too, looking forward to the album! I hope they're not losing the weirdness that characterized their last few albums tho (since this new song seems to be more 'straight-up' black metallish than usual).
-
Nice sample! These guys never seem to be doing anything extra with their musical style, but somehow it still works. Gonna try to check out the album.
-
^ Yup, I know of the old stuff, but I prefer their more 'death' sounding material actually.
-
About 10 or 11 of these tracks are from various live-only releases they released over the years, so makes sense I guess... Gonna check this out when it drops, even though I already know like half of these songs.
-
I thought the new Behemoth album was okay... nothing more, nothing less. Tho that is my general opinion when it comes to their music as a whole (and for some weird reason I wasn't too fond of "The Satanist", I enjoyed this one better).
-
People taking photos of band they like, news at 11...
-
^ Huh, interesting... but cool. Looking forward to it, especially since he said something like the rest of the tracks will be completely unlike this one (tho that just might have been 'promo bullshit').
-
Cool heavy metal melodies in this one! Also, dunno if it's just me but I couldn't really hear how Phil Anselmo is featured in this track (probably he's doing some low growls?). On another note, it's interesting to hear Sigh doing a primarily Japanese-language song, if I heard correctly.

Cool song and video! The visuals looks like the work of Costin Chioreanu (so I'm guessing he did the video), very cool and expressive.
