Haven't heard about these guys in a looooooong time. Awesome!!
-
Yeah, this is undoubtedly the best thing that happened this year, haha.

I was really hyped for this project because of (Church of Misery's) Tatsu Mikami's involvement, but ohhhhh boy... I just can't get into this at all (even tho "on paper" the style should work for me). Granted, this track is easier on my ears than their debut track but still far from anything I'd replay. The instrumentals are not bad but the vocals are too goofy for my liking. Cool art and logo tho.

Better late than never, haha! Looking forward to it.

I've been on a massive Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats binge lately, such an awesome psychedelic retro doomy creepy cult vibe! I didn't remember them being this good, lol. I'm currently in the process of listening to their new album "Wasteland" for the first time and this might be a bold statement (as I'm only halfway through) but this might be their best release yet... or one of their best, at least. Usually their stuff is a bit monotonous, not saying this as a bad thing, it's just a fact, but so far all the songs here are pretty catchy and more memorable than usual. The production is perfect too, noisy but still somehow 'clear'. Awesomeness all around. edit: Okay, just finished it, it's not the best, but one of their strongest albums definitely.

Shoutout to Burial Ground, totally mad (and underrated) zombie fun! Nice list btw. I wish I'd thought of something like this too, but alas, I totally forgot this year, lol. On a related note I had that 'Halloween movie night' with my friends and we did end up watching Terrifier. It was appreciated by at least one more person, so I call that a success.

Oooooh this might be cool!

Interesting how while Issei was part of DIMLIM I couldn't stand them, but now that they are on different paths, both DIMLIM and this new band seems a lot better than the 'original' DIMLIM was, haha. That said, the PV song is a bit stupid (not bad but has some.... questionable parts). Adolfism sounds okay tho.

I've been drooling over that vid for the past few days, looks and sounds sooo good! Crazy to think he's over 60 and still going stronger than ever (well, the time of filming was a couple years ago, but still...)! Now all I need is an actual gig somewhere near here and a new album...

Been re-listening to some Thy Darkened Shade today, they truly are in a realm of their own. Their last full-length was released 4 years ago already, and last year they only had 2 split appearances (great tracks nonetheless) so I really really hope some longer new material is being prepared. Everything they released so far is pure gold, but their 2nd (latest) album "Liber Lvcifer I: Khem Sedjet" is just A++ stuff. Kickass occult, complex and melodic BM.

I thought the song was far too long for its own good. I liked the beginning and the ending parts (with the 'amped-up' chorus repeating and the fast bit at the end) but it was just too middle-of-the-road Slipknot for me. Agreed about the old-school touches tho... Corey said this new album will apparently be quite dark and raw, so hoping to hear some more interesting and intense stuff.

Happy Halloween. edit: well that was kinda mehhh...

That cover... sure is something, lol.

It looks like JUBILEE will return next year with some gigs and most probably some new music. Their first revival/reunion live will be held on 2019/01/13 at 渋谷VUENOS, at the "GOTHIC NIGHT REVERBERATION" event whose full lineup will include: AUTO-MOD JUBILEE MADAME EDWARDA PHAIDIA NEUROTIC DOLL JELSOMENA LiQuid ButterFly E//+Z (plus two DJs) Quick history lesson: JUBILEE was an Osaka-based underground band from 1992 till the mid '00s helmed by guitarist Sadie Pink Galaxy (XA-VAT, SPEECIES, VAMQUET). They started out playing more traditional goth/deathrock/post-punk then evolved into a sort of psychedelic industrial rock style. They had a number of vocalists over the years but it looks like this revival will happen with their last singer Heresy. Sadie also tweeted a few weeks ago that they have already completed 7 new songs so far. Curious to see how this will turn out! (pls no more live-only releases, lol) edit: They have just announced that a new album called "DEATH TWICE 4 LIVING" will be released on 2019/01/13, featuring some new versions of old JUBILEE songs too. Tracklist, cover and release info from Twitter:

^ It's hard to keep up, man!! Anyway, thanks for the suggestion! Right now I'm not really in the mood for this type of DM, so gonna check 'em out a bit later. Spinning some Mortician and Incinerated currently, so I'm more on the primitive side of things now, heh.
-
Sadly I never heard of this band before but these tracks sound AMAZING. Really looking forward to this now, thanks for mentioning them!
-
On the one hand awwwwwww, on the other hand I didn't even know they were still around, lol.

...aaand of course I didn't have patience to finish Spring Snow, so stopped reading like 1/3 of the way through. No thanks. Currently re-reading Aliens: Rogue by Sandy Schofield. Pure silly sci-fi/horror pulp, just what I need right now.

Terrifier - Really entertaining slasher flick. I was legitimately surprised how good this was, despite looking a bit low-budget at first glance. Plenty of excitement, gore and a bit of humor too. Also that clown, man... awesome, haha. Some friends are coming over on Sunday for a Halloween movie mini-marathon, will try to convince them to watch this.

Mildly curious about that new Sodom stuff, tho not having high hopes (but might make for a fun listen). Just got through my first spin of the new Bloodbath album, excellent and catchy brutality! I really love the thick production too. Already have the new Outre and Devouring Star lined up next~

I constantly miss out on shows, cuz I'm an antisocial twat who changes his mind at the last minute about going to a gig (and then I hear later that the particular live was awesome, lol). My latest in this long line of regrets is passing on Bob Log III's gig, even though I've been excited about him coming here again for months... screw my brain I guess.

Thanks for copying the interview! Can't wait to hear that "weird" song trilogy, haha (as well as the rest of the album).
