Speaking of Swedish death metal, I came across this new release recently: Nothing mindblowing but good for a listen. Awesome guitar sound too.

Can't really say much since it's only one song, but one thing's for sure: Grieva rocks as always. They deliver their signature style as expected, and they do it very well. No need for unnecessary experimentations and such. The other two singles are great too btw.

Saw the Japanese noise-rock greats Zeni Geva last night, absolutely crushing performance (even if a little too short). The night began with Zeni Geva frontman KK Null laying down some trippy walls and slabs of noise and sound effects while the maniac Balázs Pándi beat the shit out of his drumkit. It had its moments, especially when KK took out a weird mic (that looked more like an oxygen mask xD) and started screaming into it, producing shrill synthetic wails. Then of course it was time for the main course, Zeni Geva, this time as a duo. I didn't mind because this way I could concentrate more on drummer god / my personal idol Tatsuya Yoshida, heh. He even helped out the guitar riffs with some minimalistic synth lines now and then (while not missing a beat on the drums with his other hand of course, lol). Very powerful and awesome gig! I even got Yoshida to sign a CD I bought from him at the merch table, so all in all pretty perfect experience. This is what it was like:

Never knew about this band but seems like they have a new album: ...gonna listen for sure, sounds pretty sweet.

Could barely scratch together 3-5 releases that I liked, let alone a top 3, heh. But here it goes: Terrible Feelings - Tremors / I can hardly put it into words how awesome this album is. Kickass melodic pop-punk-rock with gorgeous vocals that always manages to get my blood pumpin' and put a smile on my face. The Swedish cannot fail in this department! Szabó Benedek és a Galaxisok - A legszebb éveink / Discovered this neat singer-songwriter totally by accident, and completely fell in love with his latest full-length. Very smart and genuine lyrics, and excellent compact arrangements. Cemetery - Wind and Shadows / Sick and dark goth-punk/deathrock just how I like it. Trademark fuzzy guitar weeping and moaning/howling vocals encased in just the right amount of grimey production to make it work. Solid, especially for a debut album.

^ Haha, no worries, I was a bit iffy on Kyouki's vocals in the beginning too (especially when trying some of their previous band Reload... HAHAHA no. xD) but I realized it fits the music quite nicely. Glad to hear you found something to your liking. Their 3 latest songs have some cool stuff going on too.

All three songs are pretty cool imo. Can't really pick a fave. Love the industrial percussion sample at the beginning of Ayatsuri ningen, I wish they included more stuff like that (in their actual songs).
