    NAISU.
  3. Maybe let's keep it to: post-punk, new wave, goth, deathrock, darkwave, coldwave, dark rock, gothic rock...maybe some synthpop? Something like that. Not sure if we should include industrial and related subgenres (martial industrial, neo-folk, EBM etc.) cuz that would be a bit too much maybe. I'm down for anything tho. @Heroin OMG the bands in your first post, I must check'em outttt! <3 Fun coincidence: I'm gonna go see Ash Code live tomorrow and they have a The Sound cover, heh. Asylum Party and Clan of Xymox are totally cool too. Another great cult coldwave group: Opéra de Nuit!
  4. Oh damn, so many cool bands you guys mentioned! @Des I remember you playing Linea Aspera on plug (this same song), I must check out more from them! I haven't listened to Kokushoku Elegy before, but they sound nice. A bit like G-Schmitt maybe (also fantastic band). @Bear Now I'm reminded how few of the classics I truly know, haha. xD Always wanted to check out early Christian Death and Damned tho. So glad you mentioned Beastmilk btw, absolutely amazing band! Can't wait for their new album as Grave Pleasures, I'm sure it will deliver. @Ikna You're right I guess, SPA doesn't resemble the Sisters to a T of course, I just wrote it for lack of a better comparison (SPA sounds a bit more airy and electronic maybe?). Winter Severity Index sounds pretty fine, I must look into that later. Also, Catholic Spit are just excellent! Love them so much. Reminds me a lil' bit of my country's Rats Kill Bats (tho RKB aren't nearly as good).
  5. I'm surprised there isn't already a thread for this, but here it goes I guess! Let's use this wonderful space to share our love of post-punk, new wave, goth and deathrock bands (and any relevant subgenre like darkwave etc). Be it old classics or newer recommendations, reminiscences or news/new releases, all is welcome! Some cool stuff I'm spinnin' recently: She Past Away - excellent minimalistic Sisters of Mercy-esque goth-wave-thingie from Turkey (they just released their 2nd full-length a couple of days ago). Metro Cult - Danish band delivering synths and energetic post-punk with a darker shade, what can go wrong? (their debut EP was released today actually!) Ceremony - apparently they began as a shoegaze band but their latest album is nothing but amazing Joy Division worship (okay, it's a bit more varied than that). I wholeheartedly recommend the releases of Mass Media Records btw, awesome artists all around! Cemetery, Rule of Thirds, Shadowhouse and Lost Tribe are brilliant.

^ Yeah, I wasn't sure where JPU's distribution is exactly (and was lazy to look XD). So prolly just some bonus tracks, if that. Also, cool to hear about the new album being ready basically.
  9. Jigsaw9

If it's JPU Records advertising it, I doubt the band has anything to do with it personally/creatively. So don't get your hopes up about potential re-recordings and the like (tho it would be kinda neat I guess). It's most likely just some shiny new international edition they can rob the fans wallets with, lol.

    yayy~ finally~
  11. ^ Yeah, it's interesting to see the pattern. I guess they felt compelled to "groove it down" a bit, with all those alternative rock/metal bands springing up at that time trying to ride the grunge wave in the (semi-)mainstream. At least that's what I've always heard. And yeah, none of the groove-metal stuff of any thrash band is particularly noteworthy, at least from what I've experienced. xD I kinda didn't mind Slayer's transition that much, tho I don't listen to those two (?) '90s albums too much either. However, God Hates Us All I still hold in very high regard (maybe it still has some remnants of the groove sound, mixed with some hardcore elements). Can't speak about the other bands, cuz I either don't listen to them or just skip their albums that are generally deemed awful, haha (like with Sodom and Destruction).
  12. Jigsaw9

    cautiously looking forward to it~~

MEJIBRAY, easily. While I do enjoy some Royz tracks now and then, they pretty much leave zero impression on me, while with MEJIBRAY even their bad/trashy stuff sticks with me ("so bad it's almost good" sometimes xD). But yeah, that aside, MEJI' has more character and more of a unique sound for me anyway.
  14. Jigsaw9

Damn, that elimination... just... no. :'(((
  15. Jigsaw9

LMAO @ this dramatic budget-GazettE-DOGMA-teaser realness I'm intrigued tho.
  16. Jigsaw9

LOL I totally thought I read that they already became major back in the day with the release of their full album... guess not then. XD Looking forward to it!
  17. Jigsaw9

Gotta love how they name their minis, haha! Couldn't be bothered for the last two singles, but I'll def check this one out when the time comes... their mini albums have been some of their best releases so far. Let's hope they continue that trend.
  18. Jigsaw9

This was pretty awesome! Good luck, dude! Looking forward to hearing the rest.
