God, I had my fingers crossed about them playing in Madison again. I hate myself for missing that show...Might try and make it to Chicago for their show though.

Dear christ that episode was good. Probably the best episode of GoT yet. I am not sure I 100% agree with this. Though I did love the first book, I am not sure I liked it more than the first season. I will say that I am waiting to read the books till the seasons come out, purely because I think getting the extra detail from the books add more to the show, so it works as like an "extended edition" or something lol. That said, I think this show is done so fantastically well that while you get the power of your imagination in the books, there is something magically in actually seeing it all play out in front of you with glorious cinematography and sound. I finally got around to watching some episodes of the first season that I got on bluray and the surround sound just adds that extra bit of awesome for me.

I just enjoy watching. I don't have any sport I particularly watch (except for skiing in the winter Olympics). It's fun to learn about sports I know nothing about...like wtf is going on in water polo lol.

My mom got rid of my NES as a kid. "You got a new system so I figured you didn't need the old one." and she gave it to goodwill. I am still pissed about that. Duck hunt was the shit.

Just finished Steins;Gate. Holy fuck it was good! The first few episodes were kind of wtf, but it got sooooooooooooooooooooo good. Easily in my top 5 anime. Got 6 episodes left of Hanasaku Iroha. Pretty good show, calm, cute, and no real serious plot. Really easy to watch. There are a few ecchi moments here and there, and they are really random (maybe like 1 every third episode?) and pretty light and not needed, but they don't detract from the show too much. 4 episodes left of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Not sure how I feel about it yet...the tone is kinda of weird.

Danzai no Gunner was just plain bad. Dying Message was forgettable, but I have a hard time finding anything redeeming about Danzai. The title track starts off with a tacky intro and then everything goes massively down hill. Dear lord the chorus is just so sappy and bad. The synth in the BG of the chorus is so sugary that it is down right painful. I think I might give this a 3/10 if I were to rate it. How are the cymbals hit in the start of Luminous flame so freaking dead sounding? They sound tinny and weak. Lucky we really don't deal with them in the rest of the song. I think perhaps I would enjoy this song more if we didn't have shitty happy go luck synth noises in the background. The violin really doesn't add anything to this song either...I have a hard time telling whether it is synth or if it just sounds bad. Overall they ruin anything good the song had going for it. 4/10 Koori no Hakajirushi isn't so much bad as it is just the standard D song. Their just isn't anything unique about this song, no catchy riff, no unique sound, nothing that makes me feel like they haven't done something very similar many times before. I will remember nothing about this song as soon and I done listening to it. That doesn't make it bad, it just doesn't make it good either. 5/10 Solitude ~saigo no tegami~ intro is really nice and has a lot of promise...not sure if that really holds past 30 seconds in to this song. I actually fairly like this song, it is a pretty decent ballad with a lot going on it, with some nice texture. The build up to the chorus and the chorus itself is pretty freaking weak though. I find it funny though that I find that easily the weakest part of this song is Asagi's vocal delivery. I feel like there are no longer any subtleties. Every note is loud and upfront, with vibrato poured on every note. There is no crooning, no gentleness, no variation. Maybe some of this is the mastering and not Asagi's deleivery, but I can go back to old D ballads and LOVE his voice to being downright annoyed by it here. 6/10 Overall 4/10 Pretty lousy single imo.

Yeah, I downloaded it, and inono. I like it, it just ins't everything everyone else is saying it is. Their style exudes a certain feel to it, and I think I kind of need to be in a certain mood to enjoy it. Kind of a mixture of upbeat and happy but with a bit of melancholy and nostalgia. It is interesting for sure. I am going to go back and try it again and see what I think about it.

Satoshi just doesn't have the same impact with his vocals anymore...it's like they have lost a lot of his power. Also, this makes my soul weep 9YnbpfCmpGw

I just picked up a new pair of closed back headphones. The reason that spurred the new purchasing is that I am working 40 hours a week in an office that allows me to use headphones. I still love my Technics RP-DH1200, but they just arn't meant to be worn for over a few hours...wearing them for about 6 hours straight, my ear want to kill themselves (from the pressure the headphone puts on them, which is even worse since I wear glasses). I wanted to consider an open pair, but that just wasn't feasible in an office environment. So they needed to be Comfortable, Over ear, Closed back, with little sound leakage and decent isolation. Max price was $300. Immediately tossed out Shure's. I never found them very comfortable when I have tried them before. Wasn't even going to consider Beats and Bose (fuck that). Unltrasones got thrown out cause I hear they are very bright. Sennheiser doesn't really make anything with my requirements in my price range. The Audio Technicas seemed to have really fucking sound staging and the comfort wasn't all that. I hate active noise canceling, so I ditched anything with that. I narrowed it down to: AKG K550 Denon D2000 Focal Spirit Philips L1 Fidelio Beyerdynamic DT770 Denon got canned because it leaks a lot of sound, Focal was ditched cause the build quality is apparently crap, and the Beyer just requires a lot of power to run. This left be between the AKG and the Philips, so I went with my gut and got the AKG. It isn't without it's problems, but it is amazing how muddy it makes my old Technics sound. If anyone is interested, I can go in to more detail.
