Has anyone been following Korra recently? Season 4 just started and Ahhhhhhh Such Feels! I feel like Korra's been shaping up to be a worthy series next to Last Airbender.

Shutters a good one! It was a little different than your typical white ghost with black long hair offing people flick. I thought the Conjuring was pretty good. It doesn't really do anything original but it does what other movies have done pretty well. I will admit, thinking back to it now I can't say it was really memorable. It doesn't try to grab you with shock factor or a gruesome scene but rather focuses more on its characters and story (which is appreciated in a genre where story and character development is rarely the main focus).

  6. Haha time. There's always never enough.
  7. True Is it anything like jame-world? Because in that case only some information is helpful. I know it's really hard to track all this information though so I give them credit. I guess in my case I'm really only curious about a few releases anyways.
  8. Oh laawd no that's wayyy too much information to track down hah. Like Hiroki said, just stuff that follows along with the actual release. For something like first press posters I would probably just say something like "poster *design varies by store*" But this is way too much to handle so I think the question thread would be much more efficient. Btw, what's DS?
  9. Thinking about it again though it seems like too big a project. I mean, to follow all the bands, find all the info, etc. etc. etc. It's too much. I think it'd be better to just open a thread where people can ask questions regarding a certain release and if anyone knows they can answer. That way it won't be such a big thing and questions people actually want answered get answered. At least, that's the most efficient way I can think about going. Thanks Biopanda! Colabpanda.
  10. As a collector of Jrock CDS, I like to know what I'm buying. I want to know the differences between first and second press, limited edition vs regular edition, digipack or jewel case, Euro release vs Japan release vs US release, etc. Sometimes it's easy to find this information and sometimes it's next near to impossible (especially for earlier releases). I feel like this would be a difficult idea to implement (and I'm not even sure how many people are even interested in this kind of information) but what do people think about creating some kind of list that has all the release differences for a bands discography? I'm not sure how feasible this is considering there are so many bands and we may not even be able to find all this information. It sounds like a good idea when I think about it but I feel like once it gets started it's going to be a lot more complicated than planned. Still, on the chance people are on board I had a couple ideas to start. -List information such as (title, release date, catalog number, pressing, edition, bonuses (i.e. extra tracks, special booklet, slipcase, etc)) -Link to a photo(s) if possible (Most likely from personal collection) -Have the thread (or whatever it will be) accessible to all members for edits to add more bands, releases and info. Heck, maybe we can just create an individual thread per band under the artists section or something. Like I said, this seems like too much information to handle and/or more work than it's worth, but I thought I'd see what people thought of the idea.
  11. GazettE - Hyena Limited Edition. Both tracks on the single are on their Stacked Rubbish album and the PV on the DVD is included in their film bug 2 release. It's an obsolete release and worth a lot less than what people are selling it for. It's only value lies in the artwork and that alone is definitely not worth the money. Dir en Grey - Agitated Screams of Maggots Their live tracks are usually boring and the A-side mixing on the single is the same as on the Marrow of a Bone album. If you like the live tracks this could be worth the investment. Otherwise, it's pretty obsolete.
  12. Ooo good topic. Dir en Grey - ain't afraid to die The song and PV are beautiful and compliment each other perfectly. Also, the location for the PV reminds of places in my dreams I would have as a child. This sounds weird, but I can just smell the basement in the PV and it reminds me of how my pre-school smelled: Old, dusty, kinda moldy. Besides my weird quirks with the song, the theme deals with something we all must go through and makes me think about how to live so I won't be afraid to face death when my time comes.

Remembering songs comes very easy for me. I can usually listen to an album once and remember most of the titles. Japanese titles I'm not so good with. If I get into a band I can easily remember the names of all their releases, track lists on releases, different editions and differences between editions, regional releases and differences, catalog number.......I swear I have a life.
  14. CDS are my format of choice. My reasons are coming from more of a collectors perspective though. -You can play them on anything that has a disc drive. So basically everything (lol) -You can rip the music off the disc and transfer it to a digital music player or create additional copies for more rugged use. (I'm pretty sure you can do this with the other 2 formats but I don't know how complicated the process is.) -For special editions, the CD format is a nice size to create something more luxurious but not over-sized. (Except Dir en Grey and GazettE Ihetyou). -I feel like it's the most durable out of the 3 formats. -I like seeing designs right on the top of the disc -CD is a common word used by many languages so yay for no translations (LP too?) -You can use the C in CD to make a "C:" face, and the D to make a ":D" face -Have you ever microwaved a CD? -You can easily replace cases as needed. Sadly, not possible with vinyl.

Rentrer en Soi's Last Word PV. Love the song, but the video is so literally done. That and the cheesy filters overload the feels. Moments of maximum cheese -0:30 - Satsuki looking directly at the camera and wording his vocal part. (All the other dubs are really badly done too) -1:12 - "Kokora ga itai/My heart hurts" ~~ grabs chest -2:03 - "FEEL MY FEELS" -2:18 - Gypsy Takumi

I just bought a brand new copy of Dir en Grey's Rinkaku (LE not the Deluxe) for $1.31 + shipping. Ohhhh snap.
  17. I see PS2 is still the system of choice. Or people are just stuck with it hah.

I'm all for not bashing, but with your comment on people who didn't like aqua, aren't you kind of being a hypocrite? Also, how do you know how someone formed their opinion? Besides, all the reviewers here explained why they didn't like a certain aspect of the album. I might have phrased it differently, but I wouldn't say that's automatically labeling something as bad. I personally didn't enjoy aqua as much because I felt it was too repetitive and could have been cleaned up a bit. It was disappointing for me because it had the potential to be even greater. ♡

http://sukekiyo-jp.tumblr.com/post/99417081539/mors-est-2-8cm Live-track single. Was a limited gift item for those who purchased a 2-day ticket at their Tokyo Garden show. There will be another for one at the Osaka show. This one has live recordings of: -aftermath -hidden one -scars like velvet Personally, not really interested. Live singles/albums just don't do it for me. It's not the same as being there and the studio recording is much better.

@Jigsaw9: Yeah. I'm still...confused should I say? About the *you know what* scene (don't wanna ruin for anyone who hasn't seen it). Is that even possible?? Because I looked it up on google and apparently it's a thing.

12012 - XII 12012 have been rolling with a new style since one of their guitarists left them before the release of their self-titled. Overall, it's been a hit-and-miss with every new record since then, but the thing that remained constant in this transformation is that their music, regardless of whether or not it was bad or good, featured some very memorable content. I'm not too familiar with 12012's earlier years or even their mar maroon & Seven eras, but I will say that, within the context of these newer albums, I believe XI to be their best release yet. I will start out by saying that this album does not feature 12012's current heavy style (minus red). The album starts with vicious of absolution, which begins with an intro reminiscent of their last album The Swan. It quickly picks up into a slick guitar line and Wataru later joins in with a smooth and flowing melody. This pattern continues throughout the song until its short yet efficient ending. If I were to describe the track in two words it would be simple and eloquent. story of a different dimension kicks things up a notch with heavier fast paced drums and features some tight and distorted guitar playing. Even with this upbeat change, the song features a melancholy string solo and, almost, Gothic choir sequence. The best thing about the track though is definitely the guitars: They're charismatic and also played in a variety of styles keeping things interesting. The album finally gets more into the band's recent hardcore sound with the red. It's what you'd expect from a recent 12012 heavy song except that it's much cleaner in execution and Wataru's screams are done much better without delving into ridiculous loud shouting and vomit noise territory. There's even a short acoustic Spanish guitar break that's oh so sweet. It does begin to feel too long near the end with the song being just 3 seconds shy of 6 minutes. A lot of this, I feel, is contributed from a weak second melodic chorus. It gets especially sigh inducing the second time around when it transitions/becomes the climax of the song but just kinda stays the same. Still, this can be forgiven because of the catchy main guitar riff. alone is a sweet upbeat ballad that's somewhat of a throwback to their mar maroon/Seven era (at least in terms of the more poppy nature of the song). I find the bridge and chorus to be one of the more catchy melodic lines they've thrown at us in a while and just can't get enough of it. One thing I never really noticed in other songs but did in this one is the deep and rich tone of Wataru's voice. I usually don't notice this because he sings so high but alone really makes his voice shine. We now come to the final and longest song on the album, aqua. The first thing I'll say is that it's way too long. This song did not need to be over 9 minutes. Basically, it's the main chorus repeated again and again. The chorus is sung softly at first until the climax when everything is played at full force and then slowly fades out. I don't like the way the song fades out on this part because nothing is really happening in the music; it makes for a weak and unmemorable ending. Couple of suggestions: -If the song went into the climax after the piano break, I think it would've been much more tolerable. -Take out the bass solo (too flat and adds too much time) -Place the guitar solo at the end of the song to create a much more interesting fade out and keep the listener engaged. I think its fine as the closer to the album, but these few qualities really take away from the impact the track could have had. The songs individually are fairly strong, but I don't feel like that's where the strength of the album lies. Rather, I remember XII as a whole. I find it to be a fairly solid album from the start to finish having a smooth flow between songs, a uniform sound despite all songs being written by different members, and overall strong compositions. This is something their last few mini-albums lacked. Yes, the album doesn't have that recent hardcore and intense 12012 sound, but I'll trade a softer more refined album for a messy execution of a style that doesn't really match with them. I feel like this is a stable balance between their heavy and poppy sides. The album is brighter than Decida of Silence and The Swan but still retains a serious dark tone. I'm glad they're going on hiatus so they can take a break and perhaps think about what direction to go next, but I definitely don't want them to disband. I hope that they'll return with a fresh new release that continues to build on this style. [Kudos if you can guess where the skeleton image is from]

Has anyone seen society? I saw it once a few years ago and mostly just remember the visuals, but I remember it being pretty interesting. http://m.imdb.com/title/tt0098354/
