    A lot of thoughts on this!

    -7 types is a steaming pile of horseshit, BUT I'm assuming the Y/M//L/H/S means that they are composing the b-side track, in which case, I'm super excited. "H" has so few songs, so I'm looking forward to his, but all of them, tbh.
    -I immediately thought of "io" when I saw the title (this connection seems confirmed by the regular edition b-side), so I'm wondering if this song will also be composed by LiN?
    -Um, is UNiTE. going pseudo art-kei with that look? I support this.

    Nice! PELICAN FANCLUB's mini has to be among my faves of the year too (probably in the top 10), very cool sounding indie-rock with a strong voice. "Dali" is lovely, and the other tracks hold up too.

    Thanks for that nod in the blurb, @fitear1590. That similarity was my initial attraction to the BNT song you picked. But PELICAN FANCLUB have a great sound of their own too, and I'm happy to see them on the list this year. Great album!

    2015 is ending and I still need to give Suiyoubi no Campanella a proper listen. I'm still not that impressed with their music judging only from a few random videos, but everyone seems to be raving so much about this album that it's kinda hyping me up.

     

    I'm glad to see PELICAN FANCLUB in the list too! Their EP was a fairly nice surprise in a year that didn't really bring much in terms of indie music. "Dali" was one of the standout songs from Japan this year for me without a doubt.

    Yay, glad to see some other fans!

    Which track(s) from the mini did you all enjoy the most?

    Holy shit, I just realized how much getting into Kiryu can be a chore, haha. They have about 57 singles...

    Anyway, my personal favorites are the following:
    明鏡止水 (1st album)
    水無桜 (2010 single)
    屡流 (2010 single; don't love the a-side, but those b-sides)
    鬼祭 (2011 single; don't love the a-side, but those b-sides)
    朱花艶閃 (3rd album)
    愛怨忌焔 (2013 single)

    I make a big ritual of opening new CDs (I have to set aside a good 10 or 15 minutes, haha), but I can think of 2 CDs that are unopened. One, I downloaded before the CD arrived and realized I disliked it, so I am keeping it unopened, just in case I can sell it one of these days. The other is another CD I downloaded, but I have already seen booklet scans, so I just haven't felt too compelled to open it.

    First of all, thank you so much for all the replies and positive feedback! I enjoyed reading through all of your comments and I'm glad to see so many recent Aicle. converts and potential new fans!

     

    Level 5 Aicle. is my favorite Aicle. XD I loved how insane they could be.

    Yasss, level 5! That song seems even more bonkers coming after the sugary sweet level 1 track "心臓。"

     

    awesome article, this puts the song i recieved from plastic_rainbow on the halloween tradeoff in a lot more context; turns out they're more than just the sugary oshare band i assumed them to be from their looks.

    This makes me really happy :D Glad I could help!

     

    I love the crazy side of oshare kei; stuff like old Ayabie and old Lolita23q is similar in the semi-crazy level and I can't get enough XD Anyone know of any similar bands?

    So, I'm not too familiar with old Ayabie; could you recommend a song for me to check out as an Aicle. fan?

     

    My favorite song is "que sera:sera" without doubt!

    Nice choice! According to the poll, "que sera:sera" is one of their most popular tracks (I kind of figured that would happen), edged out only by "psycho x letter"!

     

    My favorites of theirs are "僕は魔王" and "【d2b2】." I still need to check out a bunch of their discography though. I think I'm really only into their level 4 stuff and some of their level 3. I felt like stuff like "サイコ×レタア" would have been a lot better if they dropped the super poppy, and rather abrupt, choruses, but I can still appreciate their craftsmanship. 

    Yes, level 4 is brilliant! I wish they had even more tracks like "death lolli-chou-pops" and "kuru kuru. to taiji mawaru". I love how he is just counting sheep in "【d2b2】".

     

    Unfortunately, I was never able to pay much attention to the lyrics since they were quite scarce back then, but dear god the lyrics for くるくる。と胎児は廻る, I love the song even more! Now that you have rekindled my obsession for them I will surely check the rest of their lyrics!

    The lyrics turned out to add even more to why I like Aicle! Thanks to "moonwalkingpenguin" and "Uke Yutaka", we have translations to the majority of the band's songs, so be sure to check their channels out!

     

    I've loved Aicle for years, but it's cool to see them described like that. My favourite level is 4 and I somehow had never heard this track "Kuru Kuru...", thanks for showing me that lol.

    Np, I love that song! It's a shame it was never properly released on a single or album.

     

    I have to admit that I always thought they were bad judging by their looks and some of the music I heard in the past

    Just out of curiosity, do you remember which songs made you feel this way? Maybe the "心臓。 (shinzou.)" PV from level 1?

    This is one of the reasons I love VK; the vocalists who are willing to do four different weird things with their voices in a song (even when the *singing* is pretty bad).

     

    I still don't like Aicle. (even after revisiting them throughout reading this), but this kind of article is a great addition to the reviews. Well done!
