No thread yet? Share your thoughts about the game. I've been playing CoD series since the first part came out. It's already the 8th one, though Modern Warfare is for me like separate series. I think thet generally MW3 game was really good as a continuation of MW2. I liked the diversity of locations and how the fabular events were made, since that was creating the vibe of the series. The only thing I didn't like is that it was quite short, took me about 7 hours to complete it.

Well, I can agree with u on this one. In Visual Kei extreme metal did exist (no idea wheter there still is), mostly in the early 1990s with bands like Aion or Rosenfeld. For me it doesn't so much matter how do the bands look, as long as they've got good music. If you talk about imagining MTH or other metal or even pop group had turned into visual looks, I don't think that fans would have left them since their music would be still awesome. But it could be weird for many of them. U right with that music was always at some ways connected with looks, but what I was reffering at is just the fact that nowadays, but not always, it replaces talent, as an example we can name today's mainstream, that's how these commercial stars are appearing on the stage, mostly for money. To me most of these new VK bands sound all just repetitive. There generally exist some good older bands, but look at UCP or oshare kei - a perfect example of the bands who are rather focusing on looks instead of music (or simply there's almost no talent involved), and as a result they all sound boringly the same. Visual kei is generally not fully Japanese invention, also nothing so unique. Men dressing up like women already existed in American glam rock scene which started in the beggining of the 70s and died around 1989. Besides I really don't think that music has such an ideology that describes all music scene in a broached country. @Yasuhiro, I agree with you! Your post sums up my thoughts at every possible way. The basic reason why I've got fed up with that scene. I remember that I also was often reading these hilarious comments, but if I go to Mad Capsule Markets or Loudness music videos I'm glad that there are mainly intellingent ppl commenting, instead of some crazy fanboys/fangirls. But I think that from the perspective "Better or worse music exists in every country" Japanese music is just like any other music in the world, without ingoring the fact that there are many bands with it's unique sound.

Wow, perhaps I'm sweeping dust from another thread of a band that I'm an enormous fan of I keep looking forward their new album, because I'm sure that it's going to come out in the next year. So far all what I found is their incoming tours, but after 5 years it's finally the time!

I'm exploring Japanese punk rock scene for some time. Does anyone know any bands that sound like Mad Capsule Markets material from their "4 Plugs" album?

Hope it won't go downhill, but that's my personal thoughts: I basically agree with what Hellion and Number Girl said, about all this so called VK. It's now focused rather on preety-boy looks instead of music and talent. And this is just idiotic. I got first time into Japanese music in 2008. At first I heard some random alternative rock songs, but later I've discovered Dir en Grey, Despa and Girugamesh. I was glad to find some new good music, and wanted to explore more of it. And while I was doing this that I've noticed that there's something wrong. Almost all other bands that I saw all sound and look the same - extremely repetitive! Even the VK vocalists always sound like women giving a birth or sth like that >:/ And yeah, not to mention the reterdness level of the most of fandom: the fangirls who all what they can say is that "(insert_member_nickname) is so hot/sexy/kawaii". It just makes ppl do a facepalm. I've been listening to visual kei for about one year, but it was before I discovered bands like Maximum the Hormone, Anthem, The Mad Capsule Markets. It's so damn riddiculous that these stupid fangirls don't like them because they "aren't kawaii desu" for them. As if all Japanese music artists ned to act feminine in orded to get attention. Music is not about looks! I also wonder why no one ever mentioned the fact that majority of Japanese ppl does NOT listen to visual kei, they'd rather listen to bands like for example One Ok Rock or old some music that they listened, when they were young. Personally I think that Visual Kei bands are just overrated and overrepresented on the Internet in a very stupid way. And this is just annoying! Type in google search "japanese rock bands". A huge part of results are guys with either boybandish looks or tones of make-up splashed around their faces, that most of people in Japan don't even listen to. After that ppl have negative mind about whole Japanese music scene. That simply irritates me because there are amount of good talented Japanese artists who no matter how unpopular overseas they are, they deserve to be heard. But due to such a pushing of all these VK by it's retarded fangirls, they lose their chance to get attention. I'm sorry if this post was way too long, but the reasons which I gave is why I consider all these neo-VK bands who are getting fans because of looks, as a disgrace for Japanese music. I don't meant all but, at least most of it, granted that I really like X Japan and Despa. That was my personal opinion which many other ppl share.

Good, thread! I also enjoy hearing bass solos made by bands. I'm getting pumped up with Maximum the Hormone's Uehara Futoshi song (9th track on Rokkinpo Goroshi) Also, maybe it's not a solo, I just get addicted to "Hab'it" by Mad Capsule Markets! The bass slapping sounds extremely awesome over there! I'll be sure to edit my post, when I'll remind myself sth else.

Not currently, but about 6 days ago, I watched a movie called "The Fox of Chironuppu". And it was one of saddest movies that I've seen in my life. I've been crying a lot after watching. Even now I didn't fully get over from it

Modern Warfare 2, just in expectations for Modern Warfare 3

Almost forgotten about the release, but yup, time to do it. Rosario - The beginning sounds like Different Sense. Mao does his clean singing alwaysconstantly good, but the screams and growls pumped me the heck out! And overall perfect song. 8/10 Suicidal Rock City - While Rosario sounded like Different Sense, this one sounds like Vortex. Which is really not bad, since Sadie sometimes likes to experiment. The guitar riffs are so phat here. And I like the rapping, which is unusual for VK. And the chrus sounds kinda... funky. the bass slapping before the final chorus part just emphasizes the song's awesomeness. 10/10 Break the Silence - The beginning sounds like old-school Linkin Park. Also we can get it more if we mix it with Bugaboo. Mao is doing really good job. Again this is pure greatness! 9/10 Overall, this is such a fantastic single. One of their best! Already gives me a good expectations for the incoming album! Fenomenal work, サディ! 9/10

Hope, I'm not posting this out of topic but, what do you guys think about promoting the Indie bands on MH by making threads about them, posting thoughts and rewievs and something like that? There might be a lot of ppl interested in it, but some disadvantage is that possibly the forum could burst at the seams. But overall, do you think it's a good idea?

That's why I'd rather write in hiragana/kanji Inari (Japanese fox deity of fortune)

yeah, i've become a hardcore girugamesh fan since early 2005. back in those days, they were like everything to me. i was very excited looking forward to their new releases every time they announced. however, my first disappointment was the album MUSIC. it's good that they didn't keep that electronic/techno sound although ALIVE b-side sounded like a leftover track from the album. and i was very impressed with all the stuff they released in 2009 including the album NOW (suiren has become my all time fav song of their new sound since then.). i dont want to mention to their music since 2010. it sounds like another different band. i was very in shock after hearing COLOR. (miage te kimi no hitomi ni wa aoi sora WTF) that's why i have high expectations on this 13 sign. please come back girugamesh. T_T That's right dude! Though I only don't agree about the Music album. Overall it was good, it managed to keep Girugamesh awesomeness, just with different style Now - ah, not that much. It wasn't bad but I think that with NOW, that's when they started to lose their heads. Overall, these guys used to be an extremely briliant band during the 2000s. And until I saw the Color PV prewiev I was in such a shock too. It just was a total joke! After that I just kept miserably watching one of my favourite bands collapsing like this. The number 13 might give some hope coz it somehow conjoins with 13 Reborn, but meh... I lost interest in them, however I'm gonna see what they will do at this 23rd.

I've started to listening to these guys some month ago. I really like their music. Especially what I like about them is their style which is a combination of punk, rap and electronics. My favourite album of theirs is "4 Plugs". I sometimes feel as if they were Maximum the Hormone of the 90s. Too bad they are on hiatus now, but I hope that they will finally return. Now share your opinion about the band

Who hadn't heard about these guys? I always planned to start listening to them, but just dunno which album should I check out first I've heard that Thudner in the East was their best.

I barely know personally anyone who listens to Japanese music, though I've found through Internet a lot of people who listen to Jrock. I've shown once to one of my friends MTH's Buikikaesu album and he said that he really likes it. Nowadays I'm showing to my family and friends some Japanese heavy metal songs and videos, so I don't need to be embarassed with that at all
