Wow, for some reasons I didn't know that thread about Linkin Park existshere I've heard Meteora back in 2004 and I have quickly a really big fan of it and later obtained Hybrid Theory. I always liked how each member was showing his talent on the albums all together, especially Mr Hahn Chaz's voice is also amazing. I miss the times when they were playing nu-metal, however I admit that I liked some songs on Minutes to Midnight. Blackout and Catalyst were stand-outs on A Thousand Suns. The thing that bothered me back when MtM came out, that where has Mr Hahn disappeared? He really did great work with his scratching on tracks like "Cure for The Itch" or "One Step Closer". The same thing with Mike, he didn't participate too much. Also same was with ATS, what tha heck has happend with Brad, Rob and Phoenix? It really looked as if they've been removed from the band. At least Chazy still somehow managed to keep his vocal range in fit, but it just wasn't enough for me. I expect that LP gonna finally make that douchebaggy habit of rejecting members stop! And I'm crossing fingers to them doing their works all together again

Let's not forget that, music overall has no nationality, overall. If you talk about sound that has Indian, Korean or Japanse sound, it is correct when there are traditional instrunents used. Personally IMO rock music along with other known genres is something universal. The part with Plastic Tree suprised me though. I'm not the band's fan, but I once came across on their info, that they took a big influence from bands like Radiohead or The Cure. However these generic stereotyping terms (I mean Jrock, Jpop and Visual Kei, or even) are just massively overused when it comes to Japanese music. The reason why lot of pepole, including me, think, that this term is foolish is because under that name I usually see either bands that have made an opening/ending song for a popular anime series or visual kei. Some people hear it, they really say that it "represents" Japanese national sound *facepalm*. I really don't get it. Japanese music is trurely more than all of this, since if you take a close look you will find there a wide arrange of genres, like rap, rock, funk, metal, punk-rock and so on. Despite everything, people who aren't any familiar with Japanese music somehow buy all these ignorant stereotypes about music and it's fans, as a result giving us all bad name, like saying that anyone who listens to Japanese bands is a crazy otaku freak, which just disturbs me.

Yes, during the Vow Wow era with Genki Hitomi and Rei Atsumi they have gained more popularity overseas back in the 80s. They have released 7 albums (still close ) As for that rapper, I wonder whether is he aware about that. That's just dumb. They also changed their name into Vow Wow, in order to avoid confusion with Bow Wow Wow, a British new wave band.

Sorry if I have written it before, but since Visual Kei is over-exposed in a stupid way, among Japanese music fandom outside Japan, as a result stereotypes and biased cliches are being formed. I started listening to Japanese music in 2008. Everybody who has ever been into Japanese music, would know that there is an enormous amount of Japanese bands, that aren't visual kei, pop, (or what ever that many people tend to associate Japanese music with) have it's fanbase in homeland big. Also that vast majority does not listen to vk bands, barely ever has heard about. It's true that visual kei as a fashion is actually known and preety popular in Japan, however bands who derss up aren't. If you talk about that "J-rock" term (and all that tendence of adding "j-" in front of type of music that a Japanese artist plays), it's a foolish, useless umbrella term that has no place near music. I've also concluded that it's in general used by people (averagely some kind of weeaboos) who for some hilarious reasons want to feel special with their music tastes. Also in Japan with no doubt they just call rock music "rock" no matter if it's from Japan, USA or any other counrty. Why isn't American rock called A-rock, Brazilian rock B-rock, Swedish metal S-metal or French rap F-rap? "Jrock" may stand for Jamaican rock as well. Jordanian rock. Or whatever

Just got some of their albums, and they're perfect to get award of Japanese Scorpions. Paul's solo project sound hooking. It's quite adimrable that despite health issues he doesn't give up with rocking.

Besides as for these cliches, hardcore VK fans who bash DeG don't even see how Kyo improved his clean singing (Toguro, f.e.). The same goes for that invalid "american metal" cliche, who points out nationality without any sense. As for the incoming DVD's I'll be sure to buy them if there'd be a chance, since it's quite hard to get any releases from Japan in my homeland xp

As a Nirvana fan, I'm already interestingly excited and interested for it. Judging from bands that will cover each song it will definetly come out really great, and than it'd be awesome when the bands made such an album for Bleach and In Utero.

Since I've found out about all this ACTA bullshit, I always was damn afraid to see that something like this will eventually happen! And in the end, it just fucking did :x Yeah, sorry if I sounded hyped. But because I am Polish, and I'd just never think what low level can politicians, who for not even a long time, give embarassment to my countrymen and instead on caring about the nation they seem to spend time on competiting each other. I'm also extermely afraid how far will it go. Now many times I just keep imagining the Internet surfing being monitored and grassed on into dominion. Chance may be, but u know, the politicians of Poland are mostly nuts, it's even likely that Tusk will sign it and as a result privacy will get screw up. And in the following months the same might happen to rest of world. It'd be like cyber-stepping back to the communism rule days. @Jigsaw I signed the petition too, so let's now just have hope that it won't end badly.

The fresh news from the beggining of the year: According to what Fred said on his Twitter right there, that this year we can expect 3 new releases, namely next studio album, the Unquestionable Truth Part 2 and live DVD. Sounds really suprising, but let's see how Limp Bizkit will fulfill their New Year plans

Definetly for Hitman: Absolution Release date is 2012, but up to now the exact one hasn't been confirmed. Eidos has announced it with Glacier 2. This part even's going to be with bigger movie vibe. Hopefully despite not bringing on David Bateson and Jesper Kyd, new Hitman will turn out great!

I've just decided to make another thread of my favourite bands, this time for Nirvana. With them I started listening to rock, I was 12 back then (I know that in fact they were grunge, but I just didn't know exact genre names back then ). I love their "Nevermind" material the most, since almost everyone got into them with their "Smells Like Teen Spirit" hit. Many songs from In Utero like Rape Me or Heart-Shaped Box also belong to my favourites. Bleach is great as well, but yeah, Nevermind is definetly the masterpiece! I'm currently reading a book about Kurt's biography and band's history in general. Now let's discuss about this legendary band!
