I finally got enough money to visit abroad again. But I have to do some medical procedures first this year first, but omg omg I am so excited.

I think I actually have 3 this month so yay! Florence + The Machine - How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful It's splitting hairs to say if this album was released at the ass end of May or the first of June, but official first release was in May so I'm including it. This album is interesting because it's not as singalong catchy as Lungs, not quite as bold as Ceremonials, but somewhere in between with hints of 80s pop rhythms that give the atmosphere a surreal, dreamlike quality. HBHBHB has some quite gorgeous work, especially in the ballads, that cut to the core. So far the band has promoted the songs "What Kind of Man", "Ship to Wreck", "St Jude", and the title track "How Big How Blue How Beautiful". So I'm not going to bother upping a song because these are all wonderful representations of the album on their own. Every release I hear from this band makes me a little more obsessed with them! theCharmPark - Rebirth & Reverse I've become a huge fan of Charm since he's released his solo work (those who follow Best New Tracks have probably seen his name pop up more than once). While half of this album has already been released previously as singles, the album still found a way to feel fresh. 1 part lullaby, 1 part electropop, one part rock, the album has a wide spread of genres that all compliment each other and seamlessly blur the lines of the tracklist. No songs feel abrupt in their transitions or forced to stop and change gears at any point. Again, about half of this album is already up on youtube, so to save some time, I'll choose the tracks "リバース (Ribasu)", "Holding Hands", my personal favorite "Ribirudo" to suggest. Emery - You Were Never Alone The situation seemed pretty dire 2 years ago when Emery parted ways with their label and opened a campain on indiegogo to help produce this album. And while the album took a little longer than expected, the band made good on their promise with, arguably, their best work yet -- certainly their best selling so far. The "Bad Christian" post-hardcore group proved that with some loyal fans, some selective touring, a well timed album leak, and a ton of youtube videos, they never needed that stinkin' record label after all. And when I say "a ton" I mean it, easily 2/3rds of the album got youtube content to push the release.... so here's a few of my favorites, "thrash", "the beginning", and "rock pebble stone".

I chose "NOT" because if this is what not a pirolian sounds like, sign me up! I'm not the biggest sigure fan so I can't say whether these guys are a "poor man's" version. But I find the vocals much easier on the ears with soko. X"D And idk if I'd go so far as to claim plagiarism, but the riffs are extremely similar for a bar there, definitely. So I get what you're saying. And you really got an ear for finding these band similarities! I'm still in awe of the Heartless and the LOTUS mention from BNT. lol Nice review, agree with the rating, and can't wait to hear more from this band!

-Nasal vocalists, more-so when it's high pitched so a lot of pop female vocalists are lost on me! -Bad low "screams". You know those vocalists who can't really do low growls so they just pass off some horrible vocalizations into the microphone and try to pass it off as a scream? Even worse, bad "inhaled" screams. No. Just. No. Eh, I'm probably the most critical of vocalists. I can't help it.

I'm so happy people seem to like DOF's music so far. It is hard to say since, like you said, they only have a couple of singles released so far but I really liked how this song was different that the others. And while I enjoy the other songs quite a lot, they can kind of blend into each other and that can surely get monotonous. Good luck with the other releases! I recommend that odol album most of all.

LOL really? XD I have only listened to their Providence of BIONIC mini before this, but I didn't like it at all. I found PoJ to be much better. "Lament." was good to me because they didn't follow heavy verse, pop chorus formula like a lot of other songs, it followed a more traditional rock format. It also felt like they were trying to put across stronger emotions this time and not just follow a musical trend. But everyone enjoys different things, I suppose. You absolutely didn't slack. Some of us may have just had a lot more free time this month lol. OTL Your picks are great! Where are you finding these vk bands? Both Xenon from last month and Mediena are so good. Please keep it up! Considering Heartless is an old fave, that's quite a keen observation!
