I've never gotten around to posting in here as it's been a while since I got any work done. My half sleeve was supposed to have a cheery blossom tree in the bg (what a coincidence), but alas my artist up and moved and I got frustrated trying to find an artist to replace him. This was about 6 years ago so it's probably time I resumed the search and stopped being lazy. XD Also please excuse the ugly blue uniform, its first thing in the morning and I'm about to leave for work. lol

Alrighty then... updated! Though, I'm going to suggest a small change in having experimental / avant garde as one theme, and shoegaze / post-rock as a seperate theme. I also suggest both themes have extended time caps as many alternative genres don't adhere to pop format and 7 minutes may severly limit what people can play. Is anyone against a 10 minute cap for these 2 themes? (I'll edit this post later if we agree to reflect that) Also... would anyone be up for a punk / hardcore / post-hardcore theme? I had originally thought hardcore could go into extreme metal, but now I kind of feel like it would be more suited for a punk theme and leave metal to be ...well, metal. Upcoming theme: ??? I voted "can't decide" at first because I plan on giving Chanty's album a try soon. But I changed to pentagon because after listening to the videos, I enjoy pentagon's sound a lot more.

I'm pretty sure they did it on purpose to show the contrast and lead the viewer into a favorite for the upcoming battle. I didn't like either scene really (with the Boltons or Baratheons) because it feels forced in both cases. But I am looking forward to the battle if they just get on with it already. LOL Sir Friendzone just has the worst luck. Ever. And makes horribly questionable decisions.... I never thought I'd say it, but I am missing Brandon this season. I need more magic, and dragons. D; Also that Sand Snake scene... I can't. Worst "fight" scene I've seen on this show so far.

Awesome thread idea! This so interesting. Love the Dir en grey and Radwimps picks! Some personal faves of mine include: Though, if we're gonna talk Radwimps... mine is 実況中継. (starts about 0:23 and then main chorus outro riff) I just can't get enough of it. I really love the guitarwork in this entire song but that particular one makes me lose my mind. Mucc - 極彩 (0:26/main riff) Mucc has always done really guitar driven music (considering their guitarist is the main composer, surprise surprise) but this riff when first heard it just ripped my head off. And that feeling just never left me. I'm not a guitarist so I can't give you any technical reasonings. Just that it always left a really strong impression on me and was every bit as catchy as the vocal melody and really, more so. NoGoD - Mr. HEAVEN (intro/main riff) Same reason as above, only I feel like you could throw a rock and hit a NoGoD song with super solid riffage so this kind of comes down to personal preference. But I find this song beastly. FACT - slip of the lip (intro/main riff - but skip the first minute there's no music until then.) This may be the de facto signature FACT riff. I feel like this was the riff that launched a large portion of their fanbase. And rightfully so. It's catchy as hell. And it's one of the few from this era that wasn't swallowed up by their heavy electronic influences. It's just really fun and, back when I heard it for the first time, was unique sounding. It left it's mark on me. Hopefully I can edit in another pick later. But I basically picked songs that when I think of them... the part that comes to mind first is the guitar riff and not any other part of that song.

I have "hard rock/metal" already listed for themes to consider, but I'm curious if that and "extreme metal" should be considered 2 different themes?

I'm not sure again how long I can be there in Sunday. But I'll try to pop in for a few!
