I knew one of these singles was going to be a ballad. Seriously DaizyStripper, never stop. Ever since I've been listening to them back when they released their double albums BIRTH/LOVE, they have yet to release a CD that I don't like. These singles are the best, Stargazer having such a cool piano melody, MISSING being such a dark song, Uso to kagerou having that jazzy fast paced, and now this ballad

What? This song is loads better than ASSaulter or anything on SCUMS. The guitars sound like pure orgasms and YOMI's voice sounds better. I don't know if it's because of the production/equipment or if it's actually YOMI somehow getting better. I love the tempo to this song, it's fast and energetic

It's very hard for me to get distracted, but even then, I put my music on to be in a completely different world when I'm studying. Usually it's just my iPod playing my playlist of favorite tracks on shuffle. Most of the time, it ends up being some GazettE songs or Alice Nine. It takes me back and my brain starts functioning faster (or so it feels, it's a placebo type of effect)

EDIT: Usually, it also ends up being a playlist of songs that have some amazing lyrics in it because when I analyze the lyrics, as a writer, new songs start forming in my head and my brain starts to warm up.

    ^hahaha

I can agree that Byou's vocals are a bit off putting, but don't say Yomi's vibrato makes him bad, his vibrato is what makes him stand out as a good vocalist. It's not as dramatic as Asagi's and once again, that makes Asagi an amazing vocalist. It's controlled, not just going up and down in pitch loosely

Anyways, onto the album. DUALITY was a great album, Biran had some moments but not enough, and now SCREW comes in. The singles to this album are much more preferred than the crapstorm that was BRAINSTORM (unintentional pun). We can't really say anything much about their sound with self-titled albums. Self-titled always sound completely different because they always try meshing old styles with their new. That never works cause all people want to hear are the old styles of the band unless the band sounds better now in which case they just want the new style. SCREW, however, didn't do so badly here. This definitely is a step up, and I knew it was going to be good because their last two singles were one of the best ones I've heard since Cursed Hurricane. Now that SCREW is major, they are getting a tad bit better, slowly, but surely, which is a great thing.

Augie1995 got a reaction from togz in Meku from GALEYD leaving the band due to musical difference
Yes, it's true that Meku's skillset can be replaced but that's about it, you cannot replace the thoughts and technique styles that were brought to the table by Meku. Is Meku the sole composer of all songs GALEYD? No, but he might as well be called that. Toki did compose some of his own but even then that's not enough right now what with Meku's departure soon to happen. Toki is basically what Aggy was to DELUHI, most of the time he is barely audible and he took a backseat to most of what went on. Maybe live he's different, but in the studio he isn't. I can be blasting my studio headphones or my beautiful SONY speakers and try to focus only on the bass and I still won't be able to hear him. GALEYD is seriously suffering a major blow right here with the loss of Meku and like Zess said, if they do come back from this then it will be very surprising. Honestly, to me, Meku was the driving force of my passion for GALEYD. Will they maybe find a replacement who can play Meku's parts live? Sure. Will they find someone who can bring forth the awesomeness of Meku that reminds me so much of Leda? Not likely.

All I hope for is that Meku continues on, and to hopefully see GALEYD recover, however unlikely that might be. When you lose a member, the whole band tends to change style. We saw this with Lolita23q (even though a vocalist change is way more dramatic).

All right, well, after watching MELT live, I can say that MELT is so much better than their OMEGA live. OMEGA was a little dull except for SUICIDE CIRCUS performance but this one had so many good ones, the intro to Dripping Insanity, the transition to Kago no Sanagi, it was all so much better than OMEGA. I haven't gotten a chill during one of their lives since TOKYO DOME. I'm also glad that Ruki was finally creative with his voice. They got down the atmospheres for sure this time. Kago no Sanagi definitely had a very good atmosphere about it and they performed the acoustic section very nicely.

I was really curious to listen to this album after I've read about & heard bits of the direction he was taking, and it didn't disappoint!

Right off, Justice is a killer start, one of the best non-single tracks on the album actually. Speaking of, it's interesting to hear how much some of these songs changed compared to when he was playing them two years ago on tour - they suit the poppy polished atmosphere much more now, and have been "buffed up" both musically and lyrically, especially said opening number and the immensely fun and kinky Secret, another highlight for me. While most of the songs didn't come as a shock really, I have to mention the track Cry Like This - it just sounds so typically radio-pop it's uncanny (something Maroon 5 and the like would play). This would be one of the few songs that couldn't grab my attention, tho I have to admit the chorus is an "earworm", heh. I originally felt it was nice that they included Day 1 on the album too but ultimately I don't like the album version as much, I dunno, it just sounds a bit weird and out of place. Still, a rockin' song in itself. The ending track left a thing or two to be desired as well - I thought it was too happy-happy and cheesy but I could've expected that I guess - but all in all I almost thoroughly enjoyed this album, song-wise. Everything's just so catchy!

I also have to take note of the cool sound/production, they really hit the spot with this in my opinion. The added synths, effects and electronic beats combined with the superbly polished guitarsound work well together and mold the whole thing into an end product that's very easy and seamless to listen to. It's good that they didn't let these tweaks and add-ons overwhelm the actual songs and Miyavi's signature guitarplay of course. Overall, this is simply a fun and energetic album with just the right length and catchiness to make me wanna start it again as soon as it's over. Gotta applaud Miyavi and his crew, they did a brilliant job with this one! Can't wait for the tour to experience it live.

    | slick sound, awesome songs, catchy hooks and only a few duds - an immensely fun experience!

I don't know, I personally loved this album. Then again, it doesn't matter what his past discography was like, how un-majestic his vocals are, and how some songs have the lyrical genius of Lil' Wayne (I'm looking at you No One Knows My Name). Nevertheless, this album did what I wanted it to do: Give me some new Miyavi material and have those awesome, pumping guitar riffs that he is famous for (even though in some songs it seems like it's the same 3 riffs).

Is this album perfect or amazing? Not really, but it's way better than his previous album, the single songs are better this time around are better than his previous album, and I really love the production this time around.

The thing I most thoroughly enjoyed about this album was how all the songs were able to pump me up. With all the songs, I found myself dancing to the melody, randomly grabbing my guitar and playing along, or just jumping up and dancing and playing air guitar (Don't Judge Me). I actually just had a party with some friends, had this album playing (None of my friends know Japanese music), and this was loved and danced to at the party so it's not bad.

Augie's correct. The album will be released in Japan and on Japanese iTunes on 19.06.2013, but the album will be released in other countries both physically as digitally in October. I wonder why only October, considering they probably don't have to translate much lyrics (seeing as as far as I heard from the previews everything is in English). Then again, I don't really know the process of something like this.

    Completely 2nd this, also adding:
ViViD - Lately.... HAHAHAHA! Sorry, thought I would open with a joke.
Matenrou Opera - I loved their old stuff but their new stuff sounds a lot more better and I am hooked by every release. I think it's because of the better production on their stuff and that gorgeous new album of theirs
Periphery - They used to be an all djent mathcore band but lately they've been getting lighter on the djent stuff and have some more awesome songs!
Vistlip - It might just be me but they were awesome then, but now they are getting better. CHIMERA was pretty good, GLOSTER has to be the heaviest, sickest release yet by them, and their latest album was better to me than prior ones.

Nocturnal Bloodlust - Everyone was fearful of them going VK, but I feel their songs are even stronger now.

UNITE! - Their first album was decent, but they really shined with their second album. Catchier songs and more versatility with the second album...well versatile compared to the first album.

Anyways, this album I had absolute high hopes, the highest. After fully listening to the album, I could tell that no matter what, this album would always surpass them. Everyone though that them becoming visual kei meant their sounds was going to go downhill but to me they sound exactly the same. This album was absolute top notch. Insane guitar work from Cazqui and Daichi, amazing vocals by Hiro and Natsu and Masa have their unique touch to the sound. This definitely has to be the heaviest album that is actually superb to come out this year or the last. Looking forward to their future releases and also going to wait for a top quality version of the album to show up.

I thought this forum was so that we can review the releases made by the artists, not review the comments left behind by others?

I'm not going to lie, I've only heard at least half of these songs before. I got into Japanese music back in 2010. Therefore, half of these songs are basically new songs to me.

I can't exactly say whether they completely destroyed for me the original song with the new remake, I honestly have no problem with any of the songs here. The only thing that really brings me back to DSS is the guitars' effects, but I do feel like Unraveling might be a DSS leftover, even though it's still a good song and I loved DSS. Macabre is a freaking awesome song that I thoroughly enjoyed throughout it's entirety. I've always loved the unplugged versions of songs, so I was very pleased to find out that they did not have a certain "plain" quality to them where I would end up being bored.

While I would have preferred a new CD with NEW material, I rather enjoy the remakes here and I am quite satisfied with this for now.
