False chords can be low, mid or even sorta high. So maybe the low false chord is actually a growl? Or it belongs to the false chord group? I honestly have no idea, you could maybe send a message to SpreadLoveLikeSex on YouTube, he's a skilled screamer/singer, he could have the answer to your question.
  4. Have you ever been so baffled by a person's behavior/words that you truly had no idea whether they were joking or being 100% serious? And if the latter was the case, there was probably something seriously wrong with the person? Like, seriously. Seriously. Wrong.

Now, I'm no expert in harsh/metal voice techniques, but this is how I see the difference between a death growl and false chords. My understanding of false chords is that it's the techniques metalcore and deathcore vocalists use. This is a song most people are probably familiar with. I've always thought Matt Tuck was very skilled at screaming. The "Let's go" at the beginning is an example of a false chord technique, just like the part at 0:50. Death growls are much more guttural sounds, especially in the case of this example. I know that Johan Hegg is one of the biggest idols to people who want to learn how to growl. I chose this song 'cause I was listening to it while typing this up, it's purely random, all of Amon Amarth's songs are pure-growls. I might be wrong about the false chords thingy, if anyone has different knowledge, please do share. In the case of the death growl, though, you can be sure this is one of the best examples anyone could give you.

Can I hug you? I mean, this sounds way too much like myself. Everyone around me seems to find it easy to find people they're interested in very fast. Like, they walk into a bar and within 3 minutes they'll have scanned the whole area and located at least 2 potential partners. Somehow my attraction to others isn't based on looks - sure, I can say "this guy's hot" when I see someone attractive, but it doesn't make me immediately interested in him. I need to get to know the guy, judge his intellect, look for common interests, make sure our personalities won't clash. Besides, I'm not the most outgoing person out there. I'm very sociable and people generally like me, but I don't enjoy going out very often as I like spending time by myself. I don't actively look for a relationship and maybe for this reason have been told a few times that I'm too "hard to get" and "scare guys away".

That's a hard one, I guess it depends on what I wanna eat in the exact moment. Udon right now. If you could pick a European country to live in (besides your own if you're from Europe), which one would you choose?

While I've had quite a few periods when my music direction shifted (can't really call it a change of taste), I've never been ashamed of the bands I used to listen to. I might not listen to them these days much or even not at all, but that doesn't mean I am embarassed by the fact that I used to like them. I used to have a best friend who liked VK just like me. We ended up drifting apart and after some time I stopped listening to almost all VK for around half a year. During these months, I listened to some Kpop as one of my current closest friends introduced me to some groups. However, in the end I found out that it wasn't really my thing and started listening to most of my beloved VK bands again. Later on I learned that my ex-best friend told my other friend that she was surprised how easily I stopped listening to VK and traded it for "shitty" Kpop. At this point she wasn't listening to any Japanese music anymore. It's quite funny, really, as I've never entirely stopped listening to Japanese music, never really got into Kpop, and now this ex-bff of mine is a huge Kpop fan who finds all VK "shitty". I don't get this.

Remember what fun song they used to make, like Zansatsu Fiction ;w; It ended with X-RAYS for me, that was the last mildly listenable album. I'm not even willing to sell it 'cause I'm emotionally attached to it. I'm gonna give this a listen just because of the title, though.

I'm a PC gamer. I actually have DA:O on PS3 as well, but damn, the controls for the combat are much better for PC, I think. I love the game so much I've replayed it a few times, but somehow I can never force myself to make the "evil" decisions (let Redcliffe fall, defile the Ashes etc.) I actually reaaaaally enjoyed DA2. I mean, I know its areas are repetitive and you're pretty much confined to one city plus several surrounding areas, but I loved the story and companions. It was also very nice to have an actual family, even though its members might end up dead :/ I think the problem was that the game was rushed. I hope they take their time with Inquisition to make it perfect. But the gameplay previews and stuff look absolutely terrific and I'm very very excited about the return of Morrigan and Varric, and the fact that you can play as a Qunari 8D The combat looks way more strategic, just like it was in DA:O, but with the dynamic and fluency of DA2, so I really can't wait for the game to be released
  14. cruel-crucible

Over the past two months I've replayed Dragon Age: Origins and I also started a new DA2 playthrough. It's my first time with a male Hawke. I had planned to make him a blood mage and a force mage, but since I'm playing on hard and don't wanna carry Anders around everywhere, I had to make him a spirit healer :/ It's fun to see the game from a male perspective, though. These days I'm playing Tomb Raider II, haha.

  18. There, you won't see me upload anything for a long while.

Most of my collection, unfortunately. My tastes haven't changed, but I got tired of several artists I used to like originally. I used to be a huge Phantasmagoria fan, but the constant "disbanding" stuff had worn me down and IDK what to do with all their CDs/DVDs. Been trying to sell them, but nobody seems to care about the band anymore, lol. There was also a time I was hooked on the Korean group 2PM and I have a lot of their stuff as well, so I kinda regret buying that, too. There's still a lot of CDs I'm glad to have, though.
  20. cruel-crucible

And then you go to a festival and it's just the same songs once again, very disappointing
  21. cruel-crucible

It's weird when bands don't change setlists. I mean, I've heard a bunch of artists say they get tired of playing the same stuff over and over so they tend to have several different setlists and change them around. There's always something new to come up with, like playing different songs in your country of origin, throwing in a funky cover once in a while, playing crowd favorites based on previous experience/polls..
  22. Thanks for pointing out the sampling rate, I forgot to change it after ripping DVDs. I'm working on 44.1 kHz rips, so you guys be patient. A RevleZ PV has to finish uploading first.

  23. cruel-crucible

That's the problem of seeing bands only during certain later tours - you don't get to hear most of your old favorites. I'd love to hear them perform Hunting Pirates, but as I had no chance of seeing them when they were touring with the Stand Up and Fight album, I'm most likely never gonna hear that song live :/ Same for The Messenger and Midnight Sacrifice. At least they keep playing One More, which is probably my favorite song by TURISAS in general.
  24. cruel-crucible

My opinion revolves around that philosophy, though. It depends on your preferences. If I find that the screams/growls fit the music, I don't even think about them unless I want to analyze the song. They're just "there" just like the bass line or the guitar riffs. For the screams/growls to be outstanding and make an impression without focusing on them, they have to "click" with the music, so it makes you go: "Wow, this part of the song kicks ass". I'm used to death growls and screaming, Amon Amarth is one of my favorite bands, and since I suppose most of you are familiar with them, you know that Johan Hegg growls all the time. 80% of the metal music I listen to contains growling and screaming. It just seems all natural to me, so your exposure to the techniques probably means a lot as well. I showed my classmate Megaromania's APOCALYPSE PV and that was his first time hearing any screams in a song. He said he liked the music, but not the screaming. Honestly, I didn't even realize there was any screaming. I'm used to it. I do notice it when I don't like it, however. I had someone tell me once that they liked ClearVeil Saki's screams in "Cold prey". I love ClearVeil, but damn, I've always found those screams dreadful. Whenever the screaming parts come on, they just startle me, they seem so out of place. But hey, someone else liked them, so are they necessarilly bad? I bet you could make Maria Cross' "screams" sound good in the right type of a song. You can judge a vocalist's singing quality based on hitting the right notes, but how do you judge screaming/growling? These are just animalistic, raw, and guttural sounds, I don't think there are any quotas you have to fulfill in order to be called a "good growler". I don't think you can tell just by hearing whether the technique is good or bad in terms of vocal cord damage, so you can't even judge by that. You can admit that Adele is a great singer because of a wide vocal range and whatnot, but still dislike her 'cause you don't like the color of her voice, or maybe her music. But how do you classify someone as either good or bad at screaming/growling? I really have no idea, please, tell me? 'Cause otherwise it just falls down to what sounds good to your ears in the end.
