    Damnnnnn there's this amazing Viking-themed bar here in Copenhagen, I'd totally ask them to pour me some ale into that horn if I had it, haha.

    Hmm, the music is really cool, I love Celtic/Irish stuff, but the vocal melodies are kinda... off? IDK, I might like it more after a few more listens The instrumental part is really great, though. Interesting to see a band from Brazil making this kind of music. DID YOU GET THE LIMITED EDITION OF BTLOTNS??? :OOOO I wanted that drinking horn so bad, didn't manage to snatch a lim.ed. myself, though. Got the album waaaaaay later, money issues ;~~;

    Eric the Red is quite popular, actually, I was refering to Land. Many people seem to have found it boring? Maybe because of the two long tracks ("Ocean" and "Land"), but idk, I really love that album. It's exactly the NS thingy which kept me from listening to them. But I'll definitely give them another chance now that they've dropped it, I'm always up for some Slavic stuff <3

    Wow! Kagerou was actually my very first Japanese band, got into them a month after they disbanded

    HNNNNG. Týr are most likely my favorite band in general, so I'm glad you liked the album ;A; Funny thing is, I like "Mare of my Night" the most out of the whole album and totally dig the lyrics, I only have to be careful not to sing it in public, haha. I feel like "Valkyrja" went for a more progressive sound than the other albums, but that might be just me. I don't think I can pick a favorite album, would most likely go for either "Eric the Red" or "Land" (which, for some reason, isn't very popular among the fans? idk). As for "By the Light of the Northern Star", I really love "Turið Torkilsdóttir" and "Ride". And it sucks that I keep missing Týr's concerts, when they're close to Slovakia, I'm in Denmark and when they're in Copenhagen or somewhere in Skåne (Malmö, most likely) I happen to be in Slovakia So I'm really hoping to see them live one day as well.

    Agree with Bear on Ereb Altor! Also, it's way past "new", but I haven't seen it being discussed here, I think, so: Týr's latest album, Valkyrja! Good? Bad? Better? Worse? I personally enjoyed it a great deal. These guys have yet to disappoint me.

    I'm not very keen on digital releases since I really enjoy the material CDs, but I might actually get this one as a digital. I've spent too much money on VK releases and Amon Amarth concert ticket, so the 7 euro for the digital copy is kinda agreeable. It sounds really great.

    Nice music taste! Welcome to the jungle~

    Woaaaaahh. I haven't been this excited about a half-session band since Anmin Kigan.

    Wow, Champ, I am SO following you. For the sole reason that you follow woodendreams (shameless advertising - you should follow inatt, he's a wonderful photographer and my friend so he's cool ok) My tumblr has suprisingly little VK in it, it's mostly landscape/nature photos and ocassional pagan and folk stuff. And fantasy books. And Star Wars. http://pixyland.tumblr.com/

    Previews of all album tracks except for two can now be listened to on their OHP

    Rio from Secilia Luna is a girl as well
  18. Arithmetica, you deserve a medal. Every single thing is spot-on. And as for the comic fans, believe me, they're batshit crazy as well pretty often. This DC vs. Marvel war is annoying and even those who like both can get pretty terrible as well with their entitled attitudes of how you should just love everything and everything is amazing and no no no the Green Lantern movie wasn't that terrible and nooooo Jane Foster totally rocks and why would we want Sif as Thor's partner I mean movies are srs bsns and screw the actual comics. Yeah. Edit: To comment on the metal thing, though - although I don't get involved in the debates, it's kinda meh when Ensiferum are labeled as "viking metal" even though they have nothing to do with the Vikings whatsoever.
  19. cruel-crucible

    Yeah, most of them have moved to Tokyo. But maybe the ones laying low for now will form bands under these labels? Some former UCP bands were originally Nagoya-based, so maybe some Nagoya bands will come running to these two labels as well.

    Megaromania - Heaven's Novel It just didn't work for me, idk :/ They had better ballad-ish songs than this. Metis Gretel - Maiden I feel like I might get crucified for this 'cause most people seem to love this song It's not bad, it's just nothing special for me. Phantasmagoria - Glitter Eheheh. Fun at lives for all the furi and dancing, but otherwise just meh ClearVeil - The future of despair (mini) All songs except for the title song are weaker than most of their other stuff. Turisas - Turisas2013 (album) This is the one where most fans will agree with me - it feels like no effort whatsoever was put into making of this album. That's just some, I don't want to spam the thread ;A; Edit: Gotta add one more: DIAURA - anti people I love this band to bits, but ugh.
  21. It probably depends on what kind of person you are. Saying "oh, you shouldn't dislike a band just because of fans, that's lame" isn't very nice as some people put great emphasis on being part of the community. If it's important for them to settle in and get along with others, and they experience something nasty, of course they'll be put off and those feelings can very easily influence their view on the band itself. I've never really gone through anything like that, but I do dislike many of Gazette's and Diru's fans on tumblr. You can't state anything negative about these two unless you're ready to get a ton of angry anonymous messages. I can be a bit discouraged from listening to a band if any of their members is/are oversexualized by the fangirls, though. Like what many of these "anon roleplayers" on tumblr do. It just makes me go "Oh dear, cannot unsee...".

    I am the same case, apparently. Or at least similar. I'm just not a very clingy and touchy-feely person so I may seem kinda distant and hard-to-get. I also don't like it when people get overly physical with me, I only tolerate it with my best friend. Constant messaging and calls annoy me as well, it feels like being observed and on a leash all the time. I love being alone and doing stuff by myself. I don't know. I'm happy being single. Sure, I'd love to find that special someone, but that person needs to understand me first and it seems that most people just don't
  23. I'll go with Lycaon's Chains of collar. I don't really dig Lycaon (haven't heard much of their newer stuff, anyway), but I really liked that one song.
