  1. Hopefully this album is a step up from Holy Grail, the only good song worth going back to play that was on Holy Grail is Judicial Noir and that was a B-side from the singles haaaa.

    Y U NO LIKE MASQUERADE?

I hate the chorus, it builds up all this energy and does nothing with it.

    YEAH, FOR REAL! Wtf!

  2. But to be honest... Holy Grail wasn't that brilliant, I agree. But i'm scared about english songs... They've said, they will make more songs with english lyrics.. That could be a tragedy, I think. But anyway, it's still nice...!

    For reaaaaaal??? :/

I'm so tired of English songs. They haven't gotten any better since Revenant Choir.

Just curious Hyato, when/where did they say that they would be doing more "songs with english lyrics"?

I think Kamijo has undoubtedly improved his Engrish since the first version of Revenant Choir. That wasn't even Engrish, just ingurishu. I could at least understand a few lines in "Love Will Be Born Again." HOWEVER, it's still not on a level (imo) where I think he should be singing full songs. It's still waaay too clumsy sounding.

In any case, I've been re-listening to Versailles (it's been a while) and I'm definitely looking forward to the new stuff. I hope we get the official announcement soon though. April is just around the corner.

Yeah, its not so much his grammar or word usage I dislike, as much as it is his accent and the way it makes his voice sound . . .

  4. D'espairsRay's fandom is actually nice now that they've disbanded, which is weird because there was so much ill-will, elitism and nastiness among fans beforehand. I mean, as someone who's been in D'espairsRay fandom for years, I couldn't stand it. I've had friends attacked at their lives for wearing the wrong clothes and not being a "proper fan." A group of girls literally tore at her clothes and hair. There was a lot of backstabbing and drama. The thing about D'espairsRay wank is... when it happens, it's vicious but it's always contained and very few people find out about it

... I don't know, D'espairsRay fans are really intense and enthusiastic (which is great when it's about supporting the band, not so much when it's hate-fueled). A lot of people on the outside think of the D'espairsRay fanbase as nice, but back then it was pretty horrible.

Haha, well I must not have paid attention to the fandom as closely as I thought! I gained interest about the time they were about to release Mirror and everyone seemed cool at that time - then there was a long period I lost interest and was engrossed in other fandoms so since I got back into them, the worst drama I've seen is when they released Horizon and about two years ago over the tour cancellations.

And I agree, any enthusiasm should be purely band-inspired, rather than hate inspired.

  5. ^ Well, reference to 2010's Prana/Fatima just goes to show how much anyone has been paying attention to Sugizo, lol.

He released two new albums in December and six new singles - so I take back my comment on him not being relevant.

Miyavi on the other hand . . . didn't exactly do much? :/

  6. @sebbivism: I'm sorry, but that's one point I disagree on with you. Children taking the day off from school to go wait in line for a whole day at a concert? "My parents didn't allow me to attend?" Not all v-kei fans are like this. I missed Versailles once, D, abingdon boys school, -OZ- AND Girugamesh, all because their gigs were not in the weekend and on days I had tests or other kinds of exams. This is the reason my parents wouldn't let me go. I'm not telling them I'm sick just so I can go to a concert, school is more important in my book. I could never skip tests for a concert, I would feel too guilty for it afterwards. So don't go blaming these kids for the cancellation of your show, thank you very much. Not everyone can do whatever they want. People going without their parents' permission is also lame, way to ruin the family mood.

Nothing is wrong with having higher priorities than bands. In fact, those were the same reasons why I haven't attended a single J-Rock (or any rock) concert yet.

The problem is these same kids keep asking for bands to come to their country, probably knowing full well ahead of time they won't be able to attend. I'm sure experience will tell people that 1) most J-Rock shows fall on school days/night 2) most J-Rock shows are a considerable distance away from most people's home towns (especially if you live in America) 3) most J-Rock shows are expensive or cost some sort of money 4) most J-Rock shows require attendees to be a certain age 5) and probably to a lesser degree of importance - its a rock concert, with probably some questionable/adult material some parents may frown upon their kids seeing

If you can't go and you're too overwhelmed with priorities and too unwilling to put them aside to attend - or you're too young to even go, then what's the point of petitioning for these bands to come in the first place? If its to give other people who can go a chance, then you're very mistaken. Sounds stupid and pointless to me. In that case, these bands ARE better off just catering to their local, Japanese fans. A lot less risky.

  7. 2878 songs, 20.33 GB, 8.1 days on iTunes. Wow, I'm pathetic. :(

Then again, I try to only keep music I actually know I'll listen to and do periodic purges of files I hardly ever touch . . . or else it'd probably be MUCH bigger.

  8. I agree that they should be upset with people that share fan club material. Why should I bother getting a fan club membership if someone is going to scan it and share it anyway?

Yeah, I have to agree with this as well.

Public photographs in Twitter icons are one thing, but I think fan club material should be somewhat special. People pay a lot to be members and those benefits should be for those people alone. Seems pretty fair to me and from what I've heard, no one is missing out on any huge secrets or information if they don't join.

  9. Would you be kind and post the original text (yes, not a translation) and one of the source pages, KILLINSTINCT? I am not kinda believing in that, considering the fact that most PS-related twitter/myspace avatars were left "unharmed".

The OP's version of the original post was in English.

Here is an example from the "alicenineofficial" MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/alicenineofficial

The Gazette's and SuG's page has a different version: http://www.myspace.com/thegazetteofficial

  10. From my personal experience - D'espairsRay fandom. They are pretty laid back, not too stuck up but not too many idiot, delusional fangirls among their ranks either. They aren't afraid to offer criticism of the band, but they aren't incessantly whiny and derogatory about changes the band makes and they maintain a positive, sane outlook. Even their fangirling is moderate.

I remember some years back (2004, 2005?) DespairsRay had their first live on USA, or something, and a fangirl made a huuuge fangirl post on Livejournal about it.

Of course it included the typical 4.000 word part about the pre-live ("went with mimi-chan and kiki-chon and we ate ramen lol so kawaii!") noone cares about, but then the actual live-report was just about one thing: how she grabbed the vocalist's crotch and didn't let go. Apparently the vocalist encouraged the behavior, etc.

That's all I remember when I think of "despairsray fanbase" (which thankfully isn't frecuent).

Yeah, there are a few really hyper fangirls (but hey the band apparently endorses it!) but I know many more who behave as I described and a bit of fangirling is always better than stuck-up elitism or wank drama llamas. Plus, they are a metal band - metal concerts aren't supposed to have the atmosphere of a church service/poetry reading.
