I'm confused as to what exactly this project is. Is it a self cover or a tribute by other artists? I'm not super thrilled with the track list either way, so I may just not listen.

Basically both things are coming...this first one should be just a self cover album with some guest artists (maybe they thought it was too many to release 3 greatest hits in 6 months...) and then, in October/November there should come the real tribute album done by other artists.

Tweener-me stanned this band so hard when A Beautiful Lie came out, but when they basically sold out starting with their third album with making mainstream ~revolution rock~ and venturing onto Maroon 5-tier pop music, I stopped listening to them altogether. It also didn't help that Jared Leto was becoming more of a celebrity and letting the fame get into his head. :/ Such a shame...

I have that feeling with A Beautiful Lie  I remember pre-ordering their selftitled album after just downloading the Capricorn video from one of the  music video rippings groups in IRC (there was no YT at that time), didnt even know Jared Leto was involved and then...they become very generic

  3. From Japan:

人格ラヂオ:  Thier first releases were great...but most of the stuff they did after their comeback is pretty mediocre being generous.

Roach: Pretty much the same feeling as with 人格ラヂオ, but with them is a bit worse as they seem to "deny/forget" their first works.

Western bands, many of them...and always for the same reaons, the most notorious examples:

30 seconds to mars: Such a great first CD, and then...

Sugar Ray: really, wth happened with them...

Incubus: The pretty much became an elevator music band

I'm pretty sure that foreign fanbase is an afterthought at best.

That said though, I attended the entire tour and didn't see one single of the many Chinese people present break out in tears, rip their Dir shirts to shreds or try to suicide bomb the venue. I didn't see a single overtly supremacist statement or controversial point beyond a very mainstream "free tibet" deal which makes sense based on their Buddhist backgrounds. It's about as dangerous and edgy as wanting to free Syria from ISIS.  I think it's safe to say these "problems" mostly exist in your head, and to be frank you present them in such a convoluted way that I think most people aren't even sure of what you're trying to say.

Let that be an end to this for now, we don't need any "Dir en grey are supremacists" discussions based on hearsay.

Well, taking into account how oversensitive Chinese people are (and in that issue even more), that could be the "end" of their career in mainland China (eventhough not sure if they have a career over here, apart from a couple of gigs)...as example, Placebo were supposed to play in a Chinese music festival in Shanghai this summer (as part of the Chinese branch of Summer Sonic...along with Luna Sea among others) but they got banned for life from China for posting a Lama picture with a quote in Instagram...

  5. Zigzo

    The Birthday

    The Mad Capsule Markets

    The Back Horn

    Thee Michelle Gun Elephant

Lili Chou-Chou (though it wasnt a "real" band)

    Yen Town Band

    Roach

    Maximum the Hormone

I guess I would like Rosso too, but never listened to them on detail...just jumped from TMGE to The Birthday.

For the 10th one I would say something like Th eRockers or similars...but I'm not that into them to put them in a top...so just 9

  6. People singing in concerts rude??? Most of the times u can see the artist are having like "the time of their life" when people sign with them (one good example is Noel Gallagher in Argentina)...I guess is just different cultures and way of being, I have the same feeling as you when I see some shows in Japan and people are like in a funeral without even clapping between songs :D

That's why you do it in Japan where the audience is nice and quiet during songs XD

I mostly did it for the same reason as sads, to have a memento of the concerts I went to that I can listen to whenever I want. Without recording concerts, we'd also miss out on all sorts of crazy 'one time only' things that would otherwise be lost to time.

Didnt they say before the concerts that no recordings are allowed? (at least in the 3 lives Ive seen in Tokyo it was like that)

And I have the feeling that while doing all the recording etc. etc. stuff ppl misses a big part of the show, they have to be quiet to not ruin the audio, still to have a good image, checking the phone from time to time to see everything is ok...Dunno, I just miss the times when you went to a concert and nobody was holding a cellphone or similar...just a few traditional small cameras to take a couple of pics.

Didn't Silver Ash try, but were forced by the government to tone it down? Or  was that just typical 2000s-era gossip that was never verified?

I remember a few years ago, one morning going to class and saw and ad from them in the street (I live in Beijing)...at that moment I was running late so didnt have time to check it, 3 hours later when going back home the ad was already gone...it was a shame because at that time I used to listen to some of their music frequently so I was hopping to be something about lives or similar. Maybe it was a coincidence that only their stuff was removed...

As for VK taking off in mainland China I doubt it very much, anything that is not the typical pop or very soft rock is not going to appear in the media, sometimes there may be some exceptions like Dir en Grey coming to Beijing, but I feel the most normal will be (specially with the anti foreign/a bit racist orientation the gov has taken in the last times) that the bands find any kind of problems (like X-Japan when tried to come to Beijing).

Is a bit old, but if any one is interested in the underground punk/rock scene can try to watch "Beijing Bubbles".

I don't think their previous bands sound will affect Jupiter imo

here's some ROACH in case you don't know them

    their latest video

Didnt Daisuke left Roach due to health reasons?

I haven´t really followed them the last couple of years, but I remember watching some notice about it in their twitter...I thought he would retire from being in a band 100% of the time.

  10. Hi all

On sept 23 I'm going to their end of tour show...I already have the ticket but I have one question...supposedly with their last CD came one pass for the rehearsal (I have that paper) but I haven't find any other info on the time etc. about the rehearsal...anyone knows anything about it? Should I just go there during the morning and wander around Yoyogi  :-D

    thank you in advance!

Like everyone else said, such people exist everywhere. I remember hearing about a man volunteering to be eaten by someone else and they ate the man's penis together, or something like that xD. I think it was in Europe, but I don't remember where XD.

didnt it happen in Germany? I remember Rammstein had some song (Mein Teil, not sure if its writting like that) about something similar and even in live shows they made a representation with the singer cooking the keyboards guy  .

I think the disturbing thing about Issei Sagawa was the fact that he became kind of a "celebrity"

But probably we all have our share of ****** crazy people...I remember the Fritzl case a few years ago...or the 3 girls kidnapped for many years too in the US that was discovered 1-2 years ago...maybe they werent killed but the sickness of those guy kind of matched those from the OP.

Having said that...since I live in China (like 6 years) i think the number of this kind of people and situations are higher here that in other places in the world...cases like those almost happen every month
