I wonder if Japanese fans of Visual Kei also notice and criticise how the emulation of old school Visual Kei seems to always be reduced to Dir en grey's influence...

I'm of the agreement that it sounds solid but I'm not either fond of the Homage kei philosophy of Dir En Grey being the only 90s visual kei band in existence apparently. 

I thought the same! It seems that for nowadays scene old-school=ZAN... If their plan is to just emulate, there are a ton of bands to get inspiration...

Nice they're trying with 90's VK sounds, but the tracks sound somehow weak. It's like most bands that bring back old school VK focus on pre-GAUZE era Dir en grey while there is a vast number of bands to take influence from that seem pretty much ignored/forgotten such as Aliene Ma'riage, Syndrome, Lar~Mia, AZALEA, etc.

I can hear guitar being played. Very unusual in this band whose music is saturted with computer-generated sounds.

If Malice Mizer revived I think that would be such an awaited announcement that the band could not ignore a world tour.

Same line-up, except for Teru -  Takamasa (their original guitarist) replaced him for that live.

Good to see there wasn't a repeat performance of the members forgetting the lyrics to Ryunen on the Contrary like in their last live, lmao.  "Toki in farewell lalalala~"
 
 
 

I don't know why bands like this have guitars and bass, they're literally just accessories.
 
Bring back the times when Visual Kei bands had guitars and a bass being the music line with nice hypnotising solos and etc.

I think the musicians are good, but I feel like this band lacks something musically. It's like the songs are somehow soulless, repetitive and cliche to some extent. Probably working on solo intros with some level of complexity, emotion and beauty could fix it. I also feel the vocal is always in some kind of comfort zone where his singing is sort of monotone; his singing needs melodic fluctuations.

Could you please provide details if possible? When was this article/interview published? What it is about? Is it known how old YUKARI is now? etc.
 
I had already lost all hopes of seeing or hearing anything new about YUKARI. He seemed to have vanished from the surface of the planet, but there he is!!

Kind of liked this sample, but the tired synth I always complain about gets me on my nerves. No need for such overused irritating sound. He instead needs a leading guitar with powerful lines to fill his music.

Didn't like it, especially the overused annoying synth that many VK bands use today.
LADYBABY made it in the beginning but this has no potential overseas I'm afraid.
