I really don't think it changed that much. It actually used to be hard as fuck to get even some regular releases back in the days, uncomplete discographies were so normal... today I even see some live dist come up now and then... but anyways, you say you'll buy from now on. Do you intend to share and be part of the solution? if that's the case, all the props to you!

i would prefer individual lists so i could load the pages. too many things loading on one page slows down the page when you first open it. i'm sure we've all noticed that with this year's list.

i'll probably do mine in early Jan after the rest of my CDs for 2016 come in

I'd add A Tribe Called Quest (I respected them before but never really loved them because they were before my time, but the new record is really good) and Young Thug (haven't gotten tired of his kookiness yet).

Man, I loved that movie. I love realistic, slice of life stories and that one always hits close to home.

@chemicalpictures はじめました means to have started doing something. so literally, 絶望、はじめました。 would be "i've started doing despair," or in better English, "i've begun to despair." but actually, it's more than that. when a Japanese person says he/she is 絶望, the immediate connotation is that he/she does not want to do anything, and never that they are motivated to do something. so putting 絶望 together with はじめました is self-reflexively ironic, and it's likely that it's meant to be read 'playfully' along those lines. and thanks for the vote for confidence lol... i'm actually teaching in the university haha ^^

@hirokioh, I see! that makes a lot of sense! you would make a fine teacher, man lol! just out of curiosity, what that release name (絶望、はじめました。) actually means?

ahaha, i see. yeah, some words can have very different meanings when changed subtly.

@chemicalpictures in this case はじめまして is a fixed expression that historically derived from the same root verb as はじめました but has since evolved to become idiomatic in the Japanese lexicon, so it's probably not a good comparison.  to give an example, the phrase "see you around" has accrued more cultural meaning as a phrase than what each component of the phrase individually signifies when put together.

that would be correct if you translate it literally, except it sounds a bit awkward in english (one of the biggest struggles of translating japanese). i would put an "and" after despair to make it sound somewhat smoother. or maybe i might even translate it to "despair, and how do you do?". not sure if that was helpful. :/

Invade is super dope, I also think it's their best. I'm a big fan of Jey but I really think it's the most interesting he's been since FIXER started.

yeah, I can't quite pinpoint what's the rationale besides releasing songs for some easy cash. The thing is, SuG is also at their best when doing angsty-edgy vibe... for example, they can't go harder than MISSING or punkier than Smells Like Virgin Spirits, and those are some fucking good tunes. their BLACK album is pure teenage drama, and it's their best one so far. KILL KILL is more or less the same as SICK'S or Luv It to me: meeting their contract's release quota and securing some sweet year end money

So @AimiGen7the thing with SuG is they go from making really good music to trying to make edgy songs that 12-14 year old angry teens  will like.  Usually those songs aren't the greatest. But SuG always had a very...'youthful' sound? I don't know how to put it, sort of fun and a bit dumb. 
 
SHUDDUP really is a lame attempt at being edgy, I think after their european tour they wanted to try more of the punk scene. Takeru said London's punk scene really inspired him, so judging by SHUDDUP their view of punk is rebelious, rude youth that hate their parents or something. I think if I were my 15 year old self I would've sung along to it, but this is a miss for me.

I love statuses like these because most of the time they're my exact thoughts too.
