I've been finding a lot of new bands I like lately, after not really bothering with many new ones for some years. But now like, most of the old ones I like are breaking up lol.

So I second DIAURA, AvelCain, Dezert, Grieva and I'd add Black Gene for the Next Scene, DIV, holyclock, Yeti, Gigamous, Trust and uh, Loud Grape is pretty cool too.

Also now watching Inu x Boku and Guilty Crown

Started watching Barakamon since I finished the manga, at least, as far as it went.

Really want to watch K Missing Kings though, but I can't find it anywhere. A bunch of sites with fake links to it, but nothing concrete. So annoying.

I have been known to enjoy Frank Sinatra.

That's interesting about Yuu. The composition used to be more equal between him and Kenichi. It's kinda wow that the latter only has one song here and what, none on BF?

This was really hard and I couldn't even stick to 10 like I usually do. Or include EPs.  There are two non-Japanese artists in there, but oh well, I'm not redoing it now lol. These aren't in order really either, but my absolute favorite of the year is, uh, highlighted. Honorable mention to TML.

Actually really enjoyed this album for the most part. The 9mm comparison is obvious though lol. But it's better than what they've been doing, so I ain't complaining. 

Only irritants were the pointlessly noisy 自意識過剰型木偶人間 and 群青 is weak.

Hide and Seek and the title track were probably my favorites after one listen anyway.

I'm a big fan of Scandal hurhur. Also FLiP, Kinoco Hotel, and Chatmonchy seems super old now, idk if they're still releasing stuff. Oh yes and Tsushimamire, saw them live actually and they're awesome. If we're just talkin' girl-fronted, then I gotta mention Jin, 101A and fra-foa, whom I know is defunct, but Idc, they were amazing.

Can't say I do, personally. I like old VK, but I also like "new" VK.  If I want to listen to 00's or 90s VK, I have plenty of bands to choose from, I don't need the new stuff to sound the same as the old.  Especially now that the new stuff is incorporating newer trends like electro and "core", which is pretty cool imo.  As for what they wear....lol it all looks ridiculous so who cares.

I always prefer to buy digital over CD if possible.  But since I'm too lazy to bother with Japanese giftcards blah blah, I have to hope they'll show up on Amazon or iTunes.  I prefer Amazon, but will use iTunes if I really want it and it's nowhere else.  I buy CDs through Amazon marketplace if it's there, if not then YesAsia and THEN CD Japan.

Not trying to say people need to like withering to death. but seriously, it's not nu-metal at all. Nu-metal has hip-hop or funk as a defining characteristic and wtd. has none of that. withering to death. goes between alternative rock and metal. I think maybe you're confusing it with Marrow of a Bone.

This. I got so many Korn vibes from Marrow lol.

I voted Vulgar, but tbh I really enjoyed ARCHE and maybe with more listens it has the chance of taking over.

Re:the earlier topic about One Ok Rock. I've always thought they were generic af too and the guy's voice was annoying to boot, but they caught my attention again with the Kenshin ending songs and it seems like at least their last album is pretty good. The singer finally has some character in his voice and doesn't so obviously sound like a former JE idol. Last thing I heard was either Kanjo Effect or Niche Syndrome.  Betting on the former though.

This has always really amused me lol, and it's not even just VK, there's certain song titles that are just everywhere.

Songs just called "Rain" - Luna Sea, Sid, Glay, Silver Rose, Back-On,  Buck-Tick, etc.
