I don't entirely agree, but at the same time I kinda do. Look at whatever L'arc's last album was and Hyde's most recent VAMPS album. Some really similar stuff on those.

This discussion of L'arc's "SONG" is simultaneously cracking me up and making me feel old, not to mention sad. Is Drink It Down seriously their song? Because when I first knew of them, The Song was pretty much Niji. In other words, entry-level weaboo answer might be the keywords describing all previous discussion here lol.

Others in order of playcount include Deli Spice, Bye Bye Sea, The Koxx, Daybreak, Achime, GUYZ, Sister's Barbershop, Royal Pirates, Glen Check, Lowdown 30 (they're actually blues-rock), Broken Valentine, Toxic, Witches, Galaxy Express, Electric Eels, Monni, Mary Story, Mate, Thornapple, Hanumpa, MoT and Actung

My suggestions: SPYAIR, FoZZtone, The Sketchbook, DOES, Straightener, Base Ball Bear, Monobright, Rookiez is Punk'd, Galileo Galilei, HaKU, Elephant Kashimashi, People in the Box, Czecho no Republic, UNCHAIN, 9mm Parabellum Bullet, Lacco Tower, Cinema Staff, Hemenway, androp, Fujifabric, FLiP, IN 197666....and I could probably go on lol but this already seems like a lot. :x Also, if you're into Korean indie alt-rock at all, I have a list just as big for that lol

Actually I've always wondered about this too. Like, why increase the space hit of some music with no upgrade in quality? Does. Not. Compute. Like, I have no problem with a 128 rip, I'd much rather have that than a 128 turned into the space-hogging file of a 320.

I forgot to add Merry. Used to love love love them, but when they decided to sound like every other omgdark!vk band ever, I just, nah. I have a million and one other bands in my library that sound like that, I don't need one more, and especially when that one more used to be unique. Honestly, first band I've ever been bitter about a new direction with.

Before I got sick of separating genres, I only had two folders for VK: major and indie lol. I may have also had angura and Nagoya folders alongside the aforementioned two. Another idea could be good vocals and bad vocals hahah.

My quick thoughts.... (mostly on vocals because that's my primary area of expertise lol) Believe it or not, Hyde's vocals were the absolute best of anyone here. At times he sounded EXACTLY like Morrie from back then. The chick on Serafine was awwwwwful with a capital A. Bad bad idea. She has no range and no passion or insistence. Sugizo was the only thing making that listenable. (Barely tho) Ryuichi, as much as I love him, can't cover Morrie. Period. Two completely different voices and styles. Tetsu from Nil and Yasu also did a good job on their songs. Though, Tetsu gets the edge because Yasu's song was way simple, almost no way he could have ruined it. Unless he was Kiyoharu. ;p For the most part, based on this thing alone, only Hyde has any business covering Morrie more than once. And I really hate to admit that, believe me.

As someone else touched on and I'm not positive it's unpopular, but it might be... I don't consider "illegal downloading" theft. Theft is the deprivation of something from its original owner with no intent to return it. IN this case, nothing is being stolen because someone bought the item in the first place and is simply sharing it with others...albeit a lot of others. Downloading music on the internet is exactly the same concept (just a lot easier) as going to the library, checking out a CD and then ripping it and keeping it or re-burning it. Or, back in the day, using a double cassette recorder to copy one cassette to a blank one. The only difference now is it's a LOT easier to do this type of copying, sharing, etc. It's a giant myth perpetuated by governments and record labels, stepping on our rights and no one should be buying into it. If I buy something, pay MY hard-earned money for it, no one, NO ONE, should be able to tell me what to do with it. If I want to share it with one person or dozens of persons, that's my right dammit.
