  1. Just finished re-watching Sokyuu no Fafner last night in preparation to start watching the new season... and damn I forgot how great a mecha show it is. Definitely one of the sleeper hits among mecha shows and totally gets a spot on my top ten mecha series list.

Soukyuu's a hidden gem and I will let everyone know whether they want to or not. I'm glad I discovered it and I'm glad it got a new season ._. All the death flags and all the drama though. This is going hard, I'm sure.

  2. Just started Nabari no Ou, just finished K.

Nabari is a great series (as a manga) but the anime sadly ruined the ending :/ The last few episodes are a mess :(

    ------------

Currently watching quite a bit like most of you...

Absolute Duo (If it weren't for Hanae and Matsuoka VAing...)

    Aldnoah.Zero 2 (I had to...)

    Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (ridiculous but entertaining)

Death Parade (Interesting premise. Hope they can keep it great till the end)

Durarara!!x2 Shou (I love this series a little bit too much)

Kuroko no Basket 3 (Never boring with Kurobasu)

Shinmai Maou no Testament (still going "what?" on this one)

Shounen Hollywood Holly Stage for 50 (for the sake of it)

Soukyuu no Fafner Dead Aggressor - Exodus (Been waiting for this one for a while. All those death flags already though .____.)

Tokyo Ghoul √A (Three episodes in and this already rivals the first season as a whole when thinking about atmosphere and "feel")

And series from the last few season like

Diamond no Ace (Eijun is a wee little thing .___.)

Garo: Honoo no Kokuin (The more I watch, the more the main kid's growing on me. You're not missing anything though)

Gundam: G no Reconguista (A total mess and I have no idea what they're trying to be but Bellri is adorable)

Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu (Apart from the fact main kid's gf drives me insane every single week, I'm loving this)

Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Heartbreak every single damn week)

World Trigger (Don't even start it. It's not worth it)

Apart from that I'm also watching

    Ergo Proxy

    Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge

    Prince of Tennis (Don't ask)

    Strike the Blood

  3. Tokyo Ghoul is amazing, unfortunately i don't have a computer rn, so i can't watch it, but the art is wonderful, also with the twisted storyline, some says that the manga is terrible, but... well it's just plain bs.

Also DRAMAtical MURDER... i can't say much, i love the storyline, but still can't really wrap my head around the artwork, and the clothing they wear in it..

The first time ever I've seen someone say the manga is "terrible." Well, I do know of the butthurt fans who can't stand there's been questions with no answer at the end, and the writer had the guts to

    kill the main character

The anime was something which could have been lots better if they had taken their time to do the episodes as nicely as they did the last one. Can't wait for the second season though. It's rumored to be an anime only season, and could easily take place in the 6 months time-skip they did in the manga. At least this time they got the actual writer on board to write the scenario so I'm curious.

(Also curious about one of my fave actors getting a drawing of himself in the TG universe from the mangaka. What project are you getting yourself into)

    ----

Watched Absolute Duo for the sake of watching something, and I was wondering whether it would be another ecchi series for Matsuoka as well. I love his voice but... stay away from the ecchi... please...

  4. Never would have guessed LC9 to end up in an anime thread.

I AM STILL WATCHING MAHOU SERIES AND IT FEELS LIKE ALL OF THEM ARE HAREMS/ECCHI

No, but really, can someone tell Matsuoka to voice characters that aren't leads in the same anime plot over and over again because I actually like listening to his voice.

  5. diamond is fucking amazing and I agree on your thoughts. I'm glad the mangaka went this route instead of them winning and going to nationals. it was just so much more interesting and really hit home emotionally. Never though I would be so interested in baseball but this show does a really great job of making it intense and facinating.

Daiya does a really good job there, I agree. Eijun's been growing on me as well. It's really nice. I love how he does his best and tries very hard yet keeps the team spirit going. Last episodes hurt though... Can't wait for the next few ones. New captain and all.

Miyuki will do a great job even though he thinks he's not good at it. I wonder how far they're going to go eventually though. The current manga chapters are pretty nice overall.

Though Miyuki getting hurt won't ever be nice

Finished far too many other series this past week. Vanadis and Kokkuri among others. They're the last few fun-but-nothing-special ones I was still continuing. Ah, can't wait for the next season though. TG S2, AZ S2, Fafner S2, DRRR S2, Death Parade... I'M READY.

  6. I stand corrected on the Fate/Stay Night: UBW adaptation. It got better and better as it went and the art was really nice to look at as well. Though I'm not totally into the story (I have never come near the VN) I have to say it was a fun watch and I'll surely be checking out the next cour of it.

Also finished Amagi Brilliant Park and it was cute. Nice art and animation as expected from KyoAni.

  7. Also it has been confirmed that they will be releasing this Final Fantasy with dual audio! It's about fucking time Square about fucking time XD

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

(that's all I wanted to add to that news)

Also waiting for Type-0 even though I have it on PSP. It's always easier to play on console for me for some reason. Force of habit I guess. Uncharted seems to be looking great so far as well. Ah...

  8. SAO2 was fun to me for the whole first arc. After that I got bored. I should finish it soon though.

Started Sailor Moon when it started airing for the sake of it and I kind of regret it because I get insanely annoyed by their voices. I'm not a person to watch anime with mostly girls for a lead apparently.

Hitsugi no Chaika's second season was about as good as the first. Really solid anime imo, and I should read more of the manga. I really like the lead guy. Kind of a no-nonsense character. It was a fun watch. Terra Formars is a mess in which every episode is just "let's fight some cockroaches" and even though it's just that, there's been moments I've been amused with it. I mean, "Let's play baseball." You're on Mars. Fighting Cockroaches. But okay. All is well. Also finished Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji. It was okay. I enjoyed it. Probably mostly because of Kyoya being the main kid and me having a thing for hopeless brats. Psycho-Pass 2 left me disappointed. Way too many parts in the story and characters they could have gone further on but never did. Don't tell me there's something more to a character's past and then don't even mention it for any of the remaining episodes. Donten ni Warau was a pretty good adaptation. Maybe a bit rushed in the last 2/3 episodes, but overall it did what it had to do. Denki-gai no Honya-san was the most random thing ever. It had me laugh in the end when the Kantoku character cosplayed as Kirito from SAO. Both characters share the same voice actor so basically the kid was cosplaying himself. As for Akame ga Kill

as if I wasn't pissed off with Lubbock's random death, they killed off Tatsumi like that as well? WOW. It felt so meaningless after all the things he's tried to do.

Don't ask me how I've kept up with Diamond no Ace all this time but here I am. And it hit my feels today :(

  9. their EP was just amazing and for a while i was pretty obsessed with them but right now i cant even listen to them anymore.

Same opinion here. I was addicted to that EP for a while and then it just got boring again :/

  10. Halfway through Ping Pong.

Quite good, but so far, not living up to the hype.

Kyousou giga seems my type, though. Chaos and confusion=win.

Speaking of chaos, Baccano's 20th volume was darn good. Sigh, no hope for anime continuation.

I was rather surprised with how much I was into into ping pong by the end of the show, hopefully it gets better for you like it did with me :D Also yes Kyousou Giga is awesome! I need to actually re-watch it sometime, It's definitely one of those shows I feel like need to be watched multiple times to totally understand everything.

Same here. Didn't notice until the last few episodes how much I'd actually fallen into the whole story. The live action movie is also pretty amusing tbh. Characters are just the same.

  11. ^ yep that is just you. without the tv series half the stuff in the movies wouldn't even make sense because they literally didn't explain much of anything at all in the movies. it's only when you use the tv series as a reference does the movies make a lot more sense, especially when you figure out when the movies take place in the time line... there's also some other small things that make more sense when you look back at the series for insight, but those are more for fan service than anything else xD

I didn't mean it in that sense. It's needed to watch the original to understand the movies. I just meant that I enjoy the characters way more than I ever liked any of those in the main series. But yeah, I seem to be one of the single people who doesn't think Lelouch is awesome etc etc. I've always wondered why, but I've never been able to find an explanation for it. Despite liking mecha series, and preferring characters like Lelouch, I really didn't enjoy it :/

  12. While I do like the release, I think that out of their three albums it's the weakest one. I love Black Rail, and the title track isn't bad either, but apart from that there's not really anything that sticks while I did have this with the previous releases.

What I do love is that it's obvious Hiroki keeps getting better and better, and I hope they'll continue to reinvent themselves with ever single release so that they'll fall into their best niche one day. Them sounding like OOR doesn't bother me too much, but I hope they at least stick to a more alternative version of them and don't become and exact copy. No matter how much I love both brothers and their bands, Hiroki isn't anywhere near Taka just yet.

  13. ATTACK ON TITAN IS TRASH! IT'S A GOD AWFUL ANIME WITH A CRAPPY PLOT

I will never understand the hype.

Someone make me stop trying "MAHOU SHOUJO THINGS" or "MAHOU GAKUEN" stuff. I can't deal and the more I watch the more I'm confused to why I even started

  14. THIS WEEK IN AKAME GA KILL!:

Absolute fucking non-sequitur! I swear to God that was the most jarring transition I've ever seen in anime. What happened to the fight? That was like one episode of Dragonball Z ending with Goku and Frieza about to fight, and the next episode starting with all the Namekians on Earth. How are they going to go back and explain what happened now without everything seeming so out of place?

Also we only have three episodes left apparently? They're catching up to the manga fast since they skipped ~20 chapters with one episode, but they also decided to do an original ending so I have no idea how it will play out now.

I was mad the whole "fight" went so quickly and they got rid of stuff as if it wasn't important.

also slightly annoyed Lubbock's part got cut short but oh well...
