Their new album was great. Probably one of the best underground prog metal releases for the year. The Contortionist - Causality IPFqGazoVR0

The band's released a new single for free. I'm surprised at Danny's new clean vocals and the change in his growls(perhaps the slipknot influence?). It does seem to be for the better. The lyrics have vastly matured too. Asking Alexandria - Run Free HdR1W3-y0-o

This was my first time listening to this band so I wasn’t sure what to expect. When I did give it a spin I was surprised at what I heard. Rock tinged with lots of synths, autotune and some metal. The music has a light feeling to it, probably because its upbeat and poppy for the most part. The synths and electronic parts are well done, but the music production is lacking. This is particularly noticeable when you compare it to other bands who mash together rock and metal with trance, techno, synths and all other matter of electronic components. Those things just kinda feel cheap on this release. Another problem I had while listening to this was the overuse of the damn autotune on the vocals. I don’t mind some autotune, or when bands use cool effects like glitched, delayed, and layered vocals, but I feel too much autotune just detracts from the music.(Same problem Attack Attack had.) Things I did like was the metal part of the songs, the growls, and the cool breakdowns and the transitions from the upbeat synthrock side to the metal side. I believe there was also use of a arpeggiated pianos which I thought was cool. So for the first time listening to this band, they’ve left me with a lukewarm impression. I like some of what they’ve got going on, and there’s a definite potential, just get rid of the overuse of autotune and tighten up the sound production. 7/10

A new live song from the epic band that is Deftones. It's got that metalgaze feel to it. Deftones- Rosemary uT4Th_ICWeE

I want to hear that now. Don't know if there any Vk bands that would be daring enough and have the production and musicianship skills to pull that off. And yeah, I also agree, Vk will never die. No type of music ever has.

Joan Jett and The Black Hearts. It was my first outdoor concert and it was by the beach. Joan and the band were amazing and played a couple of new songs too. Loved how crazy and loud the crowd got when they played songs like Bad Reputation, Cherri Bomb and I Love Rock N Roll. Plus they had a sword swallowing act as their opening. The best part was the concert was free.

You can ignore my suggestion if you want, since I'm going off topic. But I've been playing Violin for about 9 years now. I suggest looking into some classical music. There are really some awesome and beautiful pieces written for violin. One of my personal favorites is Pachelbel's Canon in D. It sounds amazing and it's actually easy to play. lcJuZIUeBME I really grew to appreciate classical music after taking up the violin. Before I just thought it was kinda boring. It might take some time and research on your part, but you should be able to find some really great violins pieces. Or I could always suggest more if your interested.

I loved Adore, especially all the acoustic work and the lyrical improvement on Corgans part. I also really liked The Machines Of God. I wouldn't have minded if Oceania was something like that, but's it not. It's along those lines, but not quite. I still liked it, but nowhere near how much I enjoyed previous pumpkin albums.

K-On. just watched the first episode. It seems like a pretty funny anime with music as its center theme. High School Of The Dead. - Also just saw the first episode. Your basic zombie outbreak in an anime world with tons of action, blood and gore. Looks promising. I just don't get all the panty shots.

An M-Audio Audiophile 2496 ( to improve my systems sound quality) A M-Audio Keystation 61 (for my home studio) Drumstcks. I don't even own drums but I find playing air drums is easier when composing beats for tracks rather than manuel inputting on some software.

Biopanda: Angels Breathe Normally I don’t listen to visual kie bands except for a handful of them. In that aspect it was interesting taking a listen to all of the artists of the mixtape since I absolutely knew none of them. There’s a lot of old school sounding tracks, (at least they sound old-school to me) and the songs do seem to naturally lead into one another. My favorites were Winter Love sing by Suzzy&Caroline and Morning Glory by Angelique. I enjoyed other songs like the one by 桜-SaKuRa--, but was at odds with myself with other tracks since I enjoyed the music but couldn’t stand the vocals. So yeah, I’m far from being a VK fan, but I did find a couple of good songs I like. Fitear: Weird, Wild & with a Side of Wacky… Wtf Japan I love the crazy acid trip cover. The whole mixtape thing was pretty awesome. Definitely lots of weird, wild and wacky things were happening in all of the songs. Crazy drum beats, grooves and Japanese people yelling at me through my computer speakers. I loved all the songs and I’m gonna keep them all, but the first three tracks were my favorite along with the last one. This was a really fun listen.
  18. Saw this coming. Good news indeed. Want to hear if they're heading into a different direction or further expanding on the one they have.

Anybody watching these? I don't watch sports ever, but every four years I enjoy watching the Olympics games. My favorite categories to watch have to be the diving, swimming and gymnastics. Both for men and women. The incredible and crazy things the athletes do are pretty amazing.

Zess: Interferencedemon First things first, this mix had an awesome flow. I thought each song nicely transitioned from one to the other. There were lot’s of noisy guitars and walls of sound. I was already familiar with the awesomeness that is melt banana, 101a and School food punishment. But the bands I really liked and want to hear more of are Sgt, obscure and the last artist on the album which I can’t copy and paste. The one that did wormhole. Hands down those bands had my favorite songs of the mix. Enjoyed the whole mixtape Champ:The Not-so-usual-metal-Mix The title of the mix definitely lives up to the songs. They’re not your usual metal songs. ( I think I did the complete opposite of this mix with my own metal compilation.) I like the variety of the songs and how a good song flow was still maintained. There’s some epic sounding songs too. Heard everything from pianos, saxophones, organs, wind instruments and funky guitars. There wasn’t any song I didn’t like, but my favorites ones have to be, Elephant, Shining Human Skin, The Curse of Gypsy and The Opposition. Want more of the bands who did those songs. Will review the remaining mixtapes later.

The hell? Didn't see this coming. I'm hoping they go out with a bang by having that last album be the best release they put out.

Songs from some metal bands I've currently been into. There's some technical stuff, some death, sludge, experimental and melodic stuff. There's no actual theme that ties the songs together, however most of them either are, or have a progressive metal feel to them. I wouldn't call it call it a typical selection, but if you like the heavy stuff , there's plenty of material to headbang to. Metalz 1.Pitch Black Universe 2.And Their Eulogies Sang Me To Sleep 3.The Ancient Covenant 4.Contact 5.Complex Terms 6.Recreate 7.Liquid 8.Veil Of Maya 9.Stargasm 10.Tired Climb Updated link with a new url since I realized the tracks were having an ordering problem. Leafwork - Ambient 1 I also don't listen to much ambient music but I have been listening to a lot of music that uses ambient passages and electronic music in general. I'm actually in the middle of creating my first EP and it borrows from techno, to ambient, trip-hop and orchestral stuff. So the album as a whole was interesting and inspiring to listen to. Creating long songs with textures, or minimal sounds is challenging in itself. I think this type of music isn't for everyone but it'll get you in a relaxed mood. The second half of the album was my favorite. I've got new electronic artists to look up now.
