  1. Black Panther

Before the mid credit scene, the movie was just plain good. After that mid credit scene, it scored a GREAT flick to me. It's a message desperately needed for everyone to hear. Also, we finally get a decent villain that's on par with (or even better to others) Spiderman Homecoming's. Acting is fantastic, world building and culture is depicted well. Ryan Coogler is quickly becoming one of my favorite directors of this time as he did a stellar job with CREED and Fruitvale Station.

From seeing a let's play of it, I don't like the menu system either. The 3D chibi models are cute, but when it comes to selecting teams or getting into battle with someone, it looks rather complicated and a bit cluttered up.

Might be a dumb question, but does it have the same control mechanics as say, the Budokai series? Or more complex arcade-style controls like with Super Dragon Ball Z where you'd have to put in long combos to perform a special attack? (I'm really sorry, I've been out of the vidya gamez loop for a long time)  I would really like to get this game at some point.

I've never played Budokai so I can't really comment on that. I would say it's most similar to Persona 4 Arena and Guilty Gear Xrd when it comes to the fighting mechanics.

  3. Star Wars: The Last Jedi

It was enjoyable. I liked it slightly better than VII. There are some serious pacing issues in some parts of the film that really made it drag. Aside from that, this movie pulls some unexpected directions that can be either a good or a bad thing. Really depends on how you perceive these changes.

  4. I saw the latest Fate installment which is Heaven's Feel - I. Presage Flower movie a few days ago at a select theater. Due to the slow pacing in the beginning, it felt like more than a 2hr movie. The intro scene from the beginning to the intro credits took nearly 30min with all the school life stuff, but the intro credit scenes rushed point B to D in a matter of a minute, so you don't get to see how the characters obtained their servants. Definitely not for those who aren't familiar with the franchise. Aside from that, fantastic visuals and impressive action scenes kept me hooked. Music is also great! I would say this is right on par with Fate Zero in terms of how dark and violent it is. Is this the best Fate Stay Night route by far? Too early to tell, but I'm already liking it better than the original.

  5. The Foreigner

A decent flick that's got Jackie Chan in it but it feels more like a Pierce Brosnan movie with the amount of screen time and lines he has. It's somewhat enjoyable although this is the first time seeing Jackie Chan in such a depressed role. He still has the martial arts action here, but in serious manner. One problem I had with this movie is the lack of direction it was going for. Is it a revenge flick or a political thriller? Not something I recommend paying full price to see in the big screen but worth the rental.

    Thor: Ragnarok

This is clearly the best Thor movie of the 3. It's very comedic, in fact, I would categorize this as simply comedy rather than action comedy. The timing on the humor is so spot on that I've at least smirked 90% of the time. It's satirical to that whole Shakespearian acting. Even the Hulk is so obviously CG here, this is the most amount of character I've seen of him in any other Marvel movies. Like most other Marvel movies, the villain is painfully boring and pretty much an afterthought just for the sake of having a villain. If you do go out to see this, make sure to flush everything out cuz this is a 2hr and 10min movie. It was painful holding the piss half way through the movie.

  6. 2 shows this season I wholeheartedly must recommend:

    Princess Principal

If you wanna see steam punk victorian age spy anime with moe character designs, this is it!  It's got nice choreographed action scenes that doesn't pull any punches, well written individual episodes, and fantastic score by Yuki Kajiura. Please give us season 2...

    Made in Abyss

What I expected was some kiddy fantasy adventure anime from looking at the promo pic but nope. It gets dark fast. The last several episodes have been really unsettling for me to watch due to its shocking and disturbing scenes. Although the overall plot isn't over, the show concludes well.

  7. Saw the new "It" movie last night. It was surprisingly good! Much better than the original movie. I'm not big into horror movies in general but this is an actual good quality flick that goes back to the basics of horror. Many horror movies these days rely too much on blood and gore that gives the feeling of disgust rather than the terror aspect. This however does the opposite. There were a few well crafted jump scares that actually shook me and the creep factors here, especially pennywise, were pretty effective. Oh, let's not forget about the writing. I love the dynamics of these kids in their developments. It gave us a reason to care for them, something that many horror flicks lack. Great acting too! One major criticism I had was the climax scene. I hated the way it was directed because the camera kept swaying back and forth. shaky cams, and the there were like 100 cuts in a min making me feel disorientated. This is one of my biggest pet peeves in an action scene. Yes I'm looking at you, Jason Borne movies.

    I recommend seeing "It."

  8. Dunkirk

Probably my least favorite Nolan movie but it's still good. Imagine the first 10 min of Dark Knight stretched out to an hour and 40 min in terms of the feel. That's  Dunkirk for you. The level of tension is intense and gripping. The music score plays a major role like it's its own character. I'm not sure if Hans Zimmer did one continuous track throughout the film but if he did, then wow. This movie leaves you no room to breathe until the last 5 min. Because Dunkirk is solely focused on the event, there's no time knowing the main characters. I don't remember if they even revealed their names. Otherwise, go see it.

  9. I've only know of Perfume and Rihanna on that list but don't listen to much of their songs.

    1. Michiru Oshima - Samon
    2. Aimer - After Rain
    3. Jamie's Elsewhere - The Mapmaker
    4. nekodex - Boundless
    5. HAL - KOKORO ?inwardly?
    6. Kagrra, - Yuki koi uta
    7. Kannivalism - Glory & you
    8. Skillet - Awake and Alive
    9. NOCTURNAL BLOODLUST - I-V-III
    10. Royz - Alkaloid

Well well, some nice choices here! I'm gonna give the honors to Nocturnal. :)

  10. Saw the Case for Christ movie last night. Before seeing it, I was very skeptical about how this was gonna turn out since most christian movies are awful, and I say this as a christian myself. Only a few that comes to my mind such as Ben-Hur, Passion of the Christ, and Hacksaw Ridge are great. To my surprise though, this was actually decent. Few scenes are well shot, the acting wasn't awful, and paced evenly throughout. I wish the investigation scenes spent more time on exploring the details but that would run the risk info dumping making the movie dry and boring. But yes, not bad overall.
