  1. They've already said that kind of stuff on tours before and that probably just means songs they've been playing on jp tour and will play here too. Dir en grey are probably really oblivious of how their western fanbase knows their japanese setlsts

  2. ^I know what 'Guernica' is exactly (I asked just to assure whether my romanization was correct), thanks.

When it comes to Kiyoharu, you might know just with those titles what you are going to get:

'I HATE YOUR POPSTAR LIFE'  would be a full-on punk roller-coaster, while 'Guernica' would be either 1) a sappy ballad or 2) something along the lines of "Mizary" (Naming "new Misery" that way, just to avoid Kiyoharu's fatal title mistake).

And I crossed my fingers for possible "Nakigara wo"-influences...but hey, it was clear from Kiyoharu's intentions that he doesn't want to acknowledge "his vk/post-punk self/past" (unlike Shin and Hitoki who are clearly inspired about putting up "an old-school one-night revival" a la Luna Sea-way)

Kiyoharu's Dead End cover was probably the closest to goth rock Kiyoharu we'll get for the rest of his life

  3. Probably will not live up to the hype surrounding it. Also, I wonder how much of that new trailer was actually gameplay and not just concealed quicktime events or otherwise scripted stuff

    Probably nothing

I'd like this series more if the story wasn't made of  bullshitty"2deep4u" stuff that barely makes any sense. Everyone's xehanort

  4.  If Ruten no tou (acoustic version) is anything like what they usually do, it will be a composition performed by someone else with Kyo's vocals from the original track layered over it. If that's the case I'm going to be incredibly disappointed.

they already did that on the dum spiro spero limited edition. with takumi's piano and his singing.

So I hope this one is a new version

  5. Penicillin was popular as a visual kei band, but not really as a normal japanese pop act. But when they released Romance, oh boy. That's one of those visual kei hits only the 90's could provide. These days only bands like Sid can get higher oricon positions and even for them it's not something that happens everyday.

    Other tracks like that:

    Sophia - Machi

I don't think they ever managed to reach what this track got again. Though it's highest position was 13th, it made the album little circus reach 6th and Both album and single stayed for more than 30 weeks on the charts. Wow.

    Luna Sea - Rosier

Their breakthrough. Though not their best selling single, it spent 25 weeks on the charts. Just like Machi and Romance, it's featured on dozens of collections of 90's japanese rock hits. A really memorable chorus and an overall great song, it brought Luna Sea to the mainstream spotlights, even if they were already pretty known on the rock side of the thing. After this, many other hits came: Desire, Storm, I for You, True Blue, but Rosier's probably the most famous and "the" Luna Sea song.

  6. When I first saw the mazy subtitle I thought they'd focus on their more progressive songs or something... but this set just confuses me more

    And. Filth. What. The. Fuck.

Heard they played a new intro this time. Can you confirm this?
