  1. Well, when I think of these bands inspired by old school vk they do get some things right, but they really forget about the production, mixing all this kind of "side" stuff. Grieva could really benefit from the shit tier cassette tape sound many old school bands had.

  2. In a sense I always considered Shazna an almost oshare band. Shit they were too happy, even if compared to other 90's pop rock vk bands. There were many of those bands and yeah, I guess they kinda became a sound left on the 90's... too bad because that's what I like the most about 90's visual kei.

I personally am very partial to Old VK, these pop rock bands being an important part on it. There's just nothing like their sound these days... stuff like that single D-shade album, early Siam Shade, Craze... they had a punkier edge but still had the melody sensibilities from visual kei.

  3. DS has this really awkward camera zooming thing going on, it's just really cheap and makes the music video look like some goth video from 2004, and not in a good sense. the animu is bad 2

Sustain the untruth at least has a better work in the photography and filming, though the way they they throw the DISASTUR pictures was really cheap...

Problem with Dir en grey pvs is that they are all directed by the same guy since Gauze. And this guy really isn't good about it. His page http://www.visualtrap.co.jp/vt/home001.html

  4.

Now it's DEG's turn to promote themselves - in terms of PV tho, I really hope that this is their only "cheap" effort for future/possible PV collection (AVERAGE LATIN, lmao)

ps. Red Soil pv is hands down their worst pv ever.

    yeah red soil sucks

but this one is already a big step up from hageshisa and different sense, those 2 were based on cheap ass camera angles and shitty green screen

  5. White-kei bands will always, ALWAYS be forgotten about. It totally messes up people's arguments about how 90s VK was all dark goff, when a majority of the bands that were actually popular were playing floofy pop-rock XD

yeah, if you asked about visual kei that's probably what most japanese people are going to remember: the 90's bands like glay, sophia, wyse, etc

  6. ... Someone in the YT comments pointed out that part of the song was cut out from the PV version. Is this going to be a new Dir trend as well?

yeah, they'd never put a full music video on TV. they need to reserve it to AVERAGE LATIN

By the way after the new album we'll probably get the long awaited PV dvd since the last one was MOAB+Uroboros and was launched after Uroboros, so maybe a new one would be DSS+New album

  7. I would think that way too if it only wasn't for TWO Uroboros-themed stadium gigs (2010 and 2012) and long-term riding on Uroboros fame (remastered Uroboros pretty much was the side-product of their 2nd stadium gig promotion).

Yeah, and their two Budokan concerts this year are called Dum Spiro Spero. What now? Most tours are riding on the "DSS ride" too if you consider all the Latin names and how they kept Kyokutou no Nari for the entirety of the tour.

We just don't know what they did guise. To keep arguing that Dir en grey wants X or wants Y is just pretty stupid. For all we know they could be trying to become a boyband but they could have done that before if they wanted too. Could've just stayed in the Yokan train.

  8. I don't see the "creepiness" fading entirely in this song. At least not from what I've heard in the studio preview. It's just that veery poppish (final) chorus that makes the difference, I guess. I like it so far, but I get the feeling it will get boring in no time. There has to be something else to this song.

that's similar to how I feel. I love the verse and the intro, but the chorus does nothing to me. I guess Imma wait and hope they do some nice changes on the other verses or maybe a nice bridge
