Love these guys. Saw them live early last year, put on a great show. Can't wait for the new album which sounds like it might be heavier than the first.

Great band. Blue Cassette is amazing.

    These guys are pretty good.
  4. Rei-zero- live on DVD format, probably the best news.
  5. Yeah the expanded bit is a bit of a joke.. Japanese versions of Dozing Green and Glass Skin is hardly a selling point when they were included in the original Japanese release. Really comes down to this "remastering" as to whether its even worth buying. Although Hydra -666- is one of their best remakes, hardly pointless to include it for fans who never heard their full Dozing Green single.
  6. 13th single sounds about right, possibly their major-label debut if they're making this huge fuss about it. Although they'd be due for an album announcement to continue their once-a-year album trend. And yes, they suck now. I used to be the biggest giru fan, now I feel dirty that I ever liked them. NOW was their last good release. Since then, downhill.

This single shows why they should never release a full album ever again. They can turn a 3-song single into magic, but extending this over 12 or so songs always ends in fail for them. Reverse is the standout - new DETOX. 7/10

Their style of visual changed dramatically when 'Six Ugly' came out - more modern, left the 80s/90s glam-visual looks behind. Vulgar/WTD-era was their best visual period with their strongest PVs to date. But they didn't stop it completly until Marrow of a Bone. It was toned down after time - their looks got more 'normal' with each picture and PV they released. Almost like they had planned to phase it out from Six Ugly. What's interesting to note is that Kyo always seemed more 'visual' than the others in the later part of this period - if you look at their Saku PV, this one of Kyo's most famous visual looks. Yet it wasn't for Kyo's presence and their use of make-up, the rest of the band barely looks visual. Same goes for Kodou PV as well. Take Kyo out of the equation and things suddenly seem more normal (although this is probably one of the best pictures of the band): Here's a good one - were they still visual in the Ryoujoku no ame video? Were the promo pics for MOAB and the GRIEF PV when it completly stopped?

First opinion of the album is that it's a bit of a mess. I'm not sure what direction they wanted to go in, every song seems different from the next, no real sense of cohesion at all. I thought there'd be more of an electronic influence over the whole record judging from the previews - but there really isn't, and the electro influences feel more like an afterthought and doesn't really add anything to their sound. The best result of "electro"-gazette is THE SUICIDE CIRCUS and also one of the standout tracks of the album. This release is more for picking out the strong tracks and forgetting the weak ones ever existed. Its not an album where you need to hear the whole thing in its context because context doesn't exist here. Its a singles album. My favourite track (along with THE SUICIDE CIRCUS) is "SHIVER", the best single since DIM and it ends up being the strongest track for me. Its Gazette in their element, creating melodic songs with poppy refrains and one of the few tracks I'll bother to listen to more than a few times. Might be a bit biased here since it reminds me of "REGRET", which is one of my favourite Gazette songs. Had high hopes for "MY DEVIL ON THE BED" from the previews because of the big manson-vibe, comes off a bit bland but not the most terrible song here. The ballad section didn't impress me either. "UNTITLED" has potential but it doesn't seem to go anywhere or reach any kind of epic moment that every good ballad has. Another band to get lost in mediocrity, and without the Gazette, the amount of VK bands still worth listening to dwindles even further. I'll take 3-4 tracks away from this and forget the rest of this album ever existed. 2/5

The 192 is a transcode, pretty sure the quality of the rip is either 128 or below 128. Gonna wait for the scene release which should be soon.

What You Want has grown on me, takes a few listens but its pretty good. Haven't heard the album yet. I don't think a HQ rip is out yet, so I'll wait for that.
  12. omg that dubstep-inspired intro is awesome. There's a lot of potential here, I'm actually really excited for this new electro-gazette now after falling off the Gazette-bandwagon. Outside of the singles there is a lot of quality music. MY DEVLI ON THE BED sounds very Manson. Loving the ballad section in the middle as well. Ruthless Deed has a major dir en grey vibe to it, OBSCURE-like guitars.

Album is better than I expected. About half the songs are really good, the rest don't do anything for me.
  14. new song, "naughty naughty" 2jO05vcWyN4 and live "mannequin factory" Winp17rHD9g I'm enjoying these songs for what they are - pop. Very, very good pop songs with incredible hooks. At least with Naughty Naughty some of her industrial influence is coming out. But its making me realise I miss her PATT sound though, guitars in these songs have become background instruments.

be naked! love it, they know how to get their fanbase interested. but yes, im really over their light releases. they've done it to death. now, back to JUDEA-like songs pls.

a lot of things were said about the last album though at an early stage and didn't deliver... description sounds great but I won't hold my breath yet.

You can tell they've never tried to use electronic sounds in their songs before, because its so badly executed. That toll/bell sound seems like an afterthought and it does not sound good. Although the 2nd electronic effect is executed better. And there's hardly enough in there to justify any "change" in sound. They still sound exactly the same. Their sound has progressed so little since the start of their career. So much potential wasted by rehashing the same formula over and over, year after year with a few exceptions. Sure its produced some fantastic songs for them, but as musicians they are showing absolutely no versatility.

I think his finest moment is the nasal-whiny-emo vocals in "I Miss You". How could you not enjoy that?!

lmao monster balls but yes i agree, that concert was boring. I expected more, she seems to try too hard and fall under her own weight a lot of the time. but watching a concert on TV is nothing like being there in person.

Doesn't sound like a full song at all, just a cut from one? Like the video. Don't know whether it has the shock value he's aiming for, but I liked it.

Randomly downloaded their new releases after remembering I liked the demo with the old singer. These guys are pretty good - they feel like girugamesh when they were in their prime. They don't add much to the stock-standard VK sound, but their sound seems more intracate, like they pay attention to the small details of their songs & instruments instead of just slapping a downtuned riff or nu-metal bass line over everything. Two favourite songs of theirs so far - "Pistol" and "Personality" Wasn't too impressed with the "CRAZY DISCO" single though. Anyone else liking them?

Up All Night on main album, Heart's All Gone deluxe only? >_
  23. I like Pins & Needles, but I prefer their synth-led sound to the guitar-led one. They had been hinting at this sound their whole career though - each album got progressively heavier - I think they had to get it out of their system. And they have. And now they've gone back to more synthy stuff as we've seen in the last EP. Hope the next album follows this trend. I can easily choose my favourite TBM song - Happy Birthday. The first song of theirs I heard. Its absolutely amazing in almost every way and I doubt they will ever top it.

Sounds like he's doing a Kanye West "Runaway" I'm intrigued.. can't wait to see this.
