That is definitely an unpopular opinion here, and he doesn't seem to agree with it. Anyway, back on topic, I actually really like Theatrical Blue-black, I was totally psyched for that song when the video was first posted, I even enjoyed the apathetic BI"name"JIKA to an extent, but was not fond of HATE.
I also LOVE RAVEN, I think Echo is a pretty nice song, and those previews posted were pretty cool. I'm not expecting this album to be groundbreaking, at the very least I am expecting this album to be decent, if not really cool! Though I'm not expecting ground to be broken, I am still very much looking forward to this album because I think MEJIBRAY is long overdue for a second album. They've released enough singles since 2012 for a double album (b-sides included), and as someone who is not really into singles, that annoyed me! Even just the singles since MESSIAH.bat alone could have been a full album.
And for the sake of comparing this album release to GANGSTA: As mentioned, MEJIBRAY has been due for a new full-length album for quite some time. Sadie, on the other hand, should take a break from releasing full-length albums.

I'm totally prepared to see this album bomb the way Sadie's "GANGSTA" did......whoops did I just say that out loud..

I'm not a musician, but the way I hear it, the guitar in Raven is meant to be choppy, uneven tapping along with the drums to support the idea of the song "rapid twitching and darting" the way a bird appears to do (As Tsuzuku physically emulates in the video) When you say that the vocals don't sound like they were trying, do you mean the verse or the chorus? I've never been really impressed with the chorus myself, but is it so bad for the vocals not to be copied and pasted where the lyrics are the same? Personally I would rather hear the same line sung differently from earlier in the song, but maybe I misunderstood you ?

IMO Mejibray has pretty irregular ups and downs, not really a straight decline. I think their all around strongest period has been A Priori-to-Raven, which makes it a crying shame how TBB turned out lol. Still, the album previews suggest it isn't lost on them..

I agree it is a show-offy PV for sure. I've noticed I always end up vividly remembering at least a few shots or members' motions from Mejibray's videos, it's fun to watch them play + Tzk's frontman acting. Even in casual videos like the one they did for Divergence is worth watching and gets you more pumped about the song. This is kind of the antithesis of that.. They all look bored and Tzk looks like he wishes he was singing a darker song lol..

I hate to say this but, Mejibrays best single was Karma Gareki No Mantichoras.

This is the worst release Sadie has ever put out.
It's inconsistent, repetitive, and unmemorable.
 
The first problem is that every track overstays its welcome. More than half the album is over 4 minutes, most going almost up to 5. While you might think that's actually a good thing, it isn't. There are plenty of tracks that would be fine if they ended about halfway through, especially the heavier ones, but they keep going and going repeating the same elements. It really drags the album down.
 
The inconsistency in this album is no secret. You've got tracks where M to the ao tries the rapping thing (2 only actually), a few that sound more like a poor rendition of a middle school jazz play soundtrack, one that tries to implement electronics and synth for that fun and poppy yet heavy sound, a heavy alternative song (that sounds somewhat like Yellow Card's "Lights and Sound"), an uplifting pop ballad, a "Spirited Away" instrumental piano track, and a majority of songs that feature Sadie's typical chug a chug who gives a shrug style.
 
I'm not even disappointed that the album doesn't incorporate any "gangsta" elements. I just at least expect a uniform sound throughout the album. The album is all over the place and has absolutely no idea what its identity is. I found "Madrigal de Maria" to be a poor album, but it still had a uniform sound between all the songs and you can tell they're all from the same album. 
 
But not using the gangster elements is another thing. If you're going to call your album "Gangsta" and even have a few tracks where you try to implement things like rap, why are there only 2 tracks that you do this on? What is the point to all this? You take these 2 songs out and you're left with nothing that relates to the title. Either go full out or don't do it at all. Make a choice and stick with it.

I found barely anything worth listening to on this natural born trash CD that is only good as orange rotted.
 
-Shoot the targets, hidden in your mind - there's a lovely melancholy guitar break 2:40-2:50. The actual break is longer than that but when Mao comes in his vocals ruin it.
-Gesshoku - It sounds like Mao says "I scream for you p***y". It's kinda (kinda) funny.
-I find Tokyo Gypsy to be the only song I can listen to (the last guitar melody actually kind of sounds like something off the GazettE's Disorder. Tokyo Shinjuu, Tokyo Gypsy. Coincidence?...maybe?)
 
All in all there's about 5:04 worth of stuff I would listen to on this album.
Sadie needs to stop releasing material for a while and really think about what to do with their music. I think this album proves that they have no idea.
 
Gangsta is a prolonged cluttered wreck that needs to be banned and cut off from all access to consumers.

I picked up their "Ice Romancer" single off the shelf today, gave that a few whirls and man.....I gotta say, I really miss their old sound. It wasn't super original but it was so Sadie.
'Recall' is such a good song too.

This is really NOT what I expected. (most of the previews being quite sweet and romantic sounding)
 
One in particular, "Hungry Psychopath" which I suppose I had pegged as something quite simple and heavy turns out to sample a really pleasant and emotional sounding chorus. It sounds excellent to me.
 
In fact, after previewing 50% of the album here.. I start to wonder if Mejibray's heavy side will be fairly supported. SERVANT is the most glaring example of how it would be done, to me it sounds Diru-inspired with the way the riffs go with the Tzk's reaching for higher notes, while the actual melody he sings is still very Mejibray.
 
This may be deceiving, as a lot of these songs may have much heavier sections that one wouldn't guess from hearing this (as is common with them)
 
I am excited for this. Given Mejibray's inconsistent history and the sudden announcement of The 420 itself, this album in theory is easy to make jokes about, but I think there's going to be a lot to love if you have ever been a fan of them, which I have and still am lol

Just an update for anyone that cares:
I will be making the tutorial after finals are done, so I'm expecting it to be up during the weekend before Christmas.
