I could never understand this even though I've been into Kpop for quite some time now. And anyways I've never heard of any group encouraging this behavior at all so I don't know where it comes from.

Lmao. Kpop twitter never changes. It's a shitfest of immature annoying ass teenagers and is home to some of the most toxic ass people you ever meet.

Which is why I stay on the DL when it comes to being a bts fan lmao I don't want to be affiliated with that. I'm already affiliated with one crazy fandom, thank you very much. lol

I agree. I think they've done a really good job of depicting mental illness, so much so that it hit much too close to home for me as well and I had to leave the cinema about halfway through the movie. I've been (consciously) struggling with depression for half my life and I'm currently in a phase (in therapy) where things are looking up, I feel more connected, more awake and present and therefor much more vulnerable and sensitive towards depictions of mental illness, addiction and so forth.
 
I wouldn't necessarily say it's a question of age though but rather how sensitive you are and whether you've struggled with similar issues in your past or not.

If I had to guess by the album art and the song titles, maybe about a dystopian society? Idk, I can't find anything online lol. If I'm not mistaken, I heard that Les Soiree was sorta like a concept album about a bride shunned by her family or something like that.

21st century is more easily accessible. les soiree is the more technically proficient album. too different to compare imo. really shows you how quickly vk changed in two years considering one came out in 1999 and the other in 2001. i prefer 21st century myself.

Divine the future from the stars, Native Devil. Kourin and Cyber Patrol are some of my favs from 21st Century. Black Jack Age is cool as well

Going back and listening to a few songs just now and I think I changed my opinion to 21st Century also because of songs like Suicide・洗礼の章 and 僕『しもべ』. also it's just better produced overall. I do like Cyber Patrol Wo Uchiotose a lot though.

Honestly, you can find quite a lot of good VK clothing from stores with independent retailers like Storenvy. As for sites that exclusively do VK clothing, try Rebels Market. I would recommend more but it's difficult to find sites that ship overseas, not to mention many of them aren't that varied. Light In The Box has some fantastic shoes/boots, btw.
