Just thought I'd post a quick hello here and see what's going on. I actually have been popping in here for a while to see peoples views on various bands and such, but thought it was time to join up and get involved in the discussions! Glad to see a place with a good handful of dedicated non-Japanese vkei fans anyhow.
 
Little bit of background then, do play in my own band as a guitarist and main composer so feel free to ask about that if interested. Is more on the "extreme" side of metal so if you're not interested that's cool! haha. Live in the UK, been to Japan a few times, been to a few vkei shows on my travels and of course do support the vkei bands I most enjoy as much as possible living overseas. I'm not new to vkei but am also not a long time veteran of the genre, got into it properly 4/5 years back, actually through a Japanese friend who I was doing language exchange sessions with who recommended me a handful of bands and immediately got taken in by it and have been dedicated ever since! To name a few of my top vkei/japanese rock/metal bands: Dir en Grey, The Gazette, DIMLIM, Kizu, RAZOR, JILUKA, DADAROMA, mamireta and many more... I do also have a reasonable comprehension of the Japanese language but am far from fluent so am sure some of you guys here are much better with it than I am. haha.

it was announced at their final oneman tour at 2019/04/21 at Takadanobaba AREA that support Gt. 椿(Tsubaki) has officially joined the band and that Rides In ReVellion new album "Re:Vellion" will be released at 2019/07/24 (3 types)

Untucked was a shit-show this week. Kinda living for it, but at the same time damn, take a chill pill everyone.
 
The episode itself was okay, Alyssa' presence made everything 100 times better. Also, I really felt for Plastique and Ru's reaction to her opening up, what can I say, I'm weak to emotional mumbo-jumbo...
 
(also, Brooke in Untucked was a mood lol)

I wish I had a bigger freezer. I wanted to buy some ice cream today but there's literally no space in my freezer... There's currently four half-empty bags of different kinda vegetables, a huge bag of fries, three pizzas, two boxes of chicken and rice I made some weeks ago, three bags of rye bread and a bunch of ice packs. Why do I have so much stuff there.

Upside is that japanese and Italian work similar in pronunciations so if the band has a japanese name it usually doesn't end too much f*cken up.

I have never cared for SuG. I listened to them many moons ago and just did not like them. I tried to, and I thought some of their songs were okay, but the rest just did not do it for me at all.

Thanks for posting - first I've heard of these guys. This PV is giving me bigtime old indies VK vibes with the production, haha. (not a bad thing)
 
I will say, I'm a bit dismayed every time I hear something from a new band and they go straight into the metalcore chugs. Some bands really do it right, but it's gotten a bit stale in my opinion.  Being that they're a brand new band, though, I'll be intrigued to see where they go.

@Nighttime Jae That's actually, oddly enough, one of the things that intrigued me about them. Their products are almost entirely chemical-based and my understanding is that their whole logic is that "sure, there are plenty of things in nature that people put in skincare, but we've tested these specific things scientifically to see how they affect the skin and these are our findings." They're pretty much all in on the fact that their entire line is rooted in chemicals and "non-natural" things (even the packaging kind of reflects this). I was hesitant for the same reason, but I've had better results with their stuff than I have many other things I've tried to add to my routine in the past.

This was a wild ride. Especially the ending featuring Maria of all people😆

Last night, I dreamt that MiA got his own solo career and started releasing some singles. There was a guy on MH who would prowl the news forum for his new releases, and whenever he found one, he would post a very cartoony drawing (presumably done in MS Paint) of MiA being strangled by an anthropomorphic blackbird in the comments. When he released a full album, the guy actually wrote a song of his own to go with an animation video he made. I don't remember exactly what was in said video, but I do remember me nearly getting hit by a biplane being piloted by my IRL friend who's obsessed with the 1920s (because for whatever reason, this guy knew who we were and included us in the video), MiA making out with Tsuzuku and finally, MiA hugging Maria Cross after Tsuzuku broke his heart.
