A lot of bandmen are much fatter than they'll let on, because of tight outfits, filters, photoshop, etc. But many of them are skinny because they spend what little money their indie label pays them (if they're even popular enough to get signed) more on vices than food. And then you have bandmen who are told to stay within a certain weight range. I remember hearing about how musicians signed to BP records aren't allowed to gain too much weight (similar to how J-Idols are restricted).
But yeah there are chubby bandmen, and you'll occasionally find some obese ones (one example that comes to my mind is that dude in GOKIBURI who never wore makeup and just wore sunglasses).

I can only say that cigarrettes and beer are more expensive than riceballs in Japan so if they can't "afford" to eat why they smokin'/drinkin' so much?

no need to be sorry @Gesu! there's certainly a conversation to be had about this, I just wasn't gearing up to have one lol I was just looking at some rando bands' member skinny arms and a thought struck me. 
 
ooook, so we're talking about this after all @Tokage. I can't really speak for vk cause I'm not really up to date on the industry inner workings, but if I were to assume that indie vk is like kpop trainees? totally believable that they literally sustain on ramen and cigarettes.

might legit be the case btw, i at least remember seeing stories floating around on tumblr about how some  japanese actor from either one of the million kamen rider series, super sentai or one of those other 'dudes in rubber suits beating the shit out of each other' programs p much had to subside on water in order to make himself feel full cuz he couldnt afford regular meals, if that's already the case with tv show actors then it's deffo not out of the question for musicians either

I do agree with everything you've just said. It's the same in kpop, people get canceled for gaining a pound. In vk you just get the additional bonus of the not-exactly-healthy rocker lifestyle~

@Gesu if you want an extra monitor for drawing/reference photos, i'd recommend just buying a tablet monitor~ ofc they're probably more expensive but it seems more practical to me as an artist. 
 
i don't have much use for multiple monitors unless i'm drawing or doing 3d modeling stuff. although it's nice sometimes for browsing while watching something on the other screen.

Christ, all this sounds a bit excessive for my tiny mind. Like... I can get why you'd use one or two or six, but I'd rather hold on to my money and spend a few extra seconds opening/closing tabs.

I was going to ask why the need for so many monitors and now I also have to ask why the need for a 60'' TV screen...

@YuyoDrift lol I got the biggest desk IKEA had, it has 200cm and honestly I could use at least 50cm more because my monitors take 150cm of it :'D

The gaps don't bother be that much since the monitors I have are almost borderless and I like the divide between the different things I'm working on at the same time?

Well the company likely pays the bill for extra monitors, so why not right?
Working in customer service/help desk REQUIRES more than 1 monitor, because sometimes your time IS money, and shaving 2-3 seconds off each of the 30+ requests to finish your quota for the day/week is worth it.

n00b question, but why exactly do people use multiple monitors?

I thought about doing a dual monitor setup for just my Apple laptop, with a nice docking station w/ all the peripherals I'd need, but it was more convenient to just build a small desktop with all the storage I needed. The price of all that other stuff broke my $1K budget so I said nah lol.

how old are your monitors man? no VESA compatibility? my previous setup I had a 13-year-old samsung and it was compatible.... 
 
HA! don't call me out like that =.=/ I have that IKEA desk, that's pretty much made of paper, with the three-monitor-stand in the middle. it's been doing ok for the past year or so.... I do plan to get sth more sturdy but I'm waiting for this one to fall apart or sth. 
 
@Gesu get a used monitor and connect it with HDMI if your laptop has it? That's how I used to roll back when I only had a laptop ^^ Having a second monitor will change your life~

@Euronymous Kyuho of Madman's Esprit himself explained why there isn't much of a Vkei scene in Korea. In general, it's really hard to get your music out there in Korea, because you have to get your music approved by the government and shit.
