PS3 (not really using) Xbox (rarely) PSone (more often, due to nostalgia) I suppose I am one of those early PS kids

Not loving the fact that people get totally offended by someone's straightforward discomfort towards certain futile arguments against this release - sure, feel free to criticize this album as much as you want. But if "sounding like Dir en grey" and "having "bad" titles" are integral parts of your criteria (or if you side with people who prefer such criteria)...I might put it mildly as well: get out. I don't have much to say about the album itself (Aoi Mochi summed up most of my thoughts sweetly), but gotta give my 3 cents: "Vicious of Absolution" and "Story of a Different Dimension" have their ultra-nostalgic charm in my book - the former being some sort of "back-to-mid-00s-j-rock"-flavored semi-ballad and the latter for being a proper, superior package of everything they did back in PLAY DOLLs "The Red" clearly shows that they acknowledged most of their faults in self-titled - the hell, the improvement itself is unexpectedly huge! I didn't personally feel like "Aqua" was "too long" - the pacing was neat, not to mention the finish The only mattering downside for me at this point would be "Alone". It's all fine, except that I don't feel "Mar Maroon"-y ballads that much (Wataru sounds quite monotonous too). All in all, neat album! 8,5/10

^ well not necessarily "old" (since its release date was like 01/10), but yeah - I hope the album makes up for possible "singleshooting" problems.

That video spot is so beautiful~ It has been up in MH for awhile now (digital single, that is), if you are interested.

Certain users (whose names I won't need to mention) went out of their way to give ratings that correspond respective reviews ("0/10", really? Tell me more!). That being said, some points: Dead End, Gesshoku and Bleach are those good ol' Sadie bangers* in every post-Undead-Sadie record ever. People who feel really bad about mentioned numbers should get their game together once more, since they don't differ much from e.g. singles in COLD BLOOD (that some of "certain users" seemed to enjoy, FYI). I cannot do much to advise omnipresent DEG fanboys to refrain from praising their idols in respective "worshiping acts'" threads though. *shrug* Tokyo Gypsy - upbeat out-of-place-ness here! Did they strike a deal with boys from Naitomea? J/k, j/k. The content does overshoot in its silly factor as some pointed it out, albeit sporting several elements worth admiring ("Scooby Doo-an" guitar licks, bassline). We might discuss the same about numbers like Howling or Shoot the Targets...: just how many songs are in these mashups? Not to mention those freaky ol' Yamaha synths in the BG. Props to the bassist and those who mastered the release for emphasizing bass licks in fitting parts. Let's not forget Mao for being as good as he usually was in clean vocals-section either - especially during semi-oomph-lacking end-of-the-record ballads. My thoughts in overall: First of all: pardon for my off-topic-ish, brief intervention. Yes, COLD BLOOD was their last release with majority of decent tunes. But seeing as "critics" are quite eager to give harsher ratings w/o constructive reviewing, newcomers' expectations always get overshadowed by overdramatized views of sophomores/some veterans (as I already questioned in my first sentence). Aren't we, as "listeners with experience", supposed to be the circle of adequate, open-minded critics rather than the gang of circlejerking, badmouthing elitists? Don't lower the bar below sites like Sputnikmusic and such ffs! Sadie are clearly trying to find their comfort zone once again after giving up on resorting to heavy influences. Major inconsistency of GANGSTA is clearly an outcome of such experimenting, which is why I am being quite sympathetic towards Mao and co. here. Perhaps the erratic hit-or-miss factors are a part of their charm? The Black Diamonds and Madrigal de Maria (previous releases) might prove it out. Pros: - Decent bangers* - Certain instrumental highlights (e.g. bass) - Mao is quite okay this time Cons: - Inconsistency - "A few" mashups - The second half needs more oomph 6/10 - don't expect "big bangs" from this band.

LOL that album cover I hope the content itself won't be as awkward :/

The full song is literally an amalgamation of "Worthless War", "Social riot machines" and (probably riff-wise?) "Beautiful 5[shit]ers".

Late '90s to early '00s, since I still see that as the "zenith of all vk eras" - various, perhaps even the most brilliant acts have appeared/shined during that phase (e.g. Pierrot with "Finale", DEG with their "quadrinity" , Malice Mizer with "Merveilles/Bara no Seidou" etc.). Also the fact that I discovered the said scene during that era says a lot about my choice
-
this I'd rather take mediocre Pierrot than (often) mediocre Angelo

"Girl in the Ice", huh? Expecting some "D's Snow White 2" action...

Anybody going to one of Nu'est's Europe concerts? (I *might* go to their Helsinki gig, in case I am totally okay with my schedule, budget etc.)

Gackt still keeping his "hasbeen"-title, eh?

SADS had quite radical-ish changes in their sound if you ask me - since they've technically continued from where Kuroyume left off before their hiatus (Ramones/Dead Kennedys worship) and had various points of evolution + complete lineup change - Jig summed it up quite sweetly

Rinkaku pretty much triumphs over their 2011-present singles, so they better keep changes in the album version to minimum (I don't mind if Toshiya's clackity-clack sound starts to jump out audibly though) Am I the only one who hopes for more (semi-) acoustic songs? I think they've pulled that out quite well in e.g. Ruten no Tou and Different Sense's acoustic versions, so I might look forward to such experiments in originals as well

BAND BATTLE SADS 黒夢 (Kuroyume) Phew, that was one hell of a post! Which Kiyoharu project you prefer and why? When it comes to me, I have a bit of hard time to decide which one I prefer or so, so I gotta play dirty: Nostalgia/early repertoire-wise: Kuroyume Current music-wise: Sads
