Okay, to revamp this thread - we need something *disappointing* and perhaps something a bit *better: Oh look, David Gu...I mean Nakata is being hip and square once again...ew. New Ayu is kind of okay - at least it's not as snoozy as GIFT, heh. :V

^Oooh, that's quite a lot of chicks for a modern DEG PV (NO MORE GREENSCREENS, FINALLY) + They almost pulled off "OBSCURE" in this one :V
  4. ^ in order to take over Daoko's fanbase, she needs some major appeal by having e.g. feats, cameos and whatnot (seeing as Daoko's collabs with i.a. m-flo and TeddyLoid in the past gave her some j-hip-hop (and later J-pop) exposure) :V (fun fact: J-netizens (especially from 2ch boards) are already bashing on Izumi for being a 'Daoko knockoff'* (rabid stans or not? You be the judge), rofl - I am not sharing their stance FYI) Might look forward to this. *I think this was due to "husky, half-whispering kawaii rap" becoming Daoko's "exclusive trademark" in terms of major J-music understanding - just me tho!

This is not necessarily a news to anyone who has been to MH for over 3-4 years but (almost) all of my internet nicks are derived/formed from anything associated with "PRZ"-letter combination (e.g. PReZy, (Pe)ReZ, PRetZels...etc.) - the main reason behind that is a secret ofc, ssshhh :V

Inb4 animu fans are gonna flame on Crayon Pop for resorting to Mahou Shoujo idol ""rip-off"" imagery once again...
  7. Forum's J-pop sweetheart duo "Charisma.com" is hitting us with a new single on 15/4/2015 - Kongara Girl! Cover art: (Itsuka looks like Meg from Family Guy, roflmao) Apparently the single is tied in with "Japanese Tangle teezer (yup, tangle teezers...) campaign", as it shows out @cover art... The single will be strictly tie-up delivery/live-limited (Teezer delivery price w/ the song: 250 yen /live-limited single price: 1000 yen) Tracklist for above-mentioned live-limited version: M.1 こんがらガール (Kongara Girl) M.2 こんがらガール – LUU×OORこんがりMIX – (Kongara Girl -LUUxOOR Kongari MIX) Source + shopping/delivery details are in/from their OHP.

Thankies! also: OMG OMG OMG [2] This is far better than the album version, damn! Edit: LOL @ backing vocals (seriously, these 2 first DVDs are quite awesome so far...)
  11. Yokan Yurameki A few things to note: 1) Kaoru effed up his parts imho 2) Shinya's drums sound tack-tack-tack-tack-tacky 3) I cannot hear Toshers at all Why is Toshers' bass so low-volumed @Yurameki? 4) They look VERY BORED

Not assuming that it'd interest everyone but here's translation of Aoi's 13th Anniversary pamphlet interview out of pure interest: ( credits; http://versoacabado.tumblr.com/ ) (from Gazettenoura's twitter) Tells a bit about Gazette's usual songwriting processes and a bit about Aoi's desires/hopes as well Also, Ruki tweeted about getting a "dangerous/risky song" done...I wonder what's that about. +
  13. Instead of letting myself explain things intricately: http://noisey.vice.com/en_uk/blog/the-j-pop-world-why-one-anti-idol-group-is-covering-themselves-in-fake-semen-akB48-dis-2014 (I don't trust VICE but they sometimes know how to report on certain underground phenomena) Read: R-shitei basically does the same every now and then in terms of visual kei - and you can come up with other, better examples as well :V Also, the "real" version of their debut song, "Spark" Kinda tame :/ @BaLiL: Pour Lui doesn't really want to discuss anything BiS-related (as far as I have heard/read from twitter feeds)
  14. Nononono was an (anti-)idol group which disbanded in 2014-ish (I think?) - and their manager is basically coaching a replacement in this case.
  15. Might as well copy what jps says about them: + there's a demo for their new song called "Spark" out @interwebs, except that it's sung by their manager... Look + logo: It's kinda rare to see idol-based news here but I found this too intriguing to be not posted around here :V Dat name doe. No other details announced source: Natalie
  16. Polysics will release a new mini-album titled "Hen Ai Let's Go" @25/3/2015 and will include the following tracks: 1. Dr Pepper!!!!! 2. HOMO SAUSAGER 3. GT(Great Tan-men) 4. DTMK未来 5. I’M HARD BOILED 6. ラスポテトメモリーズ 7. Ski Ski Die Ski(n) Cover: Look: Info: Hayashi (Vo. Gt. Syn.) noted that the song "HOMO SAUSAGER" was made to honor the "unintentionally kinky engrish on various products" -phenomenon, e.g. the "widely known" Homo Sausage Source: Natalie.mu There you go, MH song title of the year, right there!

^ I don't think "idols" should be separated from the general J-pop movement? Other than that, those junior high school girls manage to impress - those basslines, mmmmmmmm. @hiroki: thankies for recs! I will keep an eye (or an ear, lol) on those ones

BOMI is quite cool even though that her latest left a lot to be desired in terms of heavily SE-ridden content...I mean sure, it might be a bit of plus for those who happen to embrace nihongo to some extent, but for people who lack such capability (e.g. me), spoken word SEs after each track might be totes unavailing :/ @herpes: I am not so sure about Sugar's Campaign deserving the main spotlight in J-pop territory (too early for "le grande J-pop AOTYs" I suppose?) but I might give their new album another try...a real shame since anything Avec avec/Seiho never really clicked in the past... @hiroki: KOKIA (!!!), Onitsuka and Hikki are truly awesome, yes! Even though I never really managed to give the second one a careful listen - mind recommending a few good full-lengths for starters? Speaking of idol music, I am used to side-eyeing some "outstanding" idol acts every now and then (Dempagumi inc. being my current "point of attention") and I am not so big on them either (*cough*), but yeah - it'll be good (for the sake of ~variety~, don't judge me!) to see some exposure on that here once in a while...Stylelover, are you here? (pardon) edit: @stylelover: Sorry but !!!1!1! (+1 for Polysics guy writing this)

@Shaneth: does that make Namie Amuro the Asian version of Mariah Carey then? Rather surprised to see someone who managed to embrace m-flo's new, "clubbier" direction... @zombie: I can't decide how I should feel about Perfume having trap sections in their newer repertoire now - Nakata trying to be too hip and square after WR? Idk... In terms of Wub-bleep-bloop-kata: He found himself another model for another Coltemonikha-y/MEG-y moniker: Natsume Mito Yay/nay for Kyary leftovers?

  21. THE JAPANESE POP A.K.A. J-POP THREAD (bless this post, Cat/Zess/Nos/etc.-sama, onegaishimasu~) Are you a hardcore SMAPer? Or perhaps a bit of JUMPer? Arashist? Cieler...? Okay, fan nicks aside - and as you might already guess from these "absurd" names, this is basically J-POP we are speaking of! This thread is basically about anything you could easily drop under this subject - i.e non-vk bands/acts/artists that get usual, mainstream exposure inside and outside of Japan and so on... To blatantly "quote" Cat's words in his J-INDIE THREAD (which I highly rec), besides myself, Zombie, most of the mod staff, admins...who else here is more of a "vk-free Japanese pop" person? You can start by discussing anything about your favorite J-pop acts, be it even some cutesy-patootiesy acts such KPP, Yanakiku, AKB48, Babymetal (I think they are j-pop...ish?) - or you might as well go passionate and talk about even more "serious" music in the vein of Hilchryme, Charisma.com, m-flo and etc. etc. etc. Talk about your 2015 expectations for J-pop, fav classics, stuff you really hate...nah, just anything JAYPAWP goes in here, lol. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As for me... - New Kyary single was quite okay - not so sure about classifying any replay value for A-side + B-side 1 (KISEKAE) but B-side (My Room) oozes some sugarsweet nostalgia - sometimes it's good to see Nakata without his Guetta anthems - YANAKIKU unfortunately deserves their place as another "promo once, then pass away"-kind of a group like FEMM did a few months/half a year ago...cool ideas, not-so-cool performance. ... Guess that's all from my part for now, what about you guys?

Heresy DVD medley: The guy who posted this (and videos above) has a FB page where he is somewhat "ready" to fulfill singular song requests - and who knows if he is the first one to post the torrent with *FULL* DVD Also, speaking of Disorder/NIL-day: OMG OMG OMG.
  23. Pretsy

I decided to check out a few samples from their Heresy DVD off YT, and is it only me or did they finally learn to handle "heavier" songs without turning them into some unnecessary mess? E.g. MOB 136 BARS sounds really good compared to what happened during the RCE version, and even PUREI AAFFF SAIKOPASSS (guess the song) sounds decent :/ One of these samples btw:
