  1. Wouldn’t have put beautiful dirt and the IIID Empire on there (never really held much love for either of these songs.)

I kept thinking about how dir en grey have changed because someone mentioned here that the songs on Arche and dum spiro Spero all sound the same, and I sort of get where this is coming from. I like both albums, but I realised that I listen to them differently...I think dir en grey albums until then demanded a lot of attention from the listener and while listening, it was sometimes impossible to concentrate on anything else. But with Arche and dum Spiro Spero I feel like all of these songs emerge together into one. I like to listen to them on the train because I enjoy their whole atmosphere, but they don’t demand my whole attention. If that makes sense to any of you.

  2. So far, nu chemical rhetoric is my favourite album. I know this might be an unpopular opinion, but I thought that while modern Garde is a great album, Gara’s voice had not yet been that refined. M.E.R.R.Y is an okay album, under-world is pretty good (human farm is an awesome song), Nonsense Market has a couple of great songs, but it seems a bit bland next to other merry albums. Still have to listen to peep show :)

  3. I’ve been listening to Mother a lot lately. Granted, for ir my taste they could be a tad bit heavier (which is why in future and Rosier are one of my favourites), but I like the album a lot.

  4. Hey,

that's so kind of you! I'm also still looking for the bonds kizuna single and komou cosmos by ancafe. I'm willing to pay around 2,000 yen for the dvd, so if you happen to find it anywhere, that'd be super awesome. I know that they have the ancafe singles at Pure Sound in Shinjuku for a few hundred yen.

I could also send you a small package in return as thank you, maybe with sweets? So if you can find it, please contact me ;)

  5. I'm 24, and yes, we are xD sad, I know. I'd say most are 14-19. Last time they were in Europe I was 21, and when Miku told everyone to jump all the teenagers in the first rows could do it for a very long time while me and my friend were panting after only 5 minutes and agreeing that we were too old for this shit ;) sad, indeed...

Aw....thank you! But who knows, maybe they'll come back.

Mhhhh....maybe. it was the gig in Berlin, 2014. But I don't think there's a lot of footage.

  6. I think we're about the same age, so I'd feel less stupid doing it ;)

But honestly, if they ever come here again, the inviation stands (though, I cannot promise that they'll play anywhere near where I'm from, but we could still go together and be ancafe grandmas!)

On their last tour, Yuuki tried to teach us a para para, but the audience failed so spectacularly that he gave up after some time ;D so maybe next time we'll do better!

  7. I'd say 50 % of them :)

I really hope they'll come again to Europe soon, but I don't have much hope....their new album has been in stores since Febuary, so I think they would've announced one already :(

If there's one in Germany again, you just have to come over to my place and we'll see them together ;)

btw: I can still do the dance to natsu koi natsu game. This has been sooo long ago. I only felt a bit stupid doing it while doing housework the other day haha. I'm a grandma caffekko already.

  8. For whatever reason I cannot stop watching oogui (big eater). I've always despised eating contests, but about two years ago I've discovered thsi japanese show around the contests that they hold there, and I'm fascinated by it. The food looks so delicious and after a while you want your favourite contestant to win even though you know that no matter how often they say it's delicious, they don#t taste the food. No matter how often they act as if it's nothing, they don't enjoy it, and they will throw up later.

These shows promote food waste and help oogui eaters rise to popularity on youtube, thereby celebrating an unhealthy way of eating. But still I canot stop watching.

I only like their music until 2005.

When they went major there was a change in their music, more mainstream and it lost appeal to me.

I don't understand why they must change their music style when they go major if their music is already working.

While I also like their new stuff, you are certainly right! They used to be heavier, and for me, there was more...emotion that came across in their music.

Still, I thought that Harajuku Dance Rock , Hikagyaku Ziprock and BB Parallel were great albums overall. My absolute favourite songs were their B-sides during (and before) their shikisai moment days.

  10. Okay, so I actually wrote down an entire playlist because.....I had a lot of time on my plate haha ;) These are songs that are all amazing live, and create a nice atmosphere, in my opinion. I also put in some of my favourite songs that I never had the pleasure to see live, but still would love to.

    1) Lock on the o new sekai

    2) Super Rabbit

    3) Go! Go! Go!

    4) Tekesuta Kousen

    5) Ese uranai

    6) Koukai

    7) Aurora

8 )My heart leaps for C

    9) Kawayus Rock

    10) Nyappy in the world 5

    11) Maple Gunman

    12) Smile ichiban ii onna

    13) Cherry saku yuuki

    14) Natsu koi natsu game

    15) Odoru moruhen tokei

    16) Rinne no tsumi

    17) BondS Kizuna

I didn't know where to put in Rinne no tsumi, tbh, but I really wanted it to be on that list.

  11. I also bought modern garde, you guys. Merry is slowly taking over my ipod, and I don't regret it one bit.

I started listening to nu chemical rhetoric  first and liked it a lot! I enjoy the different elements that they put into their songs. It's heavy, but it's also the perfect music to listen to on a rainy day (or so I've discovered.) The fifth song actually makes me want to go to a bar and sit there smoking a cigar haha ;) Also, I love the guitar in all of those songs.

4th and 8th track are my favourites so far (sorry, cannot read the kanji on my phone and am too lazy to google the song titles right now)

  12.

Mucc making an important announcement on twitter:

Mucc: "We're going on hiatus, starting in 2018..."

European fans: omg, how long will they be on a break? A year? Two years? Five? Forever? *freaking out*

    Mucc:"...for three months. We apologise."

    European fans: what.

    Mucc: what.

Me: *facepalms* just take your break. Go on holiday, do something fun, for God's sake.

  13. you should probably talk to a doctor. I don't think that we are qualified to help you. Sometimes we subconsciously get angry or sad, seemingly without reason, and we cannot explain where it comes from.  I hope you can find out why you feel this way and work things out!

  14. Awww...same here. I couldn't go to their tour in 2012 either. Not because I was too young , but because it was too stressful at that time during the semester to travel to their concert for hours by bus, and then return the next morning. I kind of forgot about it, and only realised when it was too late. A friend of mine was there, though, and she said that the crowd was crazy indeed! A lot of people stuffed in one club, and the band members and audience going crazy (or...nyappy? ;))

And, yes, the crowd is quite youngat an cafe concerts. I started listening to them when I was 14, and was at my first ancafe concert after I had just turned 16. I can only recommend going to as many concerts as you can. But I know the situation of not being able to go because you're too young, and you have no one wanting to come with you, hence your parents giving you a big NO.

I hope you can still make it someday! Hopefully they'll return to Europe once more!

  15. Okay, I'm just going to start with my last AnCafe concert experience. It was in a small club in Berlin on their last Europe tour. Sadly, the band had to book another venue because they did not sell a lot of tickets, but the few people who were at the concert ad a lot of fun and energy!

My friend and I were not quite ready to go into the first few rows (we'll leave that to the younger Caffekko generation ;)), but we also felt too young to join the people in their mid-40s, standing at the bar in the back. Our place in the middle of the room was the best decision we could've made: close to the stage, but also far enough to have some space for ourselves. We had LOTS of fun, and I even felt that the few parents who were there to accompany their under sixteen year olds slowly warmed up the band. Tney didn't seem to enjoy the music that much, but we could feel that most probably thought they were sort of adorable, especially when they started talking in German.

And to top everything of: yes, I caught Takuya's guitar pick (by near accident really. Just caught it out of replex because it was flying towards my face. It's got a cute Nyappy on it!)

If there are any experiences you would like to share, then I'd be happy to read them!

  16. A party full of neo nazis is now the third strongest party in our parliament. Why? Because people are stupid and obviously we never learn from past mistakes. We haven't had any far-right parties in our parliament in decades, and now this shit. Fear and stupidity are our worst enemies, I guess.
