anyway. welcome to MH. i've been into vk for around the same time as you

kpop is full of youngsters but that doesnt mean someone older cant enjoy it. i love myself some kpop. and rock :)

    see you around

yeah, I realised that the minute I posted it and facepalmed hard. But it's 5:30 in the morning over here, so I can be forgiven (I think).

Thank you! Yeah, a lot of people enjoy both and that's great!

  2. Even though I prefer his old stuff, I also like his new music. Granted, some of that electronic songs sound like cr**, but he had some catchy songs the last few years. I've seen him live three times, and he's still good. Very engaging and energetic. BUT I have to say (and many fans are going to hate me for that) I dislike his "inspirational" speeches that he's got going on. I mean, let's be real here, he's telling ppl the same thing every single concert. For me it always sounded fake and a bit rehearsed, but the fans seemed to love it. Well, well...

Artists use their preferred medium to present thought provoking/evocative/controversial/whatever messages all the time. Kyo & Co. aren't the first and they certainly won't be the last. And considering this is the same band with the vocalist that promised to one day fuck our parents as well as rape our daughters on our graves, I REALLY don't think they're concerned with offending anyone.

That made me laugh because even as a 15 year old, me and my best friend always giggled about the lyrics of Clever Sleazoid because they were just absolutely over the top and ridiculous.

A lot of people mentioned here that they "don't really care" or "just want to be edgy". I think that is the main problem here. I often get the feeling that Kyo sings about things he cannot understand, and about topics that are critical just for the sake of being edgy. I find that problematic.

But, hey, I'm a fan of Rammstein as well, so obviously I'm not too concerened with bands just wanting to shock people with their lyrics.

  4. Hi everyone :)

I've been listening to JRock for 11 years and was also quite active in another forum in my teenage years. Now, feeling like a JRock grandma already, I've decided to start my comeback. I've never really stopped listening to JRock, but as you get older you grow out of that phase of huge obsession over VK to then....obsess  over other, more adult things ;) Recently I've been getting into Dir en Grey and other bands again, mainly because I spent two weeks in Tokyo last year and went to VK shops in Shinjuku. It was a great experience and awakened a long buried passion! I think it's really sad that all of the "youngsters" are just all about KPop nowadays. Not that KPop is bad or anything, but I've just always been more into Metal and Rock in general, so I just don't get all too excited over it. The VK scene has diminished over the years and is now, sadly, barely existent. I want to change that and keep the spirit alive by talking with you lot about JRock and everything related (or unrelated.)

Cannot wait to hear from you guys! See you around!
