I’m so freaking excited for Silent Memory! I’ve loved the song since I heard it at Zepp in August and they filmed the video in Shizuoka, which is where I did my study abroad in high school. I hope they mail my ticket soon 🙏

I like the fancy lad look and everyone looks great but the crown Midorikawa is wearing seems a bit cheap imo.  That aside, i'm curious about what this new look will bring them bc I like gosan.

I'm completely fine being in the remaining minority of a dying genre. I would rather find what I like on my own, then have 'them' figure it out for me.
 
I think the whole 2006-2010 resurgence of the genre was more organic than any of the created/algorithmic/lackadaisical trends the post 2010's have given us. This was in part due to social feeds/search terms/content that we were using/sharing/discovering ourselves during this period. These days, the internet has basically been turned against its users, and through very powerful technology, we're shown a barrage of cookie cutter content that the vast majority are entertained by. It doesn't matter if it's good or not, or if some of us aren't interested in it, it's what works. Fortunately, VK is only cookie cutter enough for it's own genre, and too risky for mainstream audiences.
 
If it takes VK following mainstream trends to get popular again, count me out. I am grateful for the old bands and existing bands that keep true to their style without selling out.

Visual Kei was, and pretty much always will be a counterculture movement with a cult following. Things come and go in popularity. That's been the case with Nu Metal, Eurodance, etc.
 
Part of it is the fact that Harajuku culture is dead and J-Fashion is so toned down, and a proper J-Fashion revival is possible, but no matter what, Visual Kei isn't going to be the mainstream phenomenon it barely even was at one point. Its always gonna be a niche movement with niche music tastes. Japanese people and Americans always have, and always will be mainstream taste-wise. Thats the nature of things. No use getting mad about it, because there really is nothing you can really do about it. Just enjoy Visual Kei while it's still a thing.

Also I had so much good memories from gosan concert, Yuu was ESPECIALLY FUCKING KIND he even gave highfives to us. (I think we were the only foreigners then there with my friend) Their songs are really good and fun in live too.  
Somehow I can image this "fight" is just a fun/game from them because this fits to their images but who knows. I'll love them both, because of their songs are good and idc about the drama. X'D

The tracks 'Ju te veux' and 'S-Conscious' on the Malice Mizer album merveilles are pointless filler that serve no other purpose 

I've seen some clips from it and I agree it's amazing! I'm looking forward to Le Ciel when Gackt floats down on to the stage xD

This reminds me! I recently found these pictures on my old photobucket account of my hand sewn Merry shirts. It was impossible for me to get legit merch in America back then (around 2007) so I finally decided to just make my own.

Yeah, not great f(^^;) I do really like how the umbrella came out though! I am much more pleased with the second one, which is cross stitch (I am way more confident with cross stitch than embroidery) and I drafted the pattern by hand over the course of a month. The long blood drip in the logo has gotten a little crooked over the years so I think I'll redo that part when I go back to the US next week.
 

Being perfectly honest, choosing not to post the Gazette’s new album won’t affect much.
 
Gazette fans will still pre-order the thing, regardless of download status (unless they’re underage, or broke) People who don’t really care about the Gazette that much won’t have their buying habits altered by a temporary unavailability.
 
Bands that aren’t established *might* be able to sway overseas buying habits if they make an effort, and are willing to try ways to work with a diverse market (ex Vivarush).  But as a whole, the Japanese music industry is more antagonistic than helpful regarding non-Japanese fans. They’ve never counted on our sales. 

It just comes naturally. There is a live video of them playing "Kiss in the Dark" where she wears a tight little dress and she just couldn't sell it. Likewise, I once saw Hana from Gacharic Spin, who is almost as butch, try to look girly and it didn't work.
 
Some women just have a masculine quality to them, just as Miko has a very feminine quality.

Kyo's voice is off putting.

It’s a pleasure to be able to share MERRY-ness with others! I just hope it is alright to translate and put my spin on so much stuff, as I am sure there’s loads more people whose Japanese is better than mine and would disagree with my interpretation.

My understanding is that Boo wanted to interview Die only but Die requested for Gara to join as well. I’m not going to go into too much details of what Die and Boo said because they are mainly DEG, X Japan, Ladies Room related. In general, Gara’s role on this show is being Die’s kouhai and reminiscent some stories from his roadie days.
