man today has been fuckin awful for vk news
-
what the fuckkkkkkkkkk
-
they all look so gooood ヽ(´ー`)ノ
-
there is something odd about watching a vk vocalist absolutely going for it in front of three people who aren't really moving, but everyone starts somewhere
-
programmed drums are alright except when they're fucking miles in front of everything else in the mix
-
looking forward to this!

My ability to recognize faces sucks big time and make up doesn't help...I can't make out if it's him either, but BIOSPHIA Reki is spelled differently (暦) so I think it's just coincidence.

Ayee. I'm a trans girl, currently pre-HRT but I do what I can to stave off the dysphoria. The hardest part here is getting the British healthcare system to accept that I'm trans and not just a confused gay dude and let me start HRT lmao pls help (・へ・)
I think visual kei actually helped me figure it out. As a kid, I never really cared about my appearance at all until I started getting into visual kei. I'd look at musicians and get jealous of how they looked really feminine, and then questioned why I'd even care about them looking feminine. I still get jealous of some of them (´Д`)ハァ…

Makes sense, it's the gender-bending-est genre around (*´ω`*)

I think what I like the most about visual kei is how tight-knit the fandom is. I see that I am on the much younger side of the spectrum in terms of age, but I have met the most interesting and kind people through this music. Vkei made me realize I loved rock music and gave me something to look forward to
and fangirl over.
And more the music...most of it is created by the musicians, even if originality may be at stake at times. I think it is a lot more genuine then say, kpop. And that really appeals to me. Sure these bandomen are poor and money hungry, and I love to support them, but you hear things you'll never hear in other genres in scenes (which is pretty no-duh, but hey, that's awesome to me).
日本語勉強に頑張れ!
We need more people on the younger side of the spectrum - all the people like me who got into visual kei in their tween weeaboo phases are in their 20s now ( TДT)

Just now TaJI mentioned lives that move people—I actually cry really easily so I’m wondering if I’ll end up crying halfway through the live...
KuRo: Please come to our one-man live if you want to see Nagisa’s tears!
Nagisa: That will increase the number of people by 100 (lol)
Hah.

Well, it's hugely affected my life since I got into it about seven years ago. It was my first proper exposure to foreign language music; I was absolutely fascinated by how the language sounded, which made me discover my affinity for languages, and now I'm doing a degree in Linguistics with a minor in Japanese thanks, VK!
I love how dramatic it is. The old stuff is all brooding and dark, the newer stuff is all in-your-face. People complain that VK is all sounding the same nowadays, but there really is a band to suit any mood. The first time I listened to VK, it was Hizaki Grace Project (no idea how I found them first out of everyone I could have heard, but whatever.) Looked up some videos and fell in love with the whole style of it.
Plus I like that the bassist is usually actually doing his own thing and not just providing low-end to the guitar riff, unlike a lot of other genres >.> I do music production as a hobby and this drives me crazy when I listen a lot of metal.
also hot guys

It's less that I hate it, because sometimes I'm cool with it (like shamelessly, I think Meto does it well), but then I keep seeing it and sometimes it just either feels unnecessary or like they don't really have enough personality sans voice to pull it off. It's less that I can't stand them and more that I sometimes go 'why?'
I think it only works with Meto because he's the "weird character" in Mejibray. Got to have an overall aura of mysteriousness otherwise you just come across as Joe Dumbass who has nothing to say imo

Well, shit. I only just got into them.
Hopefully their vocalist joins some other band or something, I adore his voice.

^ The vocalist isn't absolutely terrible... could they not find a drummer, guitarist and bassist instead of having those General MIDI sounds? I know it was 1995 but yikes.

That last song is by far the best because they've had the decency to autotune him for some of it.
The first one genuinely sounds like bad karaoke...
