Himeaimichu got a reaction from TrentReznor in i'm genuinely curious as to how dezert became so big to the point of being featured i
Well, Mucc and DEZERT preformed together at an even called "Commune Vol. 1", which had big bands, but small ones as well. There was an interview that went with it and Tatsurou explained how he found out about DEZERT.
"I’ve met several times in private with Miyauchi from Ikebukuro Black Hole, who told me that there is a band he likes and want me to give a try to them. He even handed me their album. Listening to the CD, I’ve felt that desired emotion and it also had a sound I like. There are only a few bands in the current scene which produce such sound, so they got my attention and interest."

My guess is, Mucc opened some doors for them. The right connections will get you anywhere. Just KNOWING someone can get you somewhere.

Himeaimichu got a reaction from nick in "mazohyst of decadence" has always been my most hated DIR EN GREY song of all time. D
It's such a boring song. Like, you think it's gonna pick up, but it doesn't. Really, I think what most should do is just replace the song on their playlists with "Yuri no Hanataba" by Kuroyume. It inspired Mazohyst, and is way more interesting to listen to

Himeaimichu reacted to Dillinger in Which vkei bands are the most popular now in the overseas VKEI world? The Gazette DEZ
X Japan, Gazette, Dir en Grey, Malice Mizer, MUCC, Versailles, Girugamesh, Nightmare, AnCafe, Mejibray, Royz, D'espairsRay, Miyavi.
Overseas VK had their peak in 2005-2010. Would be really rare to meet someone in America who have heard of a VK band that started after 2010.

Himeaimichu got a reaction from BrenGun in Which vkei bands are the most popular now in the overseas VKEI world? The Gazette DEZ
AvelCain/Karma, along with the Ains bands and such, have the bulk of their popularity in Latin and South America. The GazettE seems to have it's bulk of popularity in both Americas. Dir en Grey would span across North America and Europe, though there are a good amount of Latin American fans.
The rest are mostly spread around all 3.
Whichever is the most popular? Split between GazettE and Dir en Grey. It's obvious.
For NighingeiL, I don't see too many fans around, but Kon and Nao did preform in Los Angeles with Anti Feminism after having released Cell's first English single and holding a competition for who'd play support. So I'd say they have a growing California fanbase, probably

Himeaimichu got a reaction from chemicalpictures in Composition-wise, what's the best GazettE song, in your opinion? I'd say 'DOGMA'. Fre
This is gonna make me sound like a hipster, since I mostly enjoy Old GazettE and honestly, and everyone in the Vkei scene is gonna hate me for this, but I didn't enjoy Dogma too much, but anyways, my favourite is Sentimental Na Onigokko. I like how the song changes throughout, from Punk, to sort-of Industrial Metal and so fourth.
Gosh I'm such a "that guy" and probably look like the biggest Vkei hipster out there.

for me, it's Tsumi to Batsu by Dir en grey, the best christian anthem

Neo Ark by Phantasmagoria. I mean, it's totally about loving god, with deep lyrics like
"In the shattered rosary I finally believed
I and my children will know, to call the name of god
You gain everything by throwing freedom away"
I think they'll love it

I don't think we need to give Catholics any more reasons to "connect with the kids".

Hey, my friend Tetsu did all the work. IDK how he did it (I guess he just looked up bands of Zi:Kill roadies or something).
Now we just need to go up to Kyo and Kamijo and be like "Explain this shit" xD

So this is what my friend dug up: Dir&Gray was originally called Quai d'Orsay, and had Yukino on vocals, and Show (the Zi:Kill roadie) on one of the instruments (he didn't specify) but then they changed their name to Dir&Gray

Yeah, but it does seem like they disband at the drop of a hat now.
IDK if it's because musical differences are now more common, or unlike Zi:Kill, they recognise their toxicity and quit faster xD (Seriously, a lot of the instances that almost caused Zi:Kill to break up are actually recorded in a novel about Japanese youth in the 90's)

I wish Sure it was cool since apparently Zi:Kill actually produced them during that tape. Unfortunately that's an archived auction from 2011 and I haven't seen another copy since then.

Pretty sure they did it just as quickly back then as well XD They're just bands that we've never heard of. I'm not sure if it's still online, but the live schedule for the venue CLUB GIO going all the way back to 1992/3 was still online recently and there were sooooooo many VK bands I'd never heard of that you'd see pop up on the schedule for a couple months and then never reappear (likely due to disbanding after being active for 3-4 months).

Mhm. It's especially fun to come up with funny ones, such as mine, "Inugami Kyouko's Messy Corpse Paint". I had a hard time choosing between either that, or "Yukika's lack of singing or management ability". I eventually chose the first because more people know who Kyouko is
