I know this topic is pretty much dead, but I thought I'd mention a band no one has brought up. Most of us probably know these guys. Cuartet. They were Climax Enterprise's flagship band, and kind of represented the transition period between 90's and 2000's vkei. Before that, there was sort of an industrial-influenced sound mixed with a little punk being seen in bands like Gill'e Cadith and some of Kagerou, which then would be emulated in The GazettE and Cuartet (which, I'm sure we know are connected due to Saki and Ruki having a band together, and initially being produced by the same guy). During this early era, many bands were mixing sounds together, and Cuartet, being the Dir en Grey and Kagerou stans they are, kind of went into a Nu-Metal sound, but still keeping a bit of the post-punk and thrash metal influence the 90's had. In some songs, it even sort was more of a groove-metal sound, giving vibes similar to Machine Head. Though I'm not sure whether that's coincidental, or on purpose. I wish I could find more bands like Cuartet. So far, only Etcetera comes to mind, but they're way less Nu Metal. Also while Saki isn't the best vocalist, he carries a tune way better than Yukika did, and there weren't any audible deep breaths. I seriously need more early 2000's Nu-Metal Transition-Kei. It seems as if transition-kei that ISN'T Nu Metal is much easier to find. Saki continued with the Nu-Metal schtick, though I haven't listened to his current band enough to know whether he's still doing it, or progressed onto core.
  2. I originally was hoping リストカットして was going to be a remake of JyuLie's 夕暮れにリストカット. I'm less cringing and more slightly disappointed.
  3. I think so far, it sounds cool. Oh, and the lyrics to 雨女 definitely are a reference to 雨小僧 from Etcetera.

I totally love the color of their outfits lol

Welcome to the forum! I'm also working on a career in Visualkei, as a vocalist (but I'm waiting until I can move to Japan where my spiritual brother lives). In fact, my brother, @sakurakurakura, has a Vkei indies band called D:[ab]-e, of which I'm promotion staff.
  6. How to make the lowest budget PV ever:

Make one that's so expensive, it puts you in debt, meaning you have negative money, and therefore, the budget is negative.

  7. ここにラブソングを by DEZERT really feels like if you took Guruguru Eigakan, and made them Nu-Metal.

  8. I say they might as well be. Also they're like best buds with my favourite band, so I may be biased.

Though this definitely will never happen, I think it'd be really cool if Kuroyuri would do a full collab EP with some of their associated acts. And it doesn't have to be limited to ones they associate with right now, it could include bands they've preformed with in the past, like Inugami Circus Dan, or the bands of ex members of their associated acts, like Unlucky Morpheus, which we all know has Yuki from Raddock. Or even bands whose member's proto band had a Kuroyuri member, like DEZERT. Though I wonder how some of them would mix. Like, is there a cohesive way to combine the styles of Kuroyuri and Inugami, or The Black Swan, or ZIZ? lol

If you're curious, watch at your own risk. This guy is still active, and has toured with Maria Cross before lol
  11. Himeaimichu

That username is automatically legendary lol. Though, I think I know of a Vkei musician who is more urgent to avoid than even Maria Cross lol Anyways, welcome to the forum! I hope you enjoy yourself here!~
  12. Himeaimichu

Ex Vasalla members Shun, K-suke, and Sin (yes, the one from Syndrome and D) with Junichiro from King in their session band "The Fuzz". Damn does Shun (center) look so young. I want to know his anti-aging secrets
  13. Himeaimichu

Oh yeah, I messaged you back on twitter. It's actually sort of important lol.
  14. Himeaimichu

I've been trying to get by lol. Mostly well though ^^ I have become promotion staff for a Vkei band though. They're a small underground one called D:[ab]-e, but the vocalist, who is also my spiritual brother, does know some people higher up in the scene, so it's a really good start to a future career in Vkei. He's really sweet and wholesome lol.
  15. Himeaimichu

Hello ^ It's your old friend Aimi from the G+ Vkei community you run lol. How have things been?
  16. Himeaimichu

Honestly, these guys didn't deserve all the losses that happened to them. They're incredibly strong for a Vkei band, still surviving even though most of their associated acts are now disbanding (Grieva, Sibilebashir, The Black Swan in particular). I've known them since they were Memento Mori (ironically right before they ended MM), and they have incredible synergy as a band. I don't know if any bands the members will go into if they do disband in the near future will have the same synergy. But I don't think we should worry too much quite yet... they still have some lives planned for 2018, so if they do end, it'll most likely be in 2018.
  17. Himeaimichu

Honestly, if they disband, there is nothing I can do about it so I'll have to accept it. I may not be able to personally deal with it as I've had other bands though, since these guys have gotten me through tough times, whether it's coping with my not-so-savoury family, or whether it's anxiety attacks, these guys have gotten me through it all. If Kuro retires, it'll be a dark day, but I think Mei and K can go without him. Just I hope someone helps him if he's actually taking sleeping meds with alcohol because I've seen people die in front of my eyes due to prescription meds. He doesn't need to go the route of Daisuke (Mei posted something similar on Twitter, but I assumed it was part of his persona). If Kuroyuri does end, then I hope at least Mei and the others will do something in the future. That is all I ask of them.
  18. Himeaimichu

Yes. They want all the cuteness and thighs for themselves. They're stingy-asses
  19. Himeaimichu

Only if D:[ab]-e wins something. Otherwise, it actually has meaning as an award, and who likes meaningful awards?
  20. Himeaimichu

All I know about this topic is that some Vkei guys have some thicc thighs. TBH, no matter what sexuality you are, thighs are great. k bye
  21. Himeaimichu

He made a new one a few weeks ago. The handle is kyr.kr
  22. Himeaimichu

K's been using the name Yohan for years, since his days in Icecream, so I guess he identifies with it better. Also, they're hella active. They've been playing so many lives as of recent and have played their tour final I think
  23. Himeaimichu

Ehh I have Metronome if I want my vocoder and electronics fix.
  24. Does anyone know any updates on Karma's new band, "Rands"? He hasn't posted on twitter since the beginning of the project, and the website is still unfinished from the looks of it

  25. So I decided to give some GazettE stuff made after 2007 (specifically DIM) a 2nd try (mostly because I was desperate for something similar to Memento Mori), and I gotta say, I like the songs Leech and Nakigahara from DIM. Leech is just very high energy and aggressive, which is my thing lol. And I think Nakigahara actually directly influenced Memento Mori, since it uses the Koto, and Memento Mori was known for it's use of traditional Japanese instruments.

Though most of the album is still ehh for me, I have more respect for them than I used to.

I don't remember that, but I would totally be for it. Both versions from 別れ道 are seriously wonderful, to have a 3rd one with their newest music style would be interesting.

No idea, besides their fabulous look for their recent lives, I haven't check videos or whatever they are doing for it. I prefer to wait until they formally drop it, previews and spots didn't work for me lol :D

      platy

They haven't dropped any previews for their next release. Also that look that's similar to "cockroach" was just for a Halloween special. But it did give me hope for their upcoming album!

      Nagisa

泣ヶ原  is hands down my favorite GazettE song. So many gems in DIM.
