  1. Yeah the only titles I recognise are the already released Gulu Gulu songs. I know when they were a session band, they were playing work in progress versions of what would be songs from Henna MERRY GO ROUND, so I imagine these are just works in progress for what will eventually be whatever they'll release
  2. I imagine something has got to be released before that 2020 Date. We'll just have to wait and see.
  3. Twitter's new PC layout is ugly AF

  4. So does anyone know what the announcement is?
  5. Does anyone know anything about the Yuuga band titled "愛すべき糞バンギャ様"? Apparently he was in it after Devil Kitty, but before starting Fakestar.

  6. God I really hope there will be a new release. Hopefully a full length!
  7. Himeaimichu

Mikage from CrowXClass (Also known as Masaki Nakamura outside of the Vkei scene. He does a lot of stuff for anime and stuff now)
  8. Himeaimichu

Saki from Cuartet in the Yuki Geshiki PV And the guy he probably got the idea from (and who used to play drums with him), Ruki from the GazettE in this live footage. Ai from Memento Mori (now in Gulu Gulu). This pic was taken right before they released their only full length, which their drummer left before releasing. His replacement wouldn't leave until the release of their 2nd mini album.
  9. If you think about it, Soulja Boy was the prototypical mumble rapper. That dude manages to mumble while shouting.

  10. Himeaimichu

I feel mildly uncomfortable even looking at these dudes. IDK why, but their gaze into the camera creeps me out.
  11. New Agers have made it almost impossible to listen to traditional Asian music, especially Indian, Tibetan, and Japanese, without a bunch of shoehorned pseudo-science that doesn't even exist in Asia. Like, I just want to hear the music, I don't need a speech about how A432 Hz will "open your chakras and your third eye". I don't think they even care that much about the specific A-Note tuning in Asia.

As well, they've also made it really hard to find actual authentic traditional Asian music, because they market their FL Studio stuff as "Traditional", even though it doesn't musically resemble anything actually traditionally played in Asia. You can't just put a bunch of Chinese VSTs in FL Studio and call it "Traditional Japanese". (though there are also other reasons that traditional Asian music, that's actually authentic, is hard as fuck to find. Mostly due to stuff like Mao's cultural revolution and the pressure to westernise literally everything down to the sounds of the instruments. I'm looking at you, China)

Had to revisit this status b/c Adam Neely did a video on tuning to the different A432 Hz "chakra" frequencies. Though considering that the video was posted on the same day, your status might've been inspired from this (?)

I think there's benefits in using A432, but using it in such a haphazard snake-oil way is ridiculous. Ends up sounding ridiculous too, haha.

Oh yeah, that's another rabbit hole lol. I think A432 could be good if, say, you're a singer and its more in your range. But when it comes to the actual temperament, unless you're an experimental musician, the whole push to switch to something other than equal temperament honestly makes little sense in the scale of western music. Although alternate tuning systems are really fascinating.

    1. Devil Kitty. I'm a huge fan of that early 2000's Visual Kei sound, and when Yuuga isn't ripping his own stuff off, he's a pretty creative musician. Kisaki, Yayoi (La'Miss Fairy, Garnet, etc.), Yukika (though I'm really hard on Yukika because of how he treated my favourite band. I ain't gonna lie he had some cool songs tho), and Wataru (12012) are more examples. 2. It can be. It really depends on the situation and it isn't a clear black or white. Generally, it's good not to support shitty artists though so buy used/pirate. 3. Hell no. Not unless the other members are complicit.
  13. Himeaimichu

Honestly, I'd rather Etcetera revive now, since Yukika actually learned to sing pretty decently during CLUTCH lol. Now an Etcetera revival, but with Saki from Cuartet on vocals instead of Yukika, even though I know that will never happen, I would totally want to see because I'm a total Saki stan lmao

  15. Duolingo now has Vietnamese, so I decided to start learning it. I have pretty much all the time in the world on my hands, so hopefully I'll learn quick

Nice! I'm using it to learn Madarin, although I'm hitting a wall with the difficulty and have kind of switched over to another app that has a better learning speed.

I was learning Japanese a while back but I haven't been on it in ages and that owl is probably pissed at me. Anyways, good luck to you, @Peace Heavy mk II! What app are you using now? ^_^

HelloChinese. It has a lot of advantages that Duo currently does not, namely:

-in depth grammar explanations that reflect the context of the sentence (sometimes Duo's tooltip hints don't actually apply to the sentence at hand, so you're left to guess and get it wrong so you "learn from your mistakes." Normally, that's fine, but the app gives you a health bar that they then charge you to refill. tl;dr : you can only make so many mistakes before they try to charge you to try again)

      -character lessons

-audio doesn't sound like Siri being put through a cheese grater

-practice games (spelling, word recognition, listening comprehension, etc)

-listening portions are people they found outside and asked them to record a sentence. There's something that never gets old about seeing some girl in the park standing there and saying "....celery..." with a confused look on her face, all for my betterment.

-They introduce content in chunks. I'm finding Duo throws a ton of unexplained grammar and vocabulary at you and it's up to you to figure out how to piece it together. For earlier levels, that's fine. But I'm into the late 30's - early 40's group of lessons and it's getting too difficult to parse through everything and remember it.

No, but Kyo has the big gay
  17. I tried out a little more of 2015 Devil Kitty, and I found this song titled "Surrender", which I' can't find anywhere else, and it's essentially a cover of Schizophrenia from Chateau la Tour. EDIT: Apparently it's actually a Gokiburi song? That would actually make more sense, tbh. Except for the pic of Devil Kitty

    1. Peace Heavy mk II

      Peace Heavy mk II

It's on one of Gokiburi's live distributed singles. That YT account is their guitarist's, and he posted a couple of demos that later became DK songs (namely, guitar and bass-focused instrumental versions of "Mugen Loop").

  18. Yeah Kyo and Kisaki hate each other, and Kisakis immature ass won't shut up about it still. As far as I know, he and Kaoru are still cool, but their beef was supposedly the reason La:Sadie's broke up (unless you believe the rumors that Kisaki stole Kyo's chick lmao)
  19. Himeaimichu

IDK if this is the right place to put this, so if it belongs somewhere else, I'm sorry lol. So I really like the looks of early Devil Kitty, but I can't find any HQ scans of them. Does anyone have any that they don't mind sharing?
  20. Himeaimichu

I found Yuuga's secret MH account

Parasite Lucia was a band with only 3 songs (and only one that I can actually find online. I uploaded this by just searching the name Lizarection into an mp3 site lmao.) that for their time, managed to get at least some attention, as they played at Shibuya On Air East, a relatively large venue, at one point. That same live date was also before they released this song, which was on a omnibus with some other popular indies acts, namely Mercuro and Lar~Mia. I personally think that live was probably played due to connections Saki had, since his band before this, Ruinous, had a featuring on an omnibus that included the likes of Neurotic Doll and Cali Gari. Sadly, these connections wouldn't prove to be very useful, as the most popularity he ever got was some minor notoriety in Cuartet, but multiple issues held that band back from ever succeeding. Vocalist Saki would later sing for Kar+te=Zyanose, and then Cuartet. Aika would also play in Cuartet, and later become an associate of Igarashi Tomozo, playing in his bands Black:List and Triggah, those as far as I know, he's retired now. Last I heard of Aika, he was staff at Tomozo's now defunct Dual Core Sound. While none of the other band members would go onto do anything, their bassist Reiya was gonna be a member in a project by drummer Hizumi Ryo from Archfiend, Fatal Current, and Anesthesia, but the project never commenced. Hizumi would later play drums for Saki's band OUTRAGE, but that was a special project that only lasted 6 months.
  22. Himeaimichu

While Yuuga himself is definitely not obscure, his solo project's PVs are rare, and very low budget and home made. (Also, wtf is with the part where he raps about Toilets?)
  23. Himeaimichu

Hands down, Yukika from Etcetera. Look at his sorry-ass. The dude probably weighs as much as I do (and I'm underweight) so we'd be evenly matched. The dude is a total kusomen and needs to be taught a lesson anyway
  24. This is surprisingly not too bad, but could use less synths. I didn't like Elm too much, so it's cool to see Kasuga do something different. He's always changing his stage name though
