Welcome, I'm from melbourne too and yeah the vk community here is pretty much non-existant, though Deg got a small crowd when I saw them in 2014/2015. When the boom was happening in europe nothing happened here though apparently Blood toured here in the mid 2000s.

Are there any songs longer then 7 minutes? Edit: Just saw from amazon reviews album is 40 minutes long with 12 tracks...
  3. Tanishi

Oh yeah I forgot about that demo tape one. Too bad I can't find it anywhere it looks really cool

If only he'd release compilations of matina bands with scattered/hard to get material...

Kuchiki no Tou gets me every time.

Fantastic. If the rest of the album matches the quality of the three songs released so far, this could be top 10 vk albums of the decade. Hopefully it lives up to the hype.
  7. Check out Finnish folk band Tenhi. All their albums are fantastic but if you're gonna check them out try Kauan or Maaäet first.

Their last album was just about my favorite from them. Really hyped for this.

This is the exact same sentiment the anime/general otaku industry operates with. Whether it's good or bad is another issue but it's what some people want and there clearly is a market for this type of relationship projection/simulation.

Thanks for the recs, that first band sounds really great.
  11. Just listened to Diaura's two acoustic singles and they're really good. Is there any other VK acoustic stuff worth listening to?

Have been listening to some Silver Ash and (just discovered) Madmans Esprit, can anyone recommend some chinese or korean visual kei that's good? Apart from those two, I've heard Angel Heart (korea), Eve (korea) and Lilith (china) as well.

Never heard of these guys but the black metal/visual kei/korean combination looks really interesting. That first song you posted is really good too.

I've been looking for a website that does this for a while. It's a shame that they only have 2017 and not earlier years.

Yeah I agree, he abuses the cymbals too much and it's made worse by having them too high in the mix. They also need more unity because often it sounds like each member is trying to individually sound as cool as possible without paying attention to what the other members are doing or the overall sound. It sucks because they have nearly all the elements of a great band but fall short. When I try to put them on I just feel like listening to Develop One's Faculties who are not entirely dissimilar.

Was there a release date on their site, I couldn't see one?
  17. Apparently the last show on the 23rd did get livestreamed and I completely forgot about it. It had Chanty, Initial L and Jin Machine. Chanty's Setlist: 1 貴方だけを壊して飾ってみたい 2 フライト 3 インピーダンス 4 冤罪ブルース 5 魔がさした 6 今夜未明 7 不機嫌 8 おとなりさん
  18. Thank you that could be it because it seems like a very famous song. I guess the question now is whether that song stemmed from a traditional japanese tune.
  19. These are the two songs in question but I swear I've heard it in other songs too, Ruru at 1:30 and the Joshiraku ED at 0:50.
  20. That Zero[hz] album sounds dated already because of the poorly produced 2005~ sounding electronics. It's a shame because the rest of the music actually sounds alright but the terrible electronics makes it hard for me to listen to. BP Records really need a better producer.

  21. Still listening to their Oboreru Sakana cover fairly regularly, the guitar work is just so incredible especially towards the end of the song, it just feels so satisfying. Aie's a great guitarist but I think he's at his best when he has someone inspiring/pushing him, and Kazuma is doing a great job at this which is probably why this project is just that level above Keel even though Ryo's a better vocalist.
  22. I wouldn't/don't want it to take off in the West because catering to Western audiences would make it similar to Western music removing the unique aspects that attract me to Japanese music in the first place. When I want to listen to Western music I listen to Western music. Similar to how I dislike how anime it becoming more popular, if it became Westernized it would lose the unique 'anime' traits that make me watch it. And I know both anime and Japanese music have many Western influences already but they have both morphed and become somewhat unique in their own right.
  23. I'm surprised to see people hating on the studio version of Utafumi. It's a really catchy song, has a slight progressive edge and it's mixed a little better then this single (still far from good). The harsh vocal sections are especially good. This song on the other hand sounds like c-grade Arche, it's just boring and has the worst production I've heard from these guys in a long time. Ash is alright but the title track is their worst single track yet imo, even below Sustain the Untruth.

The new G-Dragon. Can't wait to hear this masterpiece.
