DEG remixes are always shit. I think the one exception is the Rinkaku remix by Akira Yamaoka.
-
It's a few things. The feedback break after the intro is longer, the first verse is longer, and the section after the first chorus is longer. As a whole, this single is disappointing. I was hoping Kuukoku wasn't going to be just Sugizo playing over the album track, but oh well. Also, Revelation remix is absolute garbage. Go back to reimagining older tracks please, because I didn't miss the era of singles coming with DEG dookie remixes.
-
It needs to be a proper orchestra though. I think some of the more elaborate ones were all synths.
-
Yeah, but I can't image it's much missed in 20 seconds. Maybe one of the existing sections is extended. I don't think it's going to be like anima where an entire minute was missing which contained an all new section.

DEG performing and zero and Tefutefu live proves they belong on Arche and aren't just throwaway tracks. I initially hated The inferno, but it slowly grew on me. The 2.06 performance of it on the Arche Budokan DVD is killer.

"Yoshiki to deliver much delayed project of fucking off for good"

Why even edit a 3 minute song?
-
Releasing edited versions of songs on digital platforms is bullshit. Sukekiyo did this with Anima as well.

Pushing an elevator button labeled "HELL" is so damn cheesy though.

Kyo was at his worst during the Withering tour where he was basically just shouting at the top of his lungs every night and losing his breath during every song. The live performance of Garbage on the Clever Sleazoid single is a perfect example: he couldn't get all the lyrics out, and the growling parts ("ladies and gentleman" and "please die") were actually backing tracks. But it sit down and watch the Arche Budokan lives. Kyo ain't perfect, but he's come a long way. EDIT: just noticed the example of "bad singing" was from the Arche live, which is the best Kyo has ever sounded. He isn't "off", he's singing only one of the three vocal overdubs.

Houyoku has some good tracks, but overall it's a bit of a bore. Also cannot stand Ame no Orchestra. It's like the most generic jrock ballad ever.

lol Honestly, I miss RES the most. I'm happy I can still hear the talent of Takumi and Mika in Sukekiyo, but Satsuki is totally wasting his voice on the boilerplate, toothless hard pop/rock he's been putting out. Without a doubt, Satsuki was not a chief songwriter in RES, but bonus points for writing Ichigo Oblaat.

I got Immortalis and Vitium thru CDJapan. But yeah the special editions were exclusive to the site. But they're also on iTunes. Just sucks that the digital release of anima is just an edited version of the title track.
-
In all honesty, the anima single was about on par price wise with any other special edition maxi with a blu-ray. Anything over 6000 yen was people trying to recoup the expense of obtaining the single in the first place since it was only sold on the band site. Even CDJapan is charging over 8000 yen because they have to special order it themselves. The new album will be a widely available release I imagine. The live blu-ray will be anima all over again

Also, I can't be arsed to link this at the exact moment, but I actually got chills when Kyo hit that note at about 3:00

Kaoru and Shinya are just out of their element. Kyo has improved ever since his last surgery, but I do think his problem is that he forces his range. If you struggle to do it, don't.

I didn't mind the rerecording of Luna Sea's first album at all. It lacked the raw youthful energy of the original, sure, but it was neat to hear it in a controlled and more "mature" context. Some songs suffered because of it, but again, it was an interesting listen.

Ruki will never sound like that again because he probably had some vocal coaching over the last few years. Most VK vocalists sound the way they do because they flat out just don't know how to sing.
-
Was that taken in a storage closet?

I think my next project will be to use the Arche Budokan menu music as the opening SE, then put And Zero in the middle to split the heavier material from the softer stuff.

For me, MUCC exists from Homura Uta to Kyuutai. After that I could only just tolerate the material they were putting out, though there have been some great songs the last few years. Picking a favorite, though, is tough. I mean, I love Zekuu, Kuchiki no Tou, Gokusai, Shion, and Kyuutai almost equally. Shion is a monster of an album, but at times it can be a little to dense and long-winded. Thankfully there's Kyuutai, which is basically Shion's little brother; it's tighter and a little more focused, and features my favorite hidden MUCC gem: Kagerou. So yeah, I couldn't really give the edge to anything right now. I'd have to really think about it, and even then I'd probably change my mind a few days later.

Does "battre sang" translate to drummer's blood?

Japan and their insane prices. Even if it is 6 discs, $200 is way too steep.
