Is the kick drum playing 16ths or 8ths? i see where you’re coming from, but the other thing to consider is that Shinya is basically doing what the rest of the band is doing, and he specifically is locked in with Toshiya. when it comes to drum patterns that don’t feel right to me, I immediately think of the undecided remake, particularly when Shinya starts pounding on the hi-hat halfway thru the guitar solo then moves it to the ride towards the end. It almost sounds like a stock drum pattern in an old Casio keyboard.

Only problem with that is their b-sides have traditionally been shitty since... forever? Like how many DEG b-sides were actually entirely new songs? Ash, Children, and Fukai?

Right. But what nekkichi is saying is now that we have two singles with Japanese titles, the upcoming album should also have a Japanese title. The only one is Kisou. Unless Missa means something.

Not to mention they’ve been touring what seems like non-stop. And just because we haven’t heard anything new doesn’t mean they haven’t been writing and recording. Adding in the fact that three of these guys have projects outside of DEG, you can’t say they aren’t productive.

It’s up there, and probably the first song I’d use to introduce the band to someone. It’s their entire career condensed into one song. An abridged Arche, I guess.

I’d probably care more about the Mode of DVDs if I could actually obtain them. I expect a new single before the summer is over. At least I hope.

This is what happens when DEG doesn’t release any new material in 18 months. Unless you count the D’erlanger cover. That was pretty sweet.

There’s also a wah in The Pledge which, honestly, is a far better example of a sister song to Tousei. I also did not connect Revelation of Mankind to Saku on a musical level at all.
