This is almost a consensus on mejibray's music by now, which is sadly true and I agree.

As much as I love Meji, I'd honestly be in favor of them going on break of it meant something good would come out of it. Nepenthes was the last one that had me hooked and then they kind of lost me after that. I know it will be hard for a lot of the fans, especially since half the bands that go on break don't come out of it, but I'd be willing to wait for them to put out something great instead of more songs that sound just like the others. Or at the very least they could spend more time with each new release.
I don't know about everyone else, but I still see quite a bit of potential with them, but I guess we can only wait and see.

Finally an appropriate place where I can voice my very unpopular opinion about a band everyone seems to be in love with: MEJIBRAY
 
First of all, I want to say that I love MEJIBRAY's older releases (2014 and back), but ever since they got an upsurge in popularity, I really think that their music has began deteriorating.
 
Can I also mention the fact that so many of their songs sound the same? That they use the same tone, chord, etc. in so many of their songs that now it just makes me yawn? I think their songs this year were the worst (especially Eiki oh my god do not get me started on this garbage).
 
I can acknowledge that all of them have some talent (especially MIA, his guitar solos always slay me), but there are some notes that Tsuzuku "vomits" out that do not sound very pleasant at all (but his screams are amazing, really, but comparing him side to side with other renowned vocalists in the industry, he will fall flat).
 
And their looks are like...wtf now? I think they're trying way, way too hard to be edgy (although Koichi's current look is beautiful, he looks very good). I think most of their popularity comes from their looks, though. I cannot go a day without finding someone literally "melting" over Tsuzuku's appearance. (dude has some nice tats and a very nice makeup-less face but he isn't that hot).
 
It's come to the point now that I cringe every time I hear they're coming out with something new (they literally come out with things at rocket-fire speed. I think they need to settle and conjure up something really good), and their fans...holy crap, their fans. I avoid most of them like the plague. I admit Meji has brought a lot of newcomers into the jrock/visual kei fandom, but many of them....have little to no courtesy.
 
Anyway that's my two cents, with excessive use of parentheses.

I splurge impulse bought this single on iTunes and am glad I did. This was a nice extensions I wish they had placed Goddess on Dogma because it would've been a great breather. More words probably later after some further rotations.
 
Lol even though Ugly sounds like the Maximum the Hormone song "What's up people" in the intro. I'm glad they went somewhere more melodic with the song. It's a lot of high energy in this single, which is great.

So lately I've been in sort of a "dry patch" when it comes to finding new bands I can actually start to like and become a fan of.
 
Okay, so here's some backstory (is this necessary, idk but I'm adding it anyway). I'm a newer fan of vkei jrock since I got into it around mid-2012. And even though I came in at a newer era, I really fell in love with older bands like Vidoll (and many other UNDERCODE bands), D, Versailles, The GazettE's and Alice Nine's older releases, D'espairsRay, Malice Mizer, and others I can't exactly recall now.
 
And now I can say the active bands that I really enjoy are Gotcharocka, Arlequin, Mejibray, Nocturnal Bloodlust, UNiTE, AvelCain, and Pentagon (this is the band I most recently started liking a lot).
 
Addition to this that yes, I know DIAURA is very popular now but there's something about Yo-ka that makes my skin crawl, and I mean in a bad way.
 
So since this a community filled with very seasoned vkei fans, I ask for your recommendations! ;3; I prefer newer bands probably 2012 and beyond, popularity not being something I care about. BUT you can also throw in some recommendations of some older/disbanded bands as well since I really love the sound of older visual kei rock. 
 
I can't quite describe my taste...the subcategory of rock doesn't really matter. I guess I can say I like unique sounds (like added electronic elements, crazy guitar riffs, or other things, and holy crap I'm bad at explaining this). But just anything outside of the typical generic sounding bands that have been coming out lately ;_; nothing against them, but their songs don't really grab me.
 
btw shout out to staff for the favorite/best tracks of month threads, those have been helping me a lot.

Awesome banner, but you could have at least used L'Arc en Ciel with the rainbow filter as well.

PHANTASMAGORIA (2004-2010) - was my first Jrock Visual-kei band I met .. and the only one in which I feel a deep love .. I miss all the members! in particular IORI (guitarist) who retired from the visual-kei scene in 2010...
 
MEGAROMANIA (2008-2013) - they remind me a lot Phantasmagoria as sound .. (even their looks are very beautiful)
 
SPIV STATES (2009-2012) - JUN&IORI for me are the best collaborators! They were also good friends! (and the songs are also very energetic and cheerful! I always put in a good mood!)
 
KISAKI PROJECT (2002-2012) - I liked the rhythm very relaxing.. JUI's voice is fantastic!
 
MoNoLiTh (2006-2014) - a band was really nice! hard to find a visual-kei band with two singers! and their songs leaped from the Rock-Pop to Metal! 
 
VIDOLL (2002-2011) - THEY WERE PHENOMENAL! the lyrics were poignant and pace did the rest! I have followed closely since their period old school up to a more modern rock! (I prefer the old school..)
 
 
There are others to list, but most do not finish if I mention all! I wrote that I was the most expensive!

Hello, I just joined a few minutes ago! I found the place on a whim; I was googling for Mako's new band and I came across a forum post here. I was really surprised to see a seemingly active jrock forum so I had to join. I've listened to jrock for about 3 years now and I'm hoping to reach out to even more jrock fans via this forum. My favorite bands as of right now are Gotcharocka, UNiTE, and Arlequin. So...nice to meet everyone.
