no! sugar, fatima, 9gbo, more, moran and a ton of other art kei bands have the distinguishment of doing jazz-kei right. more are the only band currently active, but they have a heavy jazz-lean typical of musicians who are ACTUALLY experienced in jazz LOL so listen to them +10!

its mostly just butchered swing...aka it sucks all soul out of anything jazzy and turns it into wack filler (my personal beef). BUT the exceptions are amazing....like when jazz-kei is good its fucking amazing and when its mediocre it sucks rlly hard

His topic on 2ch went from like 20 posts to 1200+ in just a couple of days. Apparently he's running around drinking lots of booze and hanging out with different girls every day around Kabukichou lol

uhhh i started with stuff i didn't even like all that much, like little exercises and stuff, simple riffs for classic songs. i went through all the simple major chords eventhough i didn't want to do them, but it was really helpful since i was in a lot of pain at first (acoustic isn't for pussies cough cough!) so i got used to holding my fingers down. its little stuff like that to focus on in the beginning because it helps you do the more complicated stuff later [this is what my instructor taught me]. kelly's right with the punk songs and chord progressions, that's a great way to start.

i started with lessons (then i stopped) and magically got better. to this day, i don't know about theory but i can play some kickass rhythm guitar.
tbh the best way to learn is to challenge yourself if you remain self taught. its really hard for a few months, but after you get past that learning curve, everything becomes a lot easier. stuff you found really hard 3 months ago becomes easy, and stuff that seems impossible soon becomes doable. thats a lot of the fun in learning guitar, once your baseline is laid, a lot of the intermediate stuff comes easier.
i hope this makes some sense. its an unconventional approach, its a lot slower than learning lessons and theory, but in absence of the two, that is what has worked for me in the past 4 years.
